Your POV
It's been a few weeks since, arriving in 1931 and meeting Emmett. Sitting next to him in his lab, scribbling on our own pieces of paper, Emmett working on the insides and wiring for the car and control panel. With my piece of paper currently, sketching the new design for the car that Emmett was wanting to create.
Finishing the design for the experiment, signing my name, and sliding it over towards the young Albert Einstein in the making. Watching him take a break from writing his notes and designing his side of the project, letting his pencil down and moving the paper over. His smile grew as his brown eyes were scanning the paper.
"This is amazing, I wish you could have started helping me sooner."
Standing with the paper before walking over to a corkboard that was close by, taking a push pin and pinning it to the board. Smiling to myself while watching him turn around and look at me once more.
"I'm glad you like it so much, Emmett."
"Thank you for making that. It really means a lot."
Giving a small smile while looking at me as I was sitting at his table still. Returning to his seat, we had both gone to continue our designs, reaching for the eraser, feeling my hand land on top of his. Turning slowly and looking at our hands for a moment, his fingers gently wrapped around mine for a moment. Lifting my head to turn and look at him, my (e/c) eyes meeting his chocolate brown ones. Looking at him as the milk chocolate of his eyes pulled me in and held me.
Blinking quickly before moving my hand away, both of us turning away. Feeling the heat in my cheeks as a smile grew across my face. Turning back to my paper for a moment before hearing Emmett sigh.
"Come on, I'll walk you home. I can't call myself a gentleman if I keep you out after curfew and don't walk you home."
Reaching out a hand to me to help me from my chair, placing my hand in his before standing up and stepping closer to him. Seeing him look down at me for a moment, blinking for a second before getting his jacket and walking with me out of the lab.
"Where do you live?" he asked as we walked down the sidewalk.
"On the corner of 5th and Main."
"That's not too far from here."
There was a slight pause as his voice faded away, looking around the dimly lit street while we were walking down the street. Feeling a chill shoot up my spine, a shiver coming up in reply, Emmett's eyes were on me shortly after.
Without a word Emmett opened the jacket he was carrying with him before putting it over my shoulders, Smiling gently and looking over at him.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it, you've done more than enough to help me in the last couple of weeks."
Once we got to the front of the house that I was still in the middle of lying about. Sighing gently while looking at the taller teen.
"When can you meet me tomorrow?"
Thinking for a moment humming before speaking.
"Tomorrow is what, Sunday? Do you have church or anything to go to before we can meet?"
Shaking his head after a second, a smile growing on his face.
"My Pop has never been one for church, and with my science, I haven't wanted anything more to focus on."
Nodding gently for a moment before smiling. "I can meet you at the diner at around 11."
Giving a nod and a quick wave, affirming the time, walking down the sidewalk back towards his house. Walking up the steps slowly and as quietly as I could, watching as he got out of my view before getting down to the sidewalk and making my way down to where I had found a place to stay.
Getting back to the little hideout, that I was calling a temporary home. Sitting down with a small huff before looking around. Feeling a cloth on my arm and looking down, I was still wearing Emmett's jacket that he put on me earlier. Smiling a little while rubbing my fingers along the soft wool. Clutching it in my hand gently, sighing as I thought more about the lie I gave him.
I know it's wrong for me to lie to him, but I'm not from this time. I can't give away anything of the future, it might disrupt everything. All I can do now is hope that nothing comes back to bite me in the future. Deciding to get some sleep before getting up in the morning to meet Emmett. Curling up in my sleeping bag for the night, sighing gently, and pulling the jacket closer.

I know this chapter is a bit shorter than the others but bear with me. The next one should continue with the normal length of these parts.
