"Hello, loves. How was your day." Mum greeted us when we got home from school. Clyde was in front of me when I led the door.

"It was cool, Clyde and me made two new friends. Maria and Luke. Although the food was disgusting, it was mouldy and off." I told her dropping my bag and removed my hoodie  and hung it up.

"Yeah we're starving." Clyde complained plopping himself on the sofa.

"Well tea will be ready soon, why don't you go and changed." We nodded and did so. After tea I was sat watching tv with Clyde. It was some boring show and i nearly feel asleep but then the power went off.

"Power cut."

"I'll get the torch." i sighed and stood up going to the cupboard where we kept our emergency stuff. I turned it and and it shone but then went out.

"humm must be a dead battery." I mumbled rubbing my eyes

"I'll get the candles, Clyde sighed and we tried lighting them but they wouldn't catch. That when i went really odd. One by one the candles lit themselves and then the torch came on before all the electrics.

"That was weird." i commented

It was the next day, Clyde and Me decided to skateboard to school after making our own pack Lunch. Our first lesson was science with Mr Jeffery.

"A transformer is a devices that changes the voltage of an alternating current supply, the AC supply. Such as your...our mains electrical supply. Anybody know who invented the first transformer." I put my hand up and so did Luke.

"You" he pointed to Luke and I put my hand down as my new friend answered.

"Faraday"

"Correct"

"Although he didn't know what he could use it for." I turned and looked  at him. It was true but not many people knew that, I did but most others I met didn't and thought I was weird for knowing that.

"What?"

"Faraday didn't know what he invented. And i thought about it too, you could get rid of the transformers and  get a better system and induct power instead."

"Just pointing out i have nothing to do with him" other in the class laughed and I rolled my eyes and shoved my brothers shoulder. But he just had this broad cheeky smile, thinking he was so flipping funny.

"Quiet, name."

"Clyde Langer."

"Troublemaker. Noted"

"Okay" Clyde grinned i groaned and covered up my face. He was so embarrassing, I went back to trying to concentrating on the lesson. Most of what was being taught I knew already but whatever.

"You're cool because you make trouble. Should I make trouble?" Luke wondered

"No, defiantly not. You're good as you are." i leaned forward to talk to them and discourage Luke from joining in with my brothers antics.

"I hear talking" Mr Jeffery groaned. We went back to doing whatever and i knew Clyde started eating.

"What are you doing?" Mr Jeffery asked

"My pen's run out i'm getting a new one." Mr Jeffery came over and using togs took the bag containing my brother's lunch ad sniffed it. To him it smelled disgusting.

"Ugh. What is it?"

"Cold chip sandwich. Made it this morning.  Not chancing my life in that canteen again." Mr Jeffery took it away and put it in a tank.

"Oi. what you doing you can't do that."

"You can wait till lunchtime and use the canteen like everyone else." he snapped at us. I stood up defesily my chair scraping as I did.

"What and get food poisoning. We can report you for that" Mr Jeffery looked at me closely.

"Go on, try it" He farted again and the bell. We started packing up

"Okay for tomorrow 1,000 words on transformers." I groaned along with everyone else.

"Two thousand"

The third day went by as usual, Maria, Clyde and I all sat outside. Clyde had gotten chips from near by and i reached over to nick one.

"Oi" i grinned at him and munched happily on my chip before going back to my own lunch. Maria was talking on the phone with someone.

"Okay, talk to you later. Bye" she hung up

"Who was that? Clyde and I asked

"No one" she replied and went back to her lunch as if nothing happened, we shrugged it off not wanting to pry.

After school we saw Maria and Luke Clyde went between both and  went next to Luke, Both of us putting a arm around them.

"What you doing" we both chimed, honestly sometimes we could both be twins we know each other that well.

"Gonna investigate the new block." Luke replied

"I had left something in the new block" i furrowed my eyebrows. Something seemed off and intriguing so I decided to be nosy and come along.

"I'll come with. Later boys" i walked with her.

"You don't have to come with me" Maria smiled

"It's alright. Besides i needed to take time away from my brother. I love him but he get's on my nerves." She laughs nervously.

"So, you're adopted?" she made conversation

"Yep, left on my parents doorstep when i was a week old. Been with them ever since." I answered adjusting my back pack and my skateboard.

"What about your real parents?" She looked around while we were walking into different classrooms.

"Mother didn't want me and Father loved me but couldn't take care of me. I see him sometimes."  We entered one of the computer rooms and just about to leave through another door when one opened behind us. Maria dragged me down and told me to stay quiet.

"Who's that?" It was Mr Jeffery. I felt my instinct take over, my Dad had a thing for running and clearly it was past on to me. We hid under a desk.

"Hello?" he drawled

"I know you're in here, i can smell the both of you" i heard him sniffing "Oh two little girls. Fresh as daisies . Sugar and spice and all things nice,." He slammed his hands on the table. I got up ready to run.

"They really shouldn't be hanging around school after home time, not when i've got no reason to hide any longer in this stupid skin" i decided to see what was going on and the both of us looked under the desk "After all why should I hide." there was this zipping noise and blue light and grunting. I saw Mr Jeffery's skin drop on the floor and we peered out.

"I am Slitheen."

"Run" we got up and headed for the second exit and ran.  I grabbed her hand and ran faster, it was times like this i was glad  it took after my father. I saw Clyde and skidded to a stop.

"We need to get out of here now" she said

"No kidding, Maria" i looked at her panting slightly, looking back, we hadn't been followed, yet, but there was always a chance.

"Where's Luke?" she ignored my comment

"I know you're out there girls." i snapped my head back round as i tried to get Clyde to come with me

"It's only Mr Jeffery" no you idiot it's an alien

"There's another one! a boy"

"Oh you are sad, what's he gonna do give you a detention." just then he came round the corner.

"Come on!" I pulled him away and we ran to the lobby.  We ran one way and it was a dead end so we ran back and down the stairs. We hid under the stairs.

"Children, Children. Come to me." we saw the slitheen walk past upstairs. Not noticing us hiding, a breathed a small sigh of relief.

"We've got to get out of here"

"We can't, we need to fight them" i replied

"Quick in here." the boy from yesterday gestured to come over. We followed him into the class room, I held a hand to my head trying to come up with something, anything to get out of this.

"So where's Jeffery, I heard him?" Clyde asked

"That's Jeffery. That thing that was chasing us." Maria replied

"I'll believe it, why not."  We turned to Carl.

"Thanks is there a way out through here?" I asked

"No. There's no way out." he grinned then farted before my smile dropped this couldn't be happening.

"Oh, no." his skin dropped off and it was a mini version of the other one.

"I'm a child Slitheen and this is my hunt!"
