Chapter 7
Abigail's POV
Fred didn't hesitate and within a few moments I felt a power surge go through my body nearly knocking me to the ground, steadying myself on a chair I stood and looked around. Whatever that was, it had better have come from Fred because I didn't remember that happening the last time I got these powers. Taking a deep breath I walked into the parlor and looked around. I didn't see Angelica but that didn't mean that she hadn't sent one her little evil minions to keep me occupied.
"Abigail, we have some strange activity coming from close to the clinic. It doesn't appear to be Angelica but she can disguise herself quite well." Fred tells me and my eyes widen.
Grabbing my cloak, I leave the house and begin to walk down the cold streets of Salem. People walking past me don't seem to pay me any mind. That was something I didn't mind at all. Once I was about to get to the clinic, someone I didn't even see tackles me into an ally. The breath is knocked out of my lungs as I struggle to sit up and see who the culprit was. Once I did I couldn't believe who stood before me.
"Hello sister." Crissy grinned as she looked down at me.
"This nightmare never ends, your dead...how the hell are you here?" I question as I stand up and dust myself off.
"Benefits of being summoned, let's just say the witch who brought me back knows all about your past and future." She chuckles as she walks up to me.
"I make my own future, you went rouge Crissy I had no choice." I tell her as I prepare myself for the fight she no doubt wants to have with me.
Crissy shakes her head and then comes right for me. Hitting me up right against the ally side of the clinic. She was out for blood, just like I was when I took her down in the American revolution. Looking into her eyes I watched as they lost their color and turned black right before me.
"You will get to know what hell is like now." Crissy grinned as she held up a dagger that I didn't see she had.
Doing the only thing I could think of, I headbutted Crissy which did knock her off of me, stumbling back she holds her head and once she can see straight again she runs at me. Ducking and moving to the side, I turn to see her hit the wall head on. That doesn't stop her though, she turns my way and I can see the blood running down her face. This wasn't Crissy, this was another one of Angelica's puppets on a string. A string I had to break, to allow Crissy to go back to the dead. All at once she let out a loud shriek and attacked me again.
John's POV
I knew Salem had a lot of rough spots, however standing guard over the doctor I heard a lot commotion coming from the alley way. At first I just thought it was a drunk or a couple of kids fulling around. However the sound became louder that it drew the attention of both myself and the doctor. Stopping his work, both the doctor and I walk to the alley and are shocked to see a woman I had never seen before fighting hand to hand with Abigail. The woman gripped Abigail and threw her up against a wall and held her there by her throat.
"Abigail!" Jason yells as he runs to help her.
I knew that wasn't a good idea, taking my pistol out, I take aim at the woman holding Abigail against the wall. Walking up to them I watched as Abigail reached out for Jason to stop and stay back. Even though her life was in danger she wasn't going to risk the woman hurting anyone but her.
I yell at the woman who then looks over at me and I see her eyes are completely black.
"Shoot me? As though I wouldn't return to put this whore in the grave right by my own?" she cackled and I could see Abigail was starting to give in, her body was loosing air and she would soon pass out in the woman's arms or on the ground.
Talking was done, I didn't have time to argue with her. Shooting her right between the eyes, the woman freezes for just a moment before she releases Abigails body and Jason catches Abigail. The woman then falls backwards but no blood comes from the wound. Walking up to Jason, who had Abigail in his arms, we both look at the woman and are completely baffled as to why she isn't bleeding.
"Got any explanation for that?" I question Jason who looks from the woman to me.
"Not a clue, these is no reason for her not to be bleeding. She was shot in the head and those wounds bleed the most...unless she was never alive to begin with." Jason answers as Abigail begins to stir in his arms. "Lets get her inside, leave the body here and maybe the demon who summoned it will retrieve it."
Shrugging, I follow Jason into the clinic. He carefully laid Abigail down and allowed her to rest. She was breathing and had a steady heartbeat, everything was good according to Jason. I watched over Abigail as Jason went back to preparing Franklin for the funeral. I could only imagine the thoughts going on in her head, worrying about her daughter and probably her husband though this would be her second husband or would Jason be her second husband depending on the time period. Great, now she's even messed with my mind.
"John, you need to tell me what is happening. I know Abigail is not from here, I know she is an agent for time travel just like you know but I have a feeling we have stumbled onto something much bigger now." Jason asks as he continues his work.
