Chapter 8

Abigail's POV

This wasn't good, Angelica's power was stronger than what I had remembered. She had to have somehow sped up the process. However if she didn't remember me exposing her then how was she able to remember anything about Crissy, anything about my past? It just didn't seem to make any sense. Taking a deep breath I watched as Jason got his things ready, he had a lot to do at the clinic and I knew John was out trying to find out what happened to Crissy's body. All of this seemed to be a giant puzzle and the pieces just weren't fitting, thought I didn't know how that was possible.

"I shall try to be back before dawn, you know what to do if someone breaks in. Get to me as soon as you can and if you can't find me you know John is somewhere closeby." Jason says as he hugs me. "I fear leaving you alone just as you fear me leaving on my own. It wont be long I swear."

Nodding I looked up at him, he kissed the top of my head and then walked out the door. I shut the door and locked it with a lock I could easily break but if I needed to I knew that I could call on my powers. Sighing I turn and walk up the stairs, sitting in the window seal, I look out as it begins to rain. Something bad was about to happen I could feel it in my bones. I was right, all the sudden I felt a sharp prick on my neck and then everything turned black.

John's POV

Nothing had come up on the search for the woman that attacked Abigail, if you could call her a woman. How she didn't bleed from that wound I wasn't sure, I had seen blood on her face but not from the bullet I put through her head. Knowing Jason had to head back to the clinic and finish Franklin before the next morning, I decided to go and check in on Abigail. Making my way to the house I didn't see anything odd so that made me a bit more calm. Walking up to the door, I knocked and waited patiently.

She was usually very prompt about answering the door. Instead nothing happened and I became suspicious. I knew many people didn't come in through the back door but she still would look to see who it was. Breaking the lock, which I would fix later, I kicked the door inside and everything looked fine except when I looked through the hall to see the front door wide open.

"Abigail!" I call out to her praying to hear her reply.

Running through the house, I make my way to the stairs and rush up them. I didn't know which room was which so I searched them all. Coming to the last and largest room, I opened the door and the room was somewhat tidy but no Abigail, she wasn't here and something told me that she didn't leave of her own free will.

"Damn it." I grunt as I run back down the stairs just in time to come face to face with the magistrate.

"What in the world are you doing in the doctors house?" the magistrate questions me.

"I might ask you the same thing, where is she? Where is Abigail?" I shout at the magistrate knowing already that he was one of the witches that Angelica controlled.

"You are mad, I have no idea where that woman went and it would do you good just to leave her gone." He retorts as he turns to walk away only to be kicked into the room by someone even I don't know.

Walking inside I see the person wears the same type of suit that Abigail wore. She was tall, had long red hair and the same eyes as Abigail only one thought came into my mind as to who the woman before me was. This must be Abigail's daughter and she did not look too happy. Picking the man up by his collar she shoves him up against a wall and then holds him there by his throat.

"John save me, she's a mad woman!" the magistrate yells trying to get me to help him, no chance.

If this was in fact Abigail's daughter there is no way I would mess with her. The saying like mother, like daughter came to my mind and I just shook my head.

"You know where she is, where is Abigail, the doctors wife?" the woman speaks with a commanding voice. "Try not to lie either, for each lie you tell me a finger will be removed from your hand."

That must be a trait she got from her Roman father. Still I wanted to know this information just as much as she did. We waited and finally after bending his last finger to it's breaking point he finally agreed to talk to us. Odd how he gave up information just to keep his finger.

"She's hidden, tomorrow at dawn she will be hung, as a witch, as a sacrifice." The magistrate yells as the woman before me drops him but shoves her right leg into his groin.

"Where is she hidden? I grow tired of your games peasant!" she yells at him and I try to hold back a chuckle.

"She lays deep in the woods, in a hallow unburied grave until the morn." He chokes out as he tries to remove her foot from his manhood.

"If she hang's I will come back and rip each limb from your body." She speaks very confidently as she turns to me now. "John I assume? You are coming with me."

Not willing to argue with her, I nod and follow her. She very much had her mother's commanding presence. Walking through the streets of Salem I did begin to wonder if she knew where she was going, that's when she brought up her right hand and spoke to her watch that very much resembled Abigail's.

"Fred, find mom, she's apparently in a hole in the woods. I need her location to get her out of there." She told him and Fred listened.

"You got it Di." Fred replied as I heard him typing again.

"Di?" I questioned as the woman looked at me and slightly smiled.

"Short for Diana. As if my name wasn't short enough, Fred decided to make it even shorter." She shrugs as she waits to hear from Fred.

"You really are her daughter, Abigail's that is."

