Ruby P.O.V

"Ruby wake up!!"  I groaned, while pushing Envy out of the bed earning a hiss and scratch from him as he climbed back up. "OUCH!!" I glared at Envy while he did his best to hold in a chuckle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me. Ow!"

"I did tell you to wake up but you didn't listen now did you." Envy exclaimed as he jumped out of my way so I could stand up. 'That arrogant little kitty.' I mumbled as I snapped my fingers, wearing some fresh clothes.

Envy started telling me something and continued yammering about how he 'shouldn't be doing this' or that 'Father made him do a useless job.' But hey if you hate me so much why don't you just leave! I started to tear up after thinking that part before grabbing the door and walking out, leaving Envy speechless and a bit hot headed.

As I continued my walk downstairs I noticed that it was unusually quiet. I didn't hear no laughing or giggling, no barks or angry shouts. What's going on? That's when I heard it . . A scream I know that is only for pain. "AAAAAAAHHH!!"

At that moment all the blood drained from my face and realization hit me hard as I put the pieces together and ran as fast as I can to the man's study. 'Eerie silence. None of Nina's little giggles or laughs. No happy barks from Alexander. It's starting and I didn't even know it.' 

I panted as I arrived to the door, slowly hesitating to turn the knob before letting subconscious take hold and opening the door. . . .

What I saw was gonna haunt me forever.

Right there, smacked at the center of the room was a wrist bound little girl with her dog a few feet away from her. Oh my god Nina I am so sorry. As I got closer I saw so much ingredients beside them and a big alchemic symbol surrounding them all.

"You weren't supposed to see this." I jumped, clearly started by Mr.Tucker before feeling enraged. I looked at the ground, hair covering my eyes and my fists curled up until my knuckles were white. "How." Mr.Tucker just gave me a blank stare before I continued.

"How could you do this?" I felt my anger rise and a deadly aura covered me but all that man did was give me a smirk before pulling his glasses off and giving them a shine. "It's not something to make a big deal of. It's just the way I do things." Placing his glasses back on his nose he gave me an evil grin before looking at me and saying, "And besides Niña wanted to help me so what better thing to do than let her repay the debt."

I was about to fight that man, break his nose or use one of my stones to break at least SOMETHING of his. . . But it didn't work. No matter what I did my alchemy didn't come to my aid and I felt a sting on my arm before feeling dizzy and walking around, trying to get a grip on things. I felt Mr.Tucker's arms lead me to a cage and lock me up before smiling and whispering, "Enjoy the show."

I looked around helplessly, trying to find a way to help her, SHES AN INNOCENT GIRL!! She can't die like this when there is clearly so much potential with her!! I remember my first punishment from my aunt and that still sends shivers down my spine.

~~~~Flashback!! (Cause why not?)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I gritted my teeth in pain as I felt something searing in my back. "Forty-one, Forty-two, forty-three and forty-four!!" I heard a sigh escape from my aunt's lips before tsking and grabbing my chin roughly and tilting it up so I can face her.

"I give you a home. I respect my sister's last dying breath and how do you repay me? By disobeying my words not once, not twice, hell not even three times!! You should have seen this coming." She patted my cheek before leaving the basement and me, stuck in the dark, alone with no one to care.

I have been annoyed with her and even though she was family I couldn't stand her. I hissed as I moved in a more comfortable position before hanging my head low and whimpering softly. Since apparently she didn't like my attitude towards her all this week she decided to teach me some manners. And what better why to do that than to whip the student back into shape like the olden days.

Wincing once again I reached out to uncuff myself when I heard the door open once again, making me freeze on spot. "Disobeying again Ruby? *sighs* Guess we go another round how about we do fifty-five this time." She said with an evil glint in her eyes and beginning at the task again. That day I knew where her boundaries are and where mine should be placed. I hated blood ever since those whippings and the scars remind me every day.

"NIÑA!!" I cried as I tried to reach her, the cold bars pressing against my skin. I cried yelling every time while Mr.Tucker teasingly walked over to it while grinning like a maniac saying, "Time to prove how much you love Daddy, Nina."

Nina was finally awake . . . How I wished she would've sleepers a bit longer. A blood curling scream filled the room as Nina looked at me. Seeing pain and fear run through my eyes she smiled as blood trickled down her eyes and the side of her mouth before mouthing, I love you, letting a bright light engulf is both.

I sobbed harder than ever. "NINA!!" I cried as I placed my face in my hands trying to control the emotions running through me. Why though. Why couldn't I save her?

It needed to be done.  A voice spoke making me stop and lifting my hands from my face. "Why didn't you let me save her?" I whispered before letting a small whimper escape as I heard my answer.

Because than the story wouldn't continue as usual. I can't let all my work go to waste now and besides you know how I rule. Without that girl dying the Elrics couldn't continue on their journey. . . How funny this works out though. The price for a life, am I right?

I just continued giving sobs until no more tears came out. That's when I felt a hand pull my hair close against the bars. "What a beautiful specimen you'll make. I wonder what I should pair you with. A bird? A lion? Oh how about that cat you always have with you? That'll make a wonderful pair don't you think?"

I couldn't pay much attention to the insane man as I kept recalling Truth's word. "A price for a life."  I couldn't save one girl in fear for ripping in the space time continuum. At this point I felt numb. I'm sorry Nina. . . . But I couldn't save you. As Mr.Tucker's laugh rings through my ears I do a silent prayer. Well Nina wish me luck.

I am soooooooo sorry!!! I was having a huge major writers block so I'm like why don't I read a book for inspiration? *2 years later* I finally remember that I have a story of my own and realized that like my friend who got me into this thing. By the way I hate you but still lovey you Allie. I am now a shipper for yaoi stories. Curse me and her at the same time and please I need suggestions on whether or not I should make her alchemically bond with an animal or not and if so tell me what animal please!!
