Ryan stared at the necklace unsure of what to think. Something clicked in his head and he remembered what Alex told him.

   "There is no way the accident was done by a random person. The culprit knew where all the cameras pointed, he was careful enough not to be seen by any one of the security cameras."

    Olivia knew every hook and cranny of the office. The stairs wasn't opened to just anyone, it was mostly for him but... Olivia knew the stairs so well because she used it often. Then again, what was the use of pushing Mia off, what was her reason. As far as he knew, Mia and Olivia got along well.

   "Alright, there is a Josie Adams. I also found out why she looks so familiar. She was this chick you dated back then.......

     "Yeah, you dated her for awhile. Remember James? James Collard?....

    "You know this rivalry shit between you and James back then, remember you took his girlfriend away from him.....

     "After your breakup, she shut herself out. Some say she was hurt pretty bad.... "

    Olivia was Josie Adams, of course! Was it possible she had something to do with Mia's disappearance? It would be that Olivia wanted him instead? What was that she said again...

       ".... Revenge is best served cold... Clueless aren't you..."

    Oh shit! If his hunch was right, Olivia was the one that had Mia. He needed to be sure.

    Ryan ran out of his office, he immediately phoned the head of the HR department to provide home details of Olivia. Before he left the building, the HR department had sent it. He drove alone to Olivia's house.

     "You better not have anything to do with Mia's disappearance Olivia, because I won't care how much you've helped me, I will bring you down." He said to himself. He turned on his phone speaker to send a voicemail to Alex. "Alex, I'm on my way to Olivia's house, I have a feeling she took Mia. Can't explain everything, but if my hunch is right, I'll inform you immediately."

     Mia woke up on hearing the basement door open. Her hearing senses had heightened due to pressure and fear. It was Ares, he went over to her, unlocking the shackles. He removed the tape over her mouth.

    "Where... Where are we going?" Mia was confused.

      "I'm taking you away from here, we're going home." He told her. "Can you stand?" He tried pulling her up.
Mia shook her head. "It's okay, I'll carry you."  He said, lifting her in bridal style.

   "Ares I want to see my daughter." She said to him.

      "You don't need to see her. Olivia will take care of your daughter, trust me." He said, opening the door of the basement.

    "Please... Just give my daughter. I'm not leaving without my daughter." She struggled to get out of his arms. "Let me go! Let me go!"

    "Shut up!" He snapped at her as he tried to retain her. Mia slipped away, landing onto the floor on her butt.

   She tried to crawled away .

    "You want the hard way? Fine!!" He said, angrily taking her by the hair and dragging her down the kitchen.

     "Ares! Ares! Ares!" Mia screamed as she was dragged by the hair.

     Ares dragged her down the door, tossing her to a corner. He pulled out a gun, pointing it at her. "Get up." He commanded. "I said get up now!"

   Mia leaned against the wall for support, trying to get up.

      "You're testing me Mia. If you don't stand up, I'll fucking blow your brains out!!" He spluttered angrily.

     Mia slowly got out, holding a table for support. "I... I can't." She struggled to stand on her painful legs.

      "You're gonna be a good girl, you're gonna walk to the back door. Do you understand?"

     Mia sniffled... "I'm not leaving without my daughter."

      Ares glared at her. "Maybe I should put a bullet through her brains first." Ares said, walking up the stairs.

      "A-Ares! What are you... Ares!" Mia slipped to the floor, crawling to the stairs. "Ares don't hurt her! I'm begging!!! I'll go with you!! I'll go with you!" Mia sobbed louder. "Ares I'll go with you. Don't hurt my daughter."

    In no time, Ares brought little Kenny. She didn't know what was going on.

      "Ares... Let her go." Mia sobbed.

   "Kenny, come with me." Ares took Kenny's hand.

     "Where's mommy?" Kenny asked.

     Mia shook her head. "Ares I already said I'll go with you. Leave her alone." She slowly stood up, holding onto stair railings.

