#3 Bringing the gang back together.
Natalia's POV
---------------
I raced through the dark tunnels, headed for the airway that would take me to the surface.
Passing my chambers, I ran inside, and donned a black ninja suit, or 'vigilante suit' as the Vikings called it.
The ninjas, no matter how they like to say they're on the side of the good, do what's right for the greater good, not what's right for the the individual.
If there is a threat, say, a Viking, who is acting tyrannical to a great majority of others, they will take him, or her out...eliminate the threat.
And I think you know what I mean by 'take him out'.
If you don't well, I'll tell you.
Another word the Vikings call the ninjas is "Assassins'. I'm pretty sure you are aware of what assassin means.
Fortunately, I hadn't been requested to take part in these particular activities...yet.
Anyways, turns out, the ninjas are more widely known that I previously thought, but we're just a shadow.
Everyone has a burning fear in the back of their mind that they'll meet one, because rumor is, once you see one, it's the last thing you will ever see.
So technically, I shouldn't wear one of these suits if I don't want to scare the living Tartarus out of someone. Unfortunately for them, that was my plan.
I had to evacuate the Berkians, and if there's one thing you learn from living with them, it's that they are stubborn.
But no one, not even the Vikings would stay if they knew there were ninjas around.
Finished dressing, I briskly walked to the airlift.
When I say airlift, I mean 90 degree tunnel going straight for the surface with winds whipping through it at over 100 miles per hour.
There's no elevator, if that was what you were wondering.
It's just step in and up you go.
Genius really, but, like the drop zone, it takes some serious guts to go through with it.
Haha, and I wondered why there wasn't that many ninjas.
Breaking into a run, I took a flying leap into the tunnel, where I dropped towards the floor for a split second, almost hitting it, before the winds caught me and hurtled me towards the surface.
I was tossed about for a moment, before I straightened myself out so I was facing upwards.
A faint light above alerted me to the rapidly approaching surface, and I braced myself for the landing.
Turns out I didn't need to though, as Morra was waiting for me at the surface.
When I flew out of the the hole, she flapped up to catch me midair, and I collapsed with relief in her saddle.
"I am never going to get used to that," I complained in Dragonese, my face buried in her saddle.
Morra laughed, then landed beside the airlift.
"Where to?"she asked.
"Assignment," I replied shortly with an irritated tone. "Berk, to evacuate the Vikings."
Morra twisted her head to look at me.
"Seriously? Sensei Karu actually said that?" she asked.
I shrugged.
"Ah, you never know, you may be right. Maybe he didn't mean to say that, and he's just getting senile in his old age. Yeah, you're definitely right. Let's go home." I said, brightening up immensely at the prospect.
Morra took off, but headed not towards home, but towards the isle of Berk.
"Classic evasive technique," Morra explained upon seeing the disgruntled look on my face.
"I knew he actually said that when you started babbling."
"Maybe I should keep my mouth shut," I grumbled, resigning myself to a long flight.
Morra gave the Dragon equivalent of a shrug.
"I can still read you like a book," she so helpfully reminded me. I rolled my eyes in irritation.
"Be my guest though," she carried on. "I could do with some peace and quiet for once from your endless chatter,"
"Wow," I stated sarcastically. "Feeling the love Morra,"
"It knows no abounds," she replied just as sarcastically.
"You know," I said, continuing our sarcasm war. "I remember the days when you spoke like you had a stick up your butt, and didn't know the meaning of the word sarcasm. What have I done??"
"Misery loves company," Morra agreed amiably.
"Hey!" I complained.
I playfully smacked her shoulder, and she proceeded to smack my head with her long black ear.
I rubbed my head and flicked her ear with my finger.
Morra shook her head, then turned to look at me over her shoulder. "Get some sleep," she advised me. "We've got a long flight ahead of us,"
"What about you?" I asked, concerned that she would be tired when we got to Berk, and subsequently put herself in danger.
I shouldn't have been worried.
Morra fixed me with a look over her shoulder. "I'm not a sissy, I'm a Night Fury, and it takes about three days of non-stop flying to get me tired," she stated matter-of-factly.
"Okay, as long as you're sure," I replied.
"Oh I'm sure," she said snippily.
"Okay, geez," I said, putting my hands up in playful defense.
"Just go to sleep," Morra grumbled good-naturedly.
I complied, and fell asleep almost immediately.
Next stop, Berk.

{Book one in 'The Silent Song' book series}
"Fate manipulators, deadly shadows, night walkers, the silent melody....
We go by many names, not all as friendly as those above.
We never fail, we never miss, and we're never seen.
But we're here.
Always, everywhere, all the time.
You can't see us, you can't fight us, and you can't escape us.
The rules, so simple, so easy to follow. Yet, somewhere, deep in your chest, you can feel the darkness...what we do, it's not right.
But you can't escape us...
Never, ever.
Or so we were told.
It's time shake things up."

⚠️ WARNING⚠️
This book is NOT for children, but for teens.
There WILL be swearing, there WILL be violence, there WILL be gore, patches of bad humor, horror, and ALOT of sarcasm.
I am trying to expand my horizons, so most likely this will not suit my usual readers.
(My apologies) I've marked it under mature just in case. Enjoy!!
