"Welcome my warriors." Look a  like faced creature came up on the screen.

"Were not warriors. We're kids" Luke stated back

"None of those before you had the initiative to escape the holding deck. None forced my return to the ship. You are good warrior stock." Was the response.

"We're not cattle either." I snapped.

"This is such rubbish."

"You have proved yourself in the arena. You have the hearts of heroes. You will not suffer our enemies to live and we will honour your sacrifice."

"That can sometimes be questionable. Who are you anyway?"I asked the alien who had originally stopped our escape and not the computer, I had yet to determine whether it was a program or a two way conversation.

"General Kudlack of the Uvodni Army." I blew out a big breath, surprised, I had never met a Uvodni before only heard about them.

"Uvodni, blimey you are a long way from home. What are you doing here on earth? Kidnapping children." I questioned scratching the corner of my eye that was itching.

"We are..." I sushed the woman on the scream

"Face to face people talking." I snipped the turned my attention back to the General who seemed offended  huh a Uvodni warrior could be offended by me, just like my Dad.

"You dishonour my mistress."

"Face bovvered." I gestured  to my expression

"No offence but I think you're getting a bit mixed up here. Back in the arena, we were playing." Clyde sassed

"And what is playing if not preparation for life."

"Okay, you're looking for soldiers, warriors to fight some war. But what happened to free will. We play for different reasons. It does not mean we're training for battle. War's go on all the time we have our own problems to deal with. Fight your own battle and let us go home." There was a crack and we looked back

"Luke!" I headed over to him and he was trying to get a look at the controls.

"Such determination. Such loyalty to each other. You have chosen well, Kudlak." the computer spoke again.

"Suppose we refuse to fight. What then?" Luke questioned which Kudlak did not like at all.

"Then you will be cowards. You will not fall as heroes. never the less you will die." he insisted and I rolled my arms moving around

"I doubt it. Once the shadow proclamation hear of your activities." I commented glancing back

"And what would a child know of such things."

"Trust me Lady I'm no ordinary child." I smirked proudly

"Take them away." the slabs surrounded us and I moved back to Luke.

"Luke your phone is still working right?" I asked my best friend in a lowered voice as to not attract attention.,

"Yeah."

"Good it's time we get some proper answers." We were taken back to the holding bay and when they left the others were talking while me and Luke were working at the control panel. I slipped on my glassed and took out a hair pin managing to take the casing off and mess with the wires.

"What did you mean by you humans." Luke questioned me

"Humm"  

"Only it sounded as if you didn't count yourself as one." I looked up at him, then stopped what I was doing to talk to him fully.

"Luke. My life is more complicated than I let on. If we're gonna be saving and defending the world together, I'm gonna say and do things that someone like me generally shouldn't know. I need you to trust me that when the time is right I will tell you and the others everything. But it's a lot safer right now if you don't know the full story."  I explained to him and he though for a moment before giving me a reassuring smile.

"Okay" He put his hand on my shoulder "I trust you." I kissed his cheek

"Thank you. Now, We're gonna need Clyde's phone." he nodded and went over to my brother

"Can I borrow your mobile, Clyde."

"We're in your space. Who are you going to ring? Captain Kirk." I got out my phone and wired it in. I need a plan b or c whatever letter, if I couldn't all this off then a distress signal would bring him here.

"Who?"

"Oh, just don't break it." Luke came back.

"What are you doing?"

"Mauve distress signal. I'm thinking if we can't find anything better have a back up. I need you to get into the ships database." I requested and he did so, setting up a program to send a distress signal to a time and space ship, wasn't as easy as it looked. Thank fully I had a good teacher, the Tardis herself.

"Only way we're getting of here is if they send us into the middle of some alien war." Luke nudged me. I looked at Clyde's phone.

"Or we steal a shuttle craft." Luke called back, the two of us stood up and mad your way over.

"What did you say?" Clyde asked

"I wired Clyde's phone into the ships computer. " I was typing furiously on my phone.

"He did what?"

"Sorry, my friend and sister are bit of a geek." Clyde retorted and I looked up sticking my tongue out at him, then went back to finishing the program.

"This is the plan of the spacecraft."

"Like the Isle of Wight ferry." Lance beamed

"Yeah, the ferry. Yeah." I drawled rolling my eyes, shaking my head as Luke continued to explain

"Here this is where they took us to see  the Mistress. And this I'm pretty sure is a..." Clyde cut him off

"Shuttlecraft. Genius."

"Yeah genius. He can wire your phone into an alien computer but can you fly and Alien shuttlecraft." Jen replied but my brother didn't seem fazed.

"He can wire my phone into an alien computer." Clyde focused on that. Finishing the program I closed my phone and tucked it back in my pocket

"I can."

"Yeah right. " Jen scoffed

"I'm no normal child. We get to the craft we can go home." I told them confidently, it was no longer a surprise when people underestimated me. I just eventually proved them wrong.

"It makes no difference wether you can fly or not. We're not going anywhere."

"Want a wager." He nodded at me and I opened the door. They all grinned and left.

"Bet. Is a bet mate."  Clyde corrected him and I shook my head

"Not now Clyde." We joined the others to get back to the spacecraft. Luke and I led the others through the corridors of the ship to the shuttle that would take us home.

" Not far now."

"What was it first right or second right?" Jen asked

"Second." Lance replied

"No first. It was first!" We turned the corner and came face to face with slabs.

"Oh, no" We turned right but they were there too. We found another walk way and ran down it. The slabs were hot on our tale, but we lost them for the moment in time.

"We can't fight for them if they grease us." Clyde stated

"Maybe we're just too much trouble." Jen replied

"Oh yeah, we rock" they high five and i turned to continue

"What now?" Lance stressed as we came to a locked door.

"Lance just stay calm."