     "Let. Go. Of. Her. Right now." Olivia had stepped in, holding out another gun, pointing it to Ares. She was so furious. She had been outside, placing all her things in the car.

      Ares tightened his grip around Kenny's wrist. "She's the reason why Mia won't go with me. It's best I —"

     Olivia fired a shot right above his head. "You take your fucking hand off my daughter or I swear to God, your head will roll down the stairs. Dare me." Olivia threatened, looking very mad.

      "Don't do this. Don't do this." Mia stood crying helplessly. "Don't hurt my daughter."

     Ares released Kenny's wrist.

     "Kenny go up to your room now, lock the door, don't come out till I say so." Olivia told her.

     "But mommy I'm scared." Kenny's eyes watered.

     "Baby, it's okay. I'm here now, no one's going to hurt you. Do what mommy says." Olivia told her.

     Kenny nodded before turning to return to her room.

      "You fucking bastard!!" Olivia rushed to Mia, pulling her by the hair and pointing the gun on her temple. "I'm going to kill this woman!!" She yelled out at Ares. "How dare you involve my daughter in this mess?! You fucking lunatic, she's just a kid!!" Olivia raged on, having a tight grip on Mia's hair.

     "Olivia please... O-Olivia." Mia begged for her life.

      "You let Mia go right now." Ares faced the gun at Olivia.

     "You can't get through me without hitting her. Say goodbye to your precious woman!" Olivia pressed the gun against Mia's temples.

     Mia gathered all the little strength she had, elbowing Olivia on the stomach. It took Olivia by surprise, and she staggered, clutching her stomach.  Mia turned to Olivia giving her a punch on the face, twice. She reached out for the gun, grabbing it with her hands but Olivia had a good grip on it.

     Olivia pushed Mia to a corner, still struggling for the gun, firing gunshots carelessly.

       "I'll kill you, you bitch!" Olivia said, trying to get the gun away.

     Ares aimed carefully, targeting Olivia. "Olivia!" He yelled to her. He focused at Olivia but she kept on wiggling. Then he fired, striking Olivia behind her thigh.

    Olivia fell down on a knee, groaning.

    "You bring that gun here now." He commanded Mia.

     Her hands were shaking as she held the gun. "No." Mia shook her head.

      "Mia..." He warned her.

    She shook her head. "No."

    Someone suddenly banged on the entrance door, screaming Olivia's name.

    Mia could recognize the voice anywhere. "Ryan?" Mia's heart was beating so fast. "Ryan!! Ryan!!" Mia screamed as loud as she could.

     "Shut up!" Ares said to her, taking a step closer to her.

     "Don't come near me." She pointed the gun at him. "I'll shoot! I have had enough of both of you!!" Mia said to Ares, squeezing her hands around the gun.

     "Don't think it's over yet, your daughter is still here." Ares threatened her.

      They both had guns pointed at each other.

        "Try me." Mia wasn't feeling threatened. "Even if I have to kill you." Mia said to him. She felt a sharp pain rip through her stomach. It was hurting so bad. The gun fell from her hand, as she clutched her belly. She could feel something was wrong.

    "Mi-Mia?" He frowned at her with uncertainty.

  Mia tried to control her panic attack  that came with the pain. She held the stair railings, trying to control her breathing.

   "Mi-Mia... You're bleeding." Ares stared at the blood running down her thighs. He went over to her, helping her settle down on the floor.

    "It hurts, it hurts." Mia cried softly.

    "It's okay, just breathe. Breathe." Ares tried to calm her, tossing away the gun.

    At this time,the pool of blood started spreading.

      "My baby." Mia clutched her stomach, closing her eyes. "I'm losing my baby." Mia cried silently as the pain was unbearable. "Call the hospital, call up the hospital." She whimpered in tears.

        Ares took out his phone dialing the police. "I have a pregnant lady with me and she's..." He wasn't able to finish his statement as a gunshot went off.

    Blood splattered all over Mia's face and dress. It was Olivia, she had shot Ares in the head. Ares fell down, dead.