"Yeah, I walked in her footsteps, even career wise but once my boss found out about this loop, I was sent in to protect her." She confirms as her watch then projects what looks like a map before us.

"That's her location, good luck Di." Fred tells her as we follow the map in front of us.

"You can't tell anything about the future just like your mom can't either though can you?"

"Nope, I don't usually break the rules unless I have to."

She's too the point, once we got to where the map led us we both looked down into the hole. There in a white gown was Abigail. Her hands were tied and she mouth was covered. Diana then put her hand on my shoulder.

"This was all I could help out this time, please take care of her and for the love of god don't leave her alone." Diana said before stepping back, allowing me time to nod in agreement with her request.

She then touched her watch and disappeared from sight. That was something I wasn't sure I would tell Abigail about but I could easily say that Diana took a lot from Diana but you could see some Roman traits as well. Jumping into the hole, I pick up Abigail and taking out my knife I cut her free from her restrants. Groaning she looks up at me with a dazed look in her eyes.

"John...I was so scared...she wants to sacrifice me but its not just her this time. Montgomery is the head queen. She controls everyone." Abigail mumbles as I hold her close to me and walk back to the doctors house.

Laying her down in her bed, I then hear Jason just returning home and screaming at the top of his lungs for his wife. Once he got to the room he sighed in relief as he then looked to me and put the situation together.

"What the hell happened?" Jason questions as he pulls me out into the hall.

"She was taken, put in a shallow grave but someone came along and helped me save her." I tell him honestly not sure if he would believe me or not.

"Who would that be?"

"Her daughter, Diana. Let me tell you right now she looks just like her mom but has traits from her father's side." I tell Jason as I pat his shoulder and sit down in a nearby chair.

He stood there for a moment, trying to process what I had just told him and after a few minutes he did turn around and look at me. His look of shock still clearly written on his face. Was the first time in a while he had been speechless, if only it lasted longer.

"Daughter...then wait who is the father?" he asked me.

"Some Roman, I don't know I didn't exactly ask her about her history. She led me to Abigail who was tied up and thrown in a hole. After that she disappeared and now here we are." I shrug as Jason sits down in the chair beside mine.

"Abigail...is a mother...the precious thing you spoke of...it was her daughter."

"Who apparently also becomes a time traveler as well, imagine what Abigail will think when that happens." I chuckle as Jason nods his head no doubt thinking the same thing I was. "Does it change how you feel about Abigail now?"

"No, I still love her and would die for her. You?"

"Same, she's saved more people than I ever could and I admit it, I fell for her the moment I saw her. As cheesy as that sounds, I loved her more than I did Angelica." I admit as Jason gets up and gets two glasses.

Sitting the glasses down on the table her then grabs a bottle. Opening it with his teeth he pours each of us a drink. Sitting the bottle down, he takes up cup in his hand and lifts it into the air. I follow his motion and wait to see what he will say or do.

"To the woman who owns time, my heart, your heart and the heart of a roman. No easy task yet she continues to strive for the greater good. May she succeed in her quest." He says and then downs his drink in one go.

Repeating what he did, I sit the glass down.

"I'll be dead before even her daughter is born." Jason chuckles.

"No...actually her daughter would still be older than you I think because she would have been born in Ancient Rome...all this time talk is so confusing." I sigh and shake my head.

"Imagine filing the paperwork." A female voice chuckles.

Both Jason and I look to the doorway and there stands Diana. She looked calm and relaxed as she leaned against the door frame. She looked over to her mother with a somewhat worried look on her face.

"Is she ok?" Diana questions as she continues to look at her mother.

"Yes, she is just sleeping now." I answer as Jason walks over to Abigail and checks her pules and listens to her breathing.

"Yes, just sleeping now." Jason confirms.

"I just wanted to see for myself." Diana smiles as she turns to walk off.

"Wait! Tell us about you, we would like to learn about you." Jason says as he goes back to his seat.

"Somethings are better left a mystery, wouldn't you agree john?" Diana grins before touching her watch and once again disappearing from sight.

"Second time she's done that, I think she gets that from her mom." John says pouring another drink.

"Of that, I have no doubt." Jason agrees as he looks to Abigail. "What do we do now? Angelica wont stop until Abigail is dead."

"It's not just her, Abs said that Montgomery is the queen witch, we have to find a way to take her down. Maybe we should just expose them as we did the last time and see what happens to their bodies after they are torched?" I tell him as I take a drink.

"Wouldn't be a bad idea, that way we could see if they were somehow able to come back from the dead." He agrees.

Sounded like we had a good plan in the making, hopefully Abigail would agree to it. Whenever she woke up from whatever they gave her to put her to sleep. She slept so soundly I even began to wonder if she was dreaming.
