Chapter 2
"HUH?"
All the guild leaders gaped when he said that his last name was Diablos, none more so than Ritchie and Brandon. Luke sighed at the looks before gesturing to Jamie. "You'd better explain what exactly you did Jamie."
"Right." Jamie nodded and everyone turned to her. The bluenette seemed to shudder under their gazes for a moment before she managed to compose herself. "Well you see, the four of us were in the middle of a battle-"
"A battle?" Silver interrupted sounding surprised.
"Yes a battle, now shush." Jamie glared at him before continuing. "So we were in the middle of a battle fighting when suddenly a celestial body mage attacked us, calling down a meteor on us-"
"That's what you meant by crushed," Bri said in realization even as Ritchie and Brandon both paled.
"Yes. We were about to be crushed so I panicked and while I didn't mess up completely, I did accidentally send us into the past by quite a few years instead of hours like I had planned." She finished rubbing the back of her neck.
"Soooo." Ritchie turned to Luke with a look.
"Hi, Uncle Ritchie." Luke greeted and Brandon's eyes went wide even as he paled even at the thought of his son being crushed.
"What? No way!" Silver said in awe before he got a look of confusion on his face. "But you look nothing like Brandon."
Luke snorted at that before he explained. "Yeah, a lot of people say that until they realize that I look almost entirely like my Ma."
"Oh my gosh, remember the first time we met?" Jamie suddenly giggled and the teens looked at each other and laughed before Melody said in a high pitched voice. "'Are you sure you're related? Like seriously, are you sure?'"
"Oh, I did not sound like that!" Jamie giggled.
"No, you totally sounded like that." Davy laughed.
Luke chuckled for a moment before he said. "Alright you three, calm down. Remember, we have a situation here."
That got them to stop laughing almost instantly even as Luke turned to Jamie. "Jamie, do you think you can get us back? From what I know about your magic, this could have dangerous consequences on us."
"I-I don't know actually," Jamie said, her eyes wide before she brought out a staff. She closed her eyes... but nothing happened. Her eyes opened after a moment, looking panicky. "It's not working, I don't get why it's not working, I have just as much mana as I did before! I don't understand!"
Tears started welling up in her eyes causing Melody to put an arm around her and coo at her gently even as Davy groaned. "Great, just great, and your dad's not even with us this time."
"Wait, wouldn't he still be able to help? This is the past, these guys are here, maybe he could?" Melody asked.
"He might not be that far in his training yet." Jamie pointed out.
"Well, there's a simple way to find out if he's at least close to it or not." Luke cut in and the three looked at him even as he looked back at the guild leaders. "Has the grand magic games started? As in after the disastrous party and everything?"
All four guild leaders nodded, making him nod before Luke asked. "Ok next question, has Boat joined the guild yet?"
Ritchie and Brandon both nodded though they were a little confused as to why he specifically mentioned Boat. Luke nodded before he said. "One final question."
"Ok?" Brandon was the first to iterate their confusion, getting even more confused when Luke walked up to Ritchie and gestured for him to lean down. When the bluenette did so, Luke whispered the question in his ear, said question making Ritchie go bright red. "No!"
"Ok, so we have a time period." Luke nodded.
"What'd you ask him?" Brandon asked curiously.
"I just asked if he had proposed yet," Luke said innocently and Michael and Ritchie both went bright red while the other guild leaders started snickering.
"So we actually..." Michael trailed off as he and Ritchie locked eyes.
"Uh-huh, not ta mention, there's my cousins Alice and Elise." Ritchie and Michael's eyes both widened at this information before their faces turned an even brighter red. Meanwhile, Jamie slapped him over the head. "What?"
"While we are giving away some information just by being here, you really shouldn't be revealing a bunch of stuff, Luke." She said with a slight glare.
"I mean if I changed anything, wouldn't we be fading from existence now?" Luke tilted his head at her even as the guild leaders paled.
"Luke, I love you, but we don't need that sort of pessimism," Davy told the other boy sternly, causing Brandon's eyes to narrow.
"I mean, he's not wrong." Jamie pointed out. "But hopefully we're out of here before any of that can happen."
"How? You said it yourself, your magic isn't working." Davy snapped.
There was silence before Jamie admitted. "I don't know."
