MAYBE IT WAS THE FACT SHE WAS MADE OF COSMIC LIGHT, BUT NYOTA LAHIRI ALWAYS LOOKED ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THINGS.

It was a fairytale she was told over and over - born from a fallen star, otherworldly energy flowing in her veins, more celestial than human.

The day eight-year-old Nyota was exposed to the Mist changed everything. The warm glow of her childhood was soon overshadowed by a very sinister truth: Earth was in desperate need of heroes, but in desperately short supply. Her parents believed they could help bridge that gap through their work with S.H.I.E.L.D., and, one day, they hoped Nyota would too. The cosmic light coursing through her body - beautiful, powerful, dangerous - was no longer a fairytale, but a reminder of what Nyota needed to be.

In the meantime, Tony Stark helped create a bracelet that would control Nyota's powers. He was someone her mother trusted, having been friends since their time together at M.I.T. She trusted him so much that, whenever overseas missions or undercover jobs pulled them away, Nyota was left at Stark Tower. As Nyota grew up, day long missions turned to weeks turned to months, and Stark Tower, later renamed after the Avengers, became the most stable home she'd ever known.

Then, everything changes - again.

Nyota is sent to live with an aunt whom she barely knows, and, even worse, has to start high school. But, the Kapoor-Williams' are good people; Midtown High isn't so bad; the Avengers are still around, and she could always visit after school or on weekends. She meets Peter Parker, who becomes her first best friend, and even makes it on the school's soccer team. Nyota also meets Michelle Jones, a snarky bookworm who she can't seem to take her mind off of.

Whatever new challenge comes her way, be it a History essay or the awkwardness of a first crush, Nyota is prepared to face it head on. This, admittedly, becomes harder when the Avengers start to fall apart.

Author's Note !

I am so excited to (once again) start my Marvel series! I've been working and reworking this plot and Nyota's character for years (YEARS!) so I'm really happy to finally finally start this. I recently rewatched the entire Infinity saga and it all just came back to me, the desire to write and finally share these stories I've been wanting to write for so long. Nyota is an OC who's very close to my heart. She's very optimistic and enthusiastic, and loves being part of the team. She and MJ are the definition of sunshine girl and her angsty gf who's only soft for her. Expect lots of coming of age fluff, sapphic romance, and also domestic!Avengers content because it's my absolute favorite and I wish there was more in the movies.

This is the first book/volume of my Supernova series (Nyota's storylines) and the next part I'm also super excited for because it will be set after Endgame, but with a new team (kind of like the Young Avengers). It's been published here before, but I've taken it down to make some changes! This is also part of the Excelsior Chronicles, which is my Marvel series! I'm still working out the details, but also expect a Guardians fic sometime soon :)