"I'm losing calm as an option, Kate." Clyde grumbled and I turned to him resting my hand on his shoulder in comfort.

"Come on brother. Have a little faith. When have I ever let you down...in serious matters that is " I chimed then turned serious for a second.

"Right I'm past worried, not  even stopping at anxious. I'm into panicked totally beyond reason. Will you two get a move on."

"Oh, my gosh" i breathed seeing what was coming on my phone." The door opened and the others went through. "Well, that is what I call a plot twist."

"You're enjoying this." Jen sneered but I ignored the comment

"Here look at this." I showed them but was interrupted by shots. We closed the door behind us.

"Luke, take a look at this." I handed him my phone.

"This can't be possible. Clyde look at what we found in the computer banks." Luke called my brother

"Not now, Luke. Later."

"Clyde look the shuttlecraft."

"We made it" I grinned and we made our way down after hearing someone coming. We were nearing our way out when Kudlak stopped us.

"Warriors I salute you. Yours is, without a doubt, the finest war blood. I've been honoured together. And now it is time to leave to take your place on the Uvodni front line. We were taken to the Mistress. I panicked and pressed enter on my phone.

"Mistress the warriors are ready for...intruders!"

"Execute them Kudlak." The mistress ordered

"Mum!" Luke called as we saw Sarah Jane and Maria, who had been captured, so much for a rescue party eh.

"And I had such hopes for you warrior."

"No!" Clyde and I yelled running over to them. We were pulled back

"None of them are warriors, they're children!" Sarah Jane pleaded

"War changes everything."

"Arrgh" I high kicked the slab causing him to let go the others converged on me and I  fought them off. The grabbed one of the guns and aimed it at Kudlak  "Stop." I ordered as I focused my aim. The slabs stopped at the threat of the General. "The war is over." I told him

"What is this?"

"Luke tell him." he came over and took my phone out of my back  pocket. Going over to the computer and plugging my phone in

"Lies, Kudlak, Execute them."

"Kate found this is your computer banks." Luke held up the phone.

"This is trickery." Kudlak growled

"No! Let him show you!"

"We hacked into your ships computer. that's how we escaped" I lowered the gun down and dropped it to the floor as Luke played the transmission.

"This is your emperor. We have agreed an armistice with the Malakh. After all these centuries, peace at last. Come home all my proud warriors. Come home. We have much to rebuild." Kudlak swung round

"What Malakh subterfuge is this?"

"It's true." I walked closer

"Kaite." Sarah Jane warned

"We found it. Believe it. The war is over. According to what we found that message. It's ten years old." I told him the truth, he was having a hard time comprehending it, not that I blamed him.

"10 years? The Mistress would have told me, we would have gone home. This is a trick. You wish to destroy us."

"Why would we want to do that? Open your eyes The Mistress has been feeding you lies for all this time. We want to live in peace with the rest of galaxy.

"But mistress is this true. Is the war ended all these years?" there was no reply. I had figured out that it was a program and why the message hadn't gotten through.

"You don't want to go home do you mistress? Without a war there is no need for her or you. You're just another scrapped program." I stated

"Is this true."

"Peace does not compute"

"What?" Maria asked. I repeated the same thing as if it was on a default

"She's a computer!" Luke chimed

"She buried the message from your emperor." Sarah Jane added

"I am not programmed for peace. This scenario does not compute. It cannot be real." the mistress faltered

"But it is and it has been for a long time. You never expected it to end so your computers weren't programmed to recognise it." I sighed

"Peace is an anomaly. Without war I cannot exist."

"The point of the war was to achieve peace for our home." Kudlak argued.

"Our home is on the battlefield. Peace is a strangers land. We have no place there." Sarah Jane pulled me back, I gently shrugged her off, I could handle myself.

"You may not but I do. All these years of peace wasted. I thought the Malakh were my enemy but it was you. I will not suffer my enemies  to live."

"Duck!" I called as Kudlack shot the screen

"The mistress is dead and I have committed an unforgivable crime against your world. You are free and my life is yours to take." he knelt before me and held up his gun.

"Taking life is never the first answer Kudlak."  I told him taking the gun and throwing it away.I crouched down and helped him up." whether we've been wronged my one man or a whole planet. It's always the innocents that suffer."

"I'm not innocent. But maybe I can find some of those who were. The ones I sent far away and that still survive. Perhaps I can return them and one day find some peace for myself."

"I hope you can General Kudlak." Sarah Jane turned to us "We're leaving now."  the teleport. I programmed our decent

"Everyone ready for decent." I asked and pressed enter to send us back down.

2We all came out and i laughed holding onto Luke's arm. Jen came over and kissed Luke on the cheek. my mouth dropped

"That was a kiss."

"You saved our skin Luke. Both of you did. In fact." She kissed him on the lips. I started laughing as they all left. We took Lance home and watched as he hugged his mum. They turned and waved to us before going  inside.

"I bet he doesn't tell her where he's been."

"Are you joking? How many people really get to go up into space? Like er no one. She won't be able to shut him up." Clyde retorted.

"She won't believe a word of it but she won't want him to stop." Sarah Jane smiled

"I wonder if he'll be a solider like his dad?" Maria wondered

"Well after today he might want to be an astronaut. The first man on Mars...Well human man." I joked We all got in the car.

"Are you alright Luke?"

"Yeah." He smiled at his mum before getting in."

"You two were heroes out there. All that stuff with my mobile and yours it was brilliant!" Clyde complimented slapping our shoulders.

"You all needed us. I felt like I belonged."

"So what's with the silence?" I asked

"I've been thinking about something else. Clyde you know you said anything I wanted to know. Just ask."

"Encyclopidea Clydannica . I'm your man."

"Tell me about girls."

"Oh man" I started laughing as we drove off