Looking to Abigail I wonder if I should tell Jason, maybe if he knew he would be able to more cautious around Angelica who still had eyes for him. Abigail wouldn't be able to tell him, at least not right now.
"It's a lot bigger, she's already left this time once before but due to a certain witch she had to come back to kill her for good. The witch threatened something precious to Abigail, now she's here to stop it before it happens." I answer him not telling him the full story of how Abigail had to watch him die, be attacked by a clone of him and all the other small details.
"Angelica went after Abigail in the future? Revenge for something no doubt." He said as he wiped the sweat from his head on his forearm that was somehow still clean. "She went to you for help first I see."
"More like she landed in front of me, she can't control where she appears but I'm sure you were more than happy to wake up to her in your bed every morning." I retort as I look at him with my eye brow raised.
Jason stops his work and sighs.
"She changed me, before she came all my thoughts were with Angelica but after I met her and took care of her something changed inside of me. Do you know she even threatened to kill me once?" he chuckled as he walked my way.
"Doesn't surprise me." I shrug.
"I fell for her hard and I knew the mistake I was making, I knew that Angelica would end my life or going against her but I didn't care. I had to protect Abigail." Jason says as he kneels beside Abigail.
This did let me see into Jason's mind even for just a moment. He admitted he knew that falling for her would get him killed but he didn't care, instead he did what he did and now it looked like he was waiting for Angelica to take out her revenge on him too. Trying to focus on the situation at hand, Abigail finally wakes up and looks around.
"Wh- what happened?" she questions as she looks around the clinic.
"A woman attacked you in the alley, John shot her dead but her death was even strange." Jason tells Abigail who looks confused too.
"What do you mean it was strange?"
"I shot her right between the eyes, no blood ever came from the wound." I answer her and her eyes go wide, I take it that was not the answer she was expecting.
Abigail quickly stood up and ran from the room, both Jason and I followed her. She ran out into the alley and where the body once laid, it was now missing. That wasn't human and no it was on the lose. How the heck were we supposed to catch it now.
"Did you know the woman?" Jason asks Abigail as she turns around and looks at us with fear in her eyes.
"That was Crissy, she use to be part of my time but she turned rouge and I had to kill her. There is no way that she is truly alive." Abigail answers as she looks back at the spot in disbelief.
Hannah's pov
Aro had revealed a lot to me, many things he told me he had not even told his sister yet. Though that didn't mean that she didn't already know. Aro watched as Diana slept, she had not a care in the world. Oh isn't the life of a baby an easy one?
"There is nothing the be done about it?" I question Aro who just shakes his head.
"No, I have seen anyone I can and there is nothing to be done about it." Aro sighs as he stands and looks at me. "Is there any way to see Abigail as she is right now?"
Looking down at my watch I wonder if what I show him would be anything, he wants to see...still for some reason I felt as though he needed to see her at least for a moment. Pointing my watch at the ground before me.
"Fred show me Abigail's past ten minutes." I command Fred, which I know he hates but he does what I say.
There before us is a hologram of Abigail, she looked like she was in the middle of a fight. Once I saw her opponent, I almost had a heart attack. Crissy was in the Salem witch trials? How in the heck was that even possible?
"Put the woman down or I will shoot you! I don't care who or what you are now release her!" A male voice rang out through the hologram, Abigail was being held against a wall be her throat by Crissy.
"Shoot me? As though I wouldn't return to put this whore in the grave right by my own?" Crissy cackled and Abigail's body looked like it was going to give in.
"Abigail!" Aro called out to her though she could not hear him.
That's when a loud shot went off through the scene of the hologram before us. Crissy was shot right between the eyes, she released Abigail who was caught by another man and then Crissy fell to the ground, dead again. Then the two men came into the hologram. One I knew was John, and the other must have been the doctor that she told me about.
"How do you explain that?" John asked the doctor who looked over at Crissy.
Both Aro and I saw what they were looking at. Though Crissy had been shot, there was no blood coming from her wound. The scene ended and I looked to Aro. He was just as confused as I was and now we had a bigger mystery on our hands.
"How did she not bleed?" Aro asked me.
"I have no idea, she wasn't suppose to be there, Abigail killed her in the revolution." I tell Aro who takes a deep breath and looks at baby Diana.
"I am glad you are here with us, Abigail will do her best and I pray those men help her since I cannot." Aro said as he then left the room.
I hoped her was right, I didn't know much about the two men but they did manage to save her so that was one good thing...right?
