Mary's eyes fluttered open, groaning at the pain in her abdomen, feeling the pull of the stitches. She presses the button to raise the bed into as much as an upright position her body she can take.

A nurse walks in, seeing her awake, "Get me a laptop, preferably one of Tony Stark's, don't ask questions, just do it." She states, watching the nurse run off.

She fiddles with her air tubes, she leaves them in knowing she still needs them as the nurse comes back with Tony's laptop.

The doctor smirks as she opens it on the table hovering over her, she taps in the log in code, pushing a button and seeing a earpiece slide out. She takes it and puts it into her ear, pressing it as she types some things, "Let's see how much i learned from your Hacking 101, T." She murmurs as the earpiece picks up the fight and conversation between Tony and everyone.

"Sir, I believe your godmother is awake and attempting to join the coms between you and the others." He states to Tony, but Mary can hear everything.

"Miss me?" She asks the group, hearing Nat, and another voice, she knows as agent Barton.

"Lizzie?!" She hears her brother.

"Hi Stevie." She replies, smiling as she hacks into Jarvis, more really Jarvis let her in to see what Tony's seeing.

"Mama Ree, you doing okay?" Tony asks.

"Stitches hurt, and i still need the pumped air. But other than that i'm okay." She states, "What's happening on your end?" She asks as the screen clears itself. "Tony you have an alien behind you." She states, seeing Tony turn around and kill it.

"How the hell did you see that?" Tony asks.

"I hacked Jarvis into letting me see what you see through your helmet." She states proudly.

"I let her in, Sir." Jarvis retorts.

Mary huffs, "Shh, Vis!" She exclaims quietly, "You ruined it.." she murmurs, crossing her arms, pouting a little.

Mary and Tony both see a giant flying alien coming towards them, Tony was trying to break open from the side but it wasn't working.

"Jarvis, Ree, you remember the tale about Jonah?" Tony asks them.

"Sir, i don't recommend-" Jarvis is cut off as Tony flies into the mouth of the alien, making it explode from the inside out.

"Tony, i was fine never knowing what the inside of an alien looked like." Mary quips, gagging.

"Sorry, Mama Ree." Tony replies.

"Stark! Do you hear me? You have a missile heading straight for the city!" Mary hears Fury say. Her eyes widening.

"That stupid council! I told Howard we shouldn't have a council, but did he listen? No." She rambles, still on the pain medicine.

"How long?!" Tony asks, ignoring Mary.

"Three minutes, at best. Stay low and wipe out the missile." Fury replies, "Mary?!" He adds surprised

"Hi Nick." She murmurs as she sees Tony getting attacked by more Chitauri aliens, "Vis, put everything the suit has into the thrusters."

"I just did." Jarvis replies as Tony makes the Iron Man suit fly away from the soldiers.

Mary then hears Natasha over the coms, "I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!"

"Do it!" Steve yells into his earpiece.

"No, wait!" Mary yells.

"Mary, these things are still coming!" Steve states.

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it." Tony says as he flies as fast as he can to catch the missile.

Mary's godson grabs hold of the missile, flying straight towards the portal opening.

"Stark, you know that's a one way trip." Mary hears Steve.

"Save the rest for return, J." Tony murmurs.

"Sir. Shall i call Miss Potts?"

"You might as well." Tony says, Mary looks to the computer screen, seeing him attempting to call Pepper, but she isn't picking up. Tony continues to hold tight to the missile, directing it straight into the portal.

Mary's eyes widen as she hers her com go dead on Tony's line, "Tony?" She asks, seeing her screen go dark, "Tony!" She screams, yelling out in pain as her stitches open, alerting the nurses and doctors into her room.

"Mary?!" She hears Steve, but the pain consumes her and knocks her unconscious.

When Mary wakes up next, she's surrounded by people, she looks up, seeing her brother covered in ash and blood, then she turns her eyes to see Barton, Natasha, Thor and Banner.

"T- Tony." She stutter out, her hazel eyes filling with tears, remembering the last thing she saw of her godson was fly the missile into space and lose her connection.

Steve chuckles a little, "He's fine. He's out getting us all something called Schwarma." He tells her.

"He is? He's okay?" She asks impatiently.

Just then, Tony walks into the room, "I come bearing the gift of food!" He shouts, drawing all eyes onto him, he locks eyes with his godmother. He sets the food down as he rushes to her side.

Mary slaps the backside of his head, "Never do something like that again!" She shouts, wincing at her stitches.

Tony winces, chuckling, "I don't make the sacrifice play, huh?" He quips, glancing up at Steve.

Mary sighs, then looks at them, "I heard something about Schwarma?" She asks, Tony nods as he grabs the bag of food, handing the sandwiches to each team member.

"You really scared us, Lizzie." Steve mutters as he eats his food.

Mary nods, "I know, i'm sorry. But i'm not sorry for trying to stop Loki." She states as she opens her sandwich up, seeing that Tony had gotten her her favorite.

"It was foolish and idiotic, Lady Mary." Thor pipes in, staring down at his sandwich, not knowing what to make of it before eating it.

"Sounds about right for me." She replies, smiling, "Last time i did something foolish and idiotic, was host Thanksgiving dinner nine months pregnant." She states, laughing at the memory, "I went into labor that day, scared the crap out of Tony's dad, and all the Howling Commandos, Peggy was the only calm one."

All eyes are on her, "You have a child?" Banner asks.

Mary nods, "Rebecca Sofia Barnes." She answers, "Cutest little spitfire you will ever meet."

"Where is she?" Natasha asks.

"I don't know." Mary replies solemnly, eating her sandwich.

"What do you mean you don't know?" Clint asks.

"She was taken from me in 1950." The mother replies, "Men broke into Howard's house, her and I were staying there at the time, and kidnapped her. She was five."

All eyes that didn't know the story had widened in shock, "Do you have any idea where she might be?" Thor asks.

Tony looks up, "I've been trying to find her since i could hack into a database at the age of ten." He states, "There's no trace of her."

"That doesn't mean we give up." Bruce states.

"We?" Mary asks, looking around the room.

Thor nods, as do everyone in the room, "I have a friend in Asgard that can help, he sees everyone in the nine realms. I'll ask him when i return Loki and the tesseract back home." He states.

Tony looks at Mary, "We're the Avengers for a reason." He points out, "We'll find her, or be damn sure we'll avenge her."

Mary smiles at her team, squeezing Steve and Tony's hands, "Thank you."
