Emily's POV

I'm standing in the hall waiting to go back inside. I was sitting on a bench.

"What are you doing out here by yourself?" I hear someone ask me. I look up and see Riley.

"Just thinking." I say as she sits down next to me.

"You know I'm here for you right?" She asks me. I look at her and give her a small smile.

"Oh course I know that. Thank you." I say to my brunette best friend.

"Always." She says and hugs me. I hug her back. "Love you Emi."

"Love you too Riles." I say to her.

Riley's mom walks out. "Girls, it's time to go back in." She says and we both nod.

Riley stands up and holds her hand out to me. She pulls me up and pulls me into the court room. She goes and sits next to her father and Farkle. She nods at me with a smile. I give her a small smile back.

I go and sit next to Topanga.

(Skip judge walking in)

"Can I please have Maya Hart to the stand?" The judge asks.

Maya looks at Topanga and Katy. They nod.

She walks up to the stand and sits down. "Please state your name to the jury." The judge says.

"Maya Hart." Maya says.

"Please tell us how came to know about Emily being abused."

"I was on the phone with her and Lucas, we were talking about our friend Farkle, he was being bullied, we wanted to find out who was bullying our friend. When we were on the phone, Emily's father came in the room. She hid the phone under her mattress, I think. Lucas and I heard what happened I knew something bad was going on so Lucas and I agreed to go over there after we heard the yelling stop."

"What happened when you arrived on the scene?"

"We climbed through her window and saw her, broken glass around the room, and her bruised and bleeding with cuts from the glass on her. When I saw her I knew."

"Knew what ma'am?"

"That whenever she came to school or hung out with us, when she would wear a hoodie or a lot of makeup. I knew I should have known something was wrong. I knew that was why she did everything in her power to be able to cover up any skin on herself." Maya explains. I can feel a few tears down my face. It looks like Maya is about to cry as well. "I knew, in that moment, her father was abusing her."

"Objection!" My father's lawyer yells, standing up.

"Sit down and be quiet Mr. Jenkins." The judge says.

"The jury has all the evidence they need. We'll have a ten minute recess and then continue." The Jude says and hits her mallet stick on the desk.

They take my dad out of the room after the judge and jury leave. I walk out and into the hall. I see my father and Mr. Jenkins down the hall. They both look at me. I look away and walk away with Cory, Katy and Topanga. Riley, Farkle and Lucas stayed in the court room.

"How are you feeling, Emily?" Katy asks me as we sit down in a small room.

"I'm okay." I say.

"I know this is hard but we're all here for you." Topanga says. I nod.

"Do you need anything? Water?" Cory asks.

I shake my head. "No thank you."

Farkle walks in asking if he could talk to me. The adults leave the room. "You okay?" He asks me.

"I just wish everyone would stop asking that." I say instead of answering.

"We're just worried about you." He says.

"I'm fine." I say.

"No matter what happens today we'll all be here for you." Farkle says. And instead of answering, I hug him. He hugs me back.

"Thank you Farkle." I whisper to him.

We get called back to the court room. We were all sitting in the same spots as earlier.

"The jury has come up with a verdict."

"How do you find a defendant?"

"We find the defendant guilty on all accounts." Someone says to the jury.

"Okay. Mr. Daniels will be serving 25 to life in New York State Prison." The judge says and hits her mallet.

They bring my dad out of the room. "We won." I say.

"I told you we would." Farkle says. I smile.

We all leave happy that I don't have to go back with my father.

We won. I won.
