Melody 20

“Ouch!”

“Feels like we were falling from the sky, isn’t it?”

“Can’t we land a bit gentler?”

Mizu looked at them, head tilted slightly in mocking motion. He does not appear to be hurt at all by the landing impact. Sometimes they wonder how those twins got themselves stuck with this unbearable old man.

“Ah, it’s just a bit impact though… it doesn’t hurt that much…” Mizu retorted them, crushing their pride as a man.

Yamato, Gaku and Tamaki looked at Mizu with blank stare that closely say ‘isn’t that obvious’. Mizu smirked at their words.

They stood up quickly when Mizu started to walk, heading for somewhere they do not know. While they aimlessly trailing behind the old man’s back, they were wondering if they could take a stroll around the past. Isn’t it would be interesting to be able to see the past condition of the city they were in?

Tamaki looked down in thought. Something that no one would ever think that he was beginning to get more mature.

The tree leaves were swaying under the wind’s command, ruffling their hairs, and easing their hearts and minds for whatever coming ahead on their paths in this familiar yet unknown place and time. They kept walking ahead in silence with only the sounds of leaves rustling by the winds as their only sound core.

Finally, Mizu stopped walking as they did the same. The trio were ready for the coming twins’ voice greeted them upon seeing their faces but never expect to meet with an empty old and abandoned shrine on top of a hill.

The shrine was just as any abandoned shrine would be but without the dust to give the younger twin an attack. That would be positively good. After all, there would be no point if the redhead were sick in the middle of the capturing-some-delinquents mission.

That would be aside. Gaku stepped forward, intending to ask the old man about the twins’ presences.

“Where were they?”

Mizu turned towards them and for a while, they could see a confuse look flashed on the old man’s eyes but quickly shook away the thought as the old man is there and only staring at them with his usual unreadable expression that they almost thought it was just their hallucination.

“They were taking a stroll at the town.” He answered with finality. “Let’s just get you three some food to eat inside.”

Mizu turned away from them while muttering something under his breath that suspiciously like ‘should be back by now’ or something along the line.

The trio shared a confuse look before shoved off their shoes and disappear behind the door.

His lungs is burning with all the running. The only thing that kept him to continue his run is the rush adrenaline giving him the strength to not pass out right at the spot. He has a matter need to do. He needs to search some help. He needs to safe his brother. He really don’t want to leave Tenn alone with the enemy they were hunting for but it’s too late now that he has already climbing up the hill towards the shrine.

He would laugh ironically for he ran away from the enemy they were aiming for instead the other way around. However, the situation speak differently. All he could do is to find help from Mizu.

The roof of the shrine were now visible through all the trees that obscuring the people’s view of the old shrine. Another few metres away as the redhead start to level up his speed. Hopefully, this sudden rush of action won’t get him into a trouble in the future.

Tenn glared at the cream-haired boy in front of him. It seems the verbal battle pushing Tenn slowly but seeing the same annoyed look on the other is enough to indicate that not only him were being pushed too. He was used to do that on people a lot but never get the taste of it.

Everything were silent around them. Not even the wind dared to interrupt their glaring moment. Everything stood still like they were watching in silence about what the two boys about to do to each other after they have gethered things to be talk to.

Deciding that it was enough for them to analyse each other, Tenn finally started his questions to the cream-haired young male in cloak.

“What is your objective to come here by the way? And what do you mean by we’re not supposed to be here?” There, two questions he asked slowly in a row.

Minami stared at him with emotionless face. Maybe trying to reconsider about how to answering the pale pinkette questions carefully to not leak any information out.

“Obviously, we came here to get your younger selves and change the future.” He answered with a plain tone.

Tenn gritted his teeth. He knew already about that. He was expecting to have some new information from the teen, as it was probably his chance to drive him under his control mentally but turned out he was wrong. He thought that he could talk this out like any adults would do instead of fighting a useless verbal battle like some kids arguing for their play toy.

He have no time to be fooling around. The time is ticking. Tenn suddenly remembered about his talk with Mizu last night. 'One can’t be out of the home for too long or else they would start become homesick.' The metaphor that the old man used is just a way to ease the seriousness of the message behind it.

“You have known the drill already, right, Kujou Tenn.”

Tenn’s eyes narrowed.

“All you have known are we were a fool that didn’t think any back up plan.” Minami’s face become dark as he continue. “ZOOL’s member were consisting four people in it. As far as you have seen us, it’s only me and the time is ticking. What should you guys do with this? Even that old man doesn’t know anything about us. Or more specifically, no one in that stupid Sanctuary doesn’t even know the truth behind this whole messed up things.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“So, tell me Kujou Tenn. Are you really believed that there’s a culprit that command us—the ZOOL—to do this kind of thing? We would do everything in our power to be on the top and no one could bind us.”

Tenn’s eyes widened as the pieces started to gather.

Before he could ask any further to confirm his theory, suddenly a black lotus veil emerged from the earth, heading towards the cream-haired’s direction. Minami didn’t even move to get away from the veil as he stood still on the spot, letting the veil to tied him and disappear with an ugly smirk on his soft-looking face in the cloud of black smoke to somewhere that he knew perfectly.

Tenn snapped out of his trance when he heard sounds of footsteps running towards him.

“You’re still alive?”

Tenn gave the silverette a flash scowl before sighing tiredly.

“Really? That was the first thing to greet me, Gaku?”

Tenn looked at Mizu directly as the old man give the light pinkette a knowing look while Gaku stood there trying to understand their secret message.

“Alright. Seems like we would have another story telling tonight. Let’s go back to the shrine before it gets pretty dark here.”
