"Without the sonic thin we can't stop them! They'll get us before the can even reach them." Clyde complained as we made our way down stairs and leaving for the school.

"Don't be such a downer bro!" i called back to him.

"If you can't say anything useful, go home." Sarah Jane snipped as I landed at the bitten then i stopped remembering something and swag around to face my brother.

"Wait, Clyde you remember this morning, Slitheen Jeffery went mad and nicked your bag?"

"Yeah, What's a Slitheen gonna care about that? You both saw him he sniffed it, he was scared " Clyde caught on to where I was going, this happened growing up with each other, despite not being blood related we bounced off each other with ideas.

"What are you two talking about?" Sarah Jane asked

"No now we're on a roll" i held my hand up to her but not taking my eyes off Clyde as we talked it out. "What was your lunch again?"

"Cold chip sandwich, you know me we weren't gonna anything from the canteen of death." he answered

"So what the Slitheen are allergic to potato? Bread?" i asked

"No Slitheen in the office had a sandwich." I heard Sarah Jane in the background adding to our conversation, which was duly noted as the two of us continued.

"Okay so what did you put on the chips?" i asked mt brother

"Salt and Viniger." I thought about it

"Salt must be it" Maria chimed

"If the Slitheen are made mostly from water, It would dehydrate them, like slugs." the conversation in the background continued.

"No, they put extra salt in everything, bread, butter. it's got to be something else." Clyde and I looked at each other ecstatic light a big lightbulb had gone off above our heads.

"It's gotta be the vinegar!" we grinned at one another.

"That acetic acid. It reacts with calcium. The slitheen are made of calcium" I chimed

"We're right it is the vinegar" we fist pumped each other. We were so awesome, we just bounced of each other like always. We found out when we were little that if we did things together as a team we were just awesome.

"Kitchen"  we followed into the kitchen and watched as Maria and Luke drained whatever that had vinegar in it.

"So what we gonna do, stand there and throw picked eggs at them?"

"Please don't ruin the cool moment we just had" I whined to him, he always did this, we'd be awesome and then he would put a dampener on it some how. Though he was waiting longer each time before the damper came.

"get it into these" Sarah Jane handed them squeeze bottles

"I was joking" Clyde retorted as i took the bottles and  poured the vinegar inside, there was one for each of us, though I doubt how far we would get but at least be had something, which was always better than nothing.

"The car won't start. How do we get back to school?" i asked

"We run" We did exactly that and started running to school.

"Right so all this alien stuff, you being doing it for years?" Clyde asked, i loved my brother but  yet again he chose this moment to start asking questions

"Not, now Clyde." Sarah Jane huffed but my brother would not let up from his interrogation.

"Did you actually go up to the career guy at school and say I want to defend the plant from alien invasions?" he continued

"Not exactly."

"So how did it start?"

"It's a long story and if we survive i'll be happy to tell you." we came to a halt when the sun went a icy blue and white colour.

"What's happening?" Clyde  questioned

"It's transduction like the candles" Luke and  I said then looked at each other, i blushed i really had to stop being so in tune with other people, or was it just being a smart ass. I got it from Dad, that was defiantly genetics.

"The switched off the sun" Maria stated

"They're draining it's power." i added "And it's getting cold."

"We've got about 32 and half minutes." Luke informed us.

"We're all gonna die." Clyde stressed, oh he had a lot to learn if he was going to be involved or if he ever found out about the part of me that was hidden.

"I've told you we're going to stop them!" Sarah Janes started running again

"The five of us? With vinegar squeezes"

"If we can't be hanging around i suggest we run faster."

"Kate don't start showing off" i ignored him and picked up my pace and arrived before the others. I stopped and waited for them to arrive.

"How did you get here so fast" Maria asked and i just smiled. The doors were open, like they wanted us here. We walked  through the halls and to the stair case.

"They just let us walk in here." Clyde wondered

"They want us here." Luke added

"Well what luck because we want to be in here. Secret room?" Sarah Jane asked her son

"It's this way." We went to leave when we heard Mr Blakeman.

"Ah human children. Th stench of haribo  and chicken nuggets." i went to spray him but i was pulled away.

"Get off this planet." Sarah Jane ordered

"Shh! Now it's time to hunt. The hunt is the instinct with us, the only way to keep our food safe in the days when baaraddelskelliumfatexius beasts wandered the plains of Raxacoricofallapatorius."

"A what?" i wondered

"Like giant squirrels. We killed them all. centuries ago. But the hunting insinct remains"

"Now!" Three of us started squirting the vinegar at him

"Vinegar, get back!" Maria grinned

"Sarah Jane, this way."

"Maria"

"Go you do your bit we'll do ours" she nodded and ran off

"One step further" Clyde warned but his started jamming. We backed off as he came at us.

"Keep back!" i looked down and started unscrewing  the cap.

"You're afraid. A slitheen girl your age would do it, wouldn't think twice. But all the fights gone out of you. You just stand there shaking in your shoes. That's why we survive that's thy you're losers, all of you on this rubbish planet. That's why we win!" i threw the vinegar at him. he cried out, Maria had the same idea as well.

"Oops" then he exploded. I winced but then looked down as i was covered in slime.

"We did it" Maria looked at me "We exploded the headmaster!" we grinned and high fived each other.

"We have to go." i said

"But we've run out of vinegar." Maria  sighed

"We could fill them up with water." Clyde stated

"That will never work" Maria retorted

"It might, come on." we did that and went to find Sarah Jane and Luke. Clyde ran in first.

"Turn it off there's vinegar in this!" Two masked Slitheen grabbed us and took the bottle away. I struggled to get out of their hold.

"That's a bluff" the woman holding my brother sneered

"Told you it wouldn't work."

"If I reset the system you can cancel the overload, make it safe" Luke looked over

"Yes"

"Right. Son, reset they system." Mr Jeffery said and Carl went to do as he was told. Everything shut down and calmed down.

"It's reset. They system's off. I'll just have to synchronise the mega wattage." We saw Sarah Jane pull out her sonic lipstick and test it.

"Now" he pulled down a leaver and Sarah Jane backed away.

"Daddy!" Carl cried out.

"Mum!" Sarah Jane threw the sonic and Luke caught it running  he made the system explode. Clyde shielded me

"It's gonna blow up!"

"Out now!" we ran out of the room. We backed away and saw Jeffery and Carl.

"You can't leave us in here! Use your sonic device. Open the door." I started to feel sorry, he seemed genuinely scared

"I'm only 12" Carl whimpered

"He's my son! Please, let him live."

"Luke" Sarah Jane held her hand out for the sonic.

"You can't let them out." Before she could do anything though they were gone and the door closed. The lights came on and i turned to walk away.

"We did it" the others were gleeful.

"He was a child. Twelve years old" I agreed with that she was saying

"It was them or us"

"He was a child Clyde" i huffed and walked in front of them. Sometimes saving the world left a bitter taste in your mouth. Apparently it never got any better, it was something that I would have to learnt to live with.