     Olivia picked up the phone, hanging up.

      "You're next." She sat up, pointing the gun at Mia. "You'll die with your baby." She smirked, slowly getting up.

     "Olivia... Olivia." Mia breathed heavily.

     Ryan had heard the gunshots coming from the house but no one was answering the door. He knew he had to look for a way to get in, he went around the house and found a back door, he tried to push open the door as he hit it with his shoulder.

   After awhile, he was able to get it open. He was careful not to cause noise or make any sound. He found his way to a corridor where he saw Ares kneeling in front of Mia. Ares was talking to her, but then he saw Olivia reaching for a gun. Immediately, aimed it at Ares' head and shot him dead.

     He needed to do something to save Mia. He had to come clean.

      "Olivia!" Ryan walked out of the corridor, putting his hand in surrender.

      "How did you—"

    "It doesn't have to be this way." He said, glancing at the pool of blood surrounding Mia. "Listen to me, this isn't the answer."

       "Shut up!" Olivia snapped at him.

   "I know who you are, Josie. You're not mad at Mia, you're mad at me." He said to her.

       Olivia laughed hysterically... "Really? Is that what you think?"

     "I know. Olivia, take me instead. Let Mia go, she has nothing to do with what happened between you and me."

     "Wow, you finally figured it out. Congratulations! You deserve a round of applause." Olivia chuckled.

     "Olivia... I am begging you, let Mia go. This is between you and me." Ryan said, trying to calm her. "I know what I did to you was horrible —"

     "You know nothing! You don't know what I've been through!! You ruined my life, so it's only right I ruin yours." Olivia squeezed the trigger, just as she was about to shoot, she heard Kenny's voice.

    "Mommy?" Kenny stood at the foot of the stairs.

     "Ke-kenny? Baby go back to your room!" Olivia's eyes softened as she looked up at her daughter.

     "I'm scared." Kenny said.

     "I don't want you to see this." Olivia shook her head.

    Ryan stared at the little girl with curiosity.

     "You know what, take that woman out of my sight before I change my mind." Olivia said to him. She wasn't losing her daughter, she had to find a way to take Kenny away.

    
    Ryan looked at her... "Olivia..."

    "Do it!" Olivia pointed the gun at him. "I can't kill anyone in front of my daughter so you better leave before I fucking change my mind." Olivia walked towards the stairs, still pointing the gun at Ryan.

    Ryan slowly walked up to Mia, she was at the brink of slipping away into unconsciousness.

     "Hey, hey, I got you. I got you sweetheart." He said, placing a kiss on her forehead. "Stay with me, stay with me Mia." He lifted her, carrying her in bridal style.

      "The girl... Little... Daughter... Ryan... Girl... Olivia..." Mia could barely talk. She was gradually slipping into unconsciousness.

      "Keep your eyes open universe, I've got you." He held her close as he walked out of the house.

     Meanwhile, Olivia had hurriedly taken Kenny out from the front door.

      "Where are we going?" Kenny asked as Olivia carried her into the car.

      "Far away. I won't let them take you from me." Olivia buckled Kenny's seatbelt.

      "When are we coming back?" Kenny asked again.

      "We aren't coming back. Kenny, mommy's tensed right now, please don't ask any more questions." Olivia said getting into the driver seat.

      "How about unicorn and bear? Shouldn't we take them along too?" Kenny asked, referring to her stuffed animals.

       "I'll get you new ones." Olivia said trying to start the ignition. It wasn't working. "Come on, come on." Olivia kept on trying but it didn't start. "Shit, shit, shit!!" She angrily hit the steering. "Dammit!!!"

     "Mommy I —"

    "Shut up!!" Olivia yelled at Kenny.

   Kenny curled back in fear, looking away from Olivia.

    "Ba-baby I'm sorry." Olivia got out of the car, opening the back door. "Forgive mommy okay, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. Kenny, Kenny look at me... Kendra I'm your mother, look at me." Olivia said to the little girl. "Kendra!" Olivia pulled Kenny's hand.

