Prologue

Well, this is a love story that you have probably heard before, the classic I fell in love with a werewolf story. However, this one is a little bit different from the others you've heard before.

This story begins in 1898. It was a bit of a peaceful time. For once in a lifetime, the werewolves and vampires were actually getting along really well. And it was all because of one girl, Rosalie Sheehan, whose name literally means peacemaker. She became best friends with both a werewolf named Alexander and one of her own kind, a vampire named Damian. Needless to say, the friendship didn't last very long.

So what happened to the friendship you may ask? Well, both Damian and Alexander fell in love with her. However, it was only Alexander who truly loved her for her. Damian only loved her for her beauty and he wanted her all to himself. He wanted to control her. The truth is, all Damian wanted was a beautiful slave who would do anything he asked. However, he didn't let Rosalie see that. He faked the whole nice guy act just so she would fall for him and not Alexander. He was good at it too, but Alexander knew him too well. He could see right through Damian's little act.

Alexander was the one who truly loved Rosalie. He cared about her more than anything, so he tried to warn her about Damian, but unfortunately, it was too late. She had already fallen under Damian's spell, and so she chose him over Alexander.

Well, as time passed, she soon realized that she made a terrible mistake. She began to despise Damian, for he was no longer the nice guy he pretended to be. He became mean, abusive, and extremely overprotective, so much so that he wouldn't even let her see Alexander anymore. She couldn't leave out of his sight either. But, worst of all, she was forced to cook, clean, and do whatever Damian wanted or else he would get angry with her. And when Damian got angry, it was scary. He would break things, throw stuff at her, and even hit her.

It finally got so bad that she just couldn't take it anymore. She had to get away from him. So one day she tried to talk to him and reason with him...

"I'm sorry, Damian. I just don't love you anymore." She turned to walk out the door but was yanked back by her arm, which caused her to yelp in pain.

He pulled her close to him "Oh no, you're not going anywhere, my darling. You chose me. Therefore, you belong to me."

...but there was no reasoning with Damian.

"Damian, please. Let me go. You're hurting my arm. Please just let me go."

He pulled her close to his face as his grip tightened around her arm, and growled, "You belong to me, Rosalie Sheehan." He threw her against the wall. "And don't you forget it."

She burst into tears and ran into her room. She was so scared. She didn't know what to do, but she knew she had to escape. Somehow, she got a message to Alexander, and that night he helped her escape. They ran away together and lived in the forest. She was always scared that one day Damian would find her and steal her again, but Alexander always comforted her.

"You don't have to worry about Damian anymore. I'm right here. I'm going to protect you. He's never going to hurt you again. I'm always going to take care of you. I promise. I love you, Rosalie Sheehan."

"I love you too, Alexander Phelan."

That night they shared a beautiful, passionate kiss under the moonlight that would bind them together for eternity.

They were so happy together. Everything was perfect...until that one fateful night when Damian found them. Alexander tried to protect Rosalie from Damian, but he wasn't strong enough. The last thing Rosalie saw before Damian took her away was Alexander's lifeless body lying broken under the moonlight.

Now that Damian had Rosalie back, he wanted to make her fall in love with him again. He tried multiple times but to no avail. She rejected him.

"I hate you, Damian! I will never love you! My heart will forever belong to Alexander! My one and only love, whom you killed!"

Her words made him furious, so he slapped her and said, "We'll see about that. I'll make you love me again."

She smirked. "You can hit me all you want, but like I said, I will never love you and my heart will forever be Alexander's."

He slapped her again and threw her in a coffin for one hundred years to starve as punishment. When he finally opened the coffin again, her skin was pale and she was barely breathing.

He fed her and asked, "So, did you change your mind? Do you love me now?" He grinned menacingly.

She said, "No! I hate you!"

He smirked. "Well, maybe this will change your mind."

He tried to kiss her, but she pulled away from him and slapped him. "What are you doing? I told you, 'I will never love you!' Like I said years ago, 'my heart only belongs to Alexander.' Forever!" she screamed.

Furious, Damian growled, "We'll see about that." Then he snatched her up by her wrist, causing the bones in it to break from his excruciatingly painful grip. She yelped in pain, unable to get away as he dragged her into a dark room that looked almost like a prison.

He tied her hands tight above her head with vervain-soaked ropes and forced vervain-covered iron shackles around her ankles, causing her flesh to burn. She cried out in pain and he slapped her.
"Be quiet or I'm going to make it ten times worse," he growled as he walked over to a table and picked up the vampire cure. Then he forced it down her throat and growled once more. "You will love me again someday."

She spat in his face. "No! I'll never love you! You're a monster! You killed the love of my life!" Her voice broke. "So you might as well kill me too.... Go ahead. Kill me.... I see that there's a stake over there. Drive it through my heart right now. Come on. End this nightmare and go find yourself another slave to abuse. Come on, kill me, or are you scared? You are scared, aren't you? Well, you shouldn't be. I mean it was so easy for you to kill Alexan...."

He interrupted her rant by stabbing her with a syringe of vervain. "Shut up!"

She screamed in pain as he latched onto her chin tightly, blood dripping from her lips. He smirked. "You will love me again someday."

She spat the blood into his face and yelled, "No! I'll always hate you! I'll only ever love Alexander! I'll never love you!"

Infuriated by her words, he swung his fist into her head, knocking her out. He hissed, "Oh yes, you will." He kissed her. "I'll make sure of it, my darling."