      "Mommy..." Her eyes watered.

      "Shit. No no, no, no, baby no. I'm sorry." Olivia was acting weird, she was hysterical. "Mommy is sorry." Olivia got into the car, cradling Kenny in her arms. "Shhhh. It's okay. I'm here now, no one is taking you away."

   Ryan had called the paramedics to help Mia and had also called the police too. He had told Alex to handle the situation with the police while he took Mia to the hospital.

       "How is she?" He asked the male doctor.

     "To be honest, not good. She lost a lot of blood before the medics got to her." He answered truthfully.

     "And the baby? Doctor, how's the baby?" Ryan had to ask. He was more than devastated. The state he saw Mia was really terrible.

      "Sir, it's hard to say for sure as her placenta abruption is severe, but we would do everything to save the mother and child. But..." He paused. "If the worst comes, you might have to decide." The doctor said.

    Ryan frowned at him... "What? Decide what?"

      "Decide who you would save. The mother... Or the child." The doctor said calmly.

     Ryan glared at the man. "Don't you dare say that bullshit! Take that back, because if anything happens to them, I'll fucking sue you and the whole hospital. You say that shit to my face one more time and I'll make sure your license is revoked! Now, go in there and do your job!!!" Ryan yelled at the doctor's face, giving him a deadly glare. Everyone around turned to Ryan and the doctor.

     Even the doctor's body went cold instantly. "We'll do everything in our power to save them both." The doctor answered, taking his leave immediately. The doctor quickly wiped the sweat on his forehead nervously.

     How dare the doctor say that!!! He was Ryan Webster!! He could buy the man's soul if he wanted!!! If anything happened to Mia or the baby, all hell will break loose! Then again, deep down inside, Ryan was scared. He couldn't lose Mia nor his child, not after everything they've been through. He was terrified that something might eventually go wrong.

   "Ryan, thank goodness you picked. How's Mia?"

      "Things aren't coming out good man, I'm totally losing it." Ryan shook his head. "The doctors won't even allow me to see her!"

      "She'll be fine. Everything will be okay. David and Danny are on their way, be calm."

   Ryan sighed... Be calm? Easier said than done. "And Olivia? Did you get her?" He asked Alex.

    "We did. She's in the police custody as we speak."

      "I hope she's going to be on death roll, she has to pay for what she's done to Mia." Ryan growled.

    "Olivia isn't stable. When I spoke to your lawyer, he told me she's pleading insanity."

    "That bitch is lying, she's only pretending. She's only trying to escape her sentence and I won't allow it." Ryan was getting more furious by the second.

     "Don't worry Ryan, your lawyers are on it." Alex voice seemed hesitant. "Ummm... Her daughter..."

     "Yeah." He suddenly remembered the little girl. "Kenny." He suddenly reminisced when he had seen her.

    "Ryan? Child welfare has the girl. I know this isn't the convenient time to say this to you, but you might want to come over here."

     "Why?"

    "There's a strong possibility the little girl is your missing daughter."

    Ryan frowned... "What?"

    "Natalie is gathering up some proofs. Toothbrush, hair sample. We just want to be sure."

      "How can you say that?" Ryan asked, rubbing his forehead.

     "You should see her, she looks like you Ryan. Maybe not a lot but the resemblance is easy to point that she's her father's daughter."

   Ryan sighed heavily... "Oh God." He ran his hand through his hair. He was confused and worried.

    "I'm here, I can handle things here for now. When Mia's stable, you can take over." Alex assured him.

    So many things were running through his mind. As much as he wanted to be with Mia, he also wanted to see his daughter.

               "Alex,"

             "Yes?"

     "If she's really my daughter, don't leave her until I get there. When the DNA test result's out, make sure it's the first thing you say to me. Don't let Olivia near her, do you understand?" Ryan said to Alex.

       "I do." Alex responded. "Don't worry."
