The day had finally arrived. The day Jimin had been waiting for. In his real time line, he had been a coward, sitting on the side lines while watching others progress but now in this time line, he could change so many things. This competition was one of them.

The venue was packed and he was in one of the dressing rooms applying some make up to his face but at that moment, he wasn't totally himself. He had watched Taemin and Hobi's performance. It had been superb. Watching them had made his confidence drop and he was unsure if he could surpass them. The crowd had cheered so hard for them, he was having second thoughts about the level of his performance, his legs growing jittery.

His only source of comfort was Taehyung but he wasn't there. He was supposed to arrive some minutes ago but didn't and Jimin was getting impatient waiting for him. He couldn't understand what was going on with Taehyung these days but he tried to stay positive. He had to trust that he wasn't doing anything suspicious behind his back.

He was pacing nervously in the changing room when Jin and Namjoon entered.

"Jimin, you're almost up. Good luck!" Namjoon said tapping his back.

Jimin smiled. "Thanks hyung"

He took a deep breath. "Hyung, have you seen Taehyung?"

The couple shook their heads.

"No! Have you called him?" Jin asked.

Jimin nodded. "I have. He told me he would be here but that was thirty minutes ago. I tried reaching him but he hasn't been picking my calls"

"Don't worry Jimin. He will be here" Jin said smiling at him but Jimin couldn't help himself. He was so worried. He needed Taehyung. Jin and Namjoon knew that their presence wasn't really helping the younger so they just left him to be on his own and wait.

A staff suddenly entered the room interrupting his thoughts.

"Park Jimin. Be ready in five minutes" she said. No sooner had she left than an unexpected visitor entered the room. Someone Jimin hadn't expected to see. His breath hung in his throat as he stared at the person. It was Jeonyeong!

She smiled brightly at him and he smiled back nervously remembering that day at Namjoon's birthday party. He really did her wrong but she seemed so relaxed.

"Jimin! So good to see you again" she said cheerfully before hugging him tightly.

"What are you doing here?" he muttered.

"I heard you where participating in the dance competition and i wanted to come see you"

Jimin scratched the back of his neck nervously. "About that day at Namjoon's party I'm truly sorry for what i did. I invited you out and embarrassed you like that"

Jeongyeon waved her hand at him. "It's okay Jimin besides it saved me from making a very big mistake"

Jimin arched his eyebrows and she smiled. "It turns out that my parents selected you as my potential husband. I had no idea they knew each other. As soon as i saw your picture which they sent me, I quickly rejected the offer!"

Jimin nodded his head feeling relieved. "That's good but then again, I'm really sorry"

Jeonyeong pursed her lips. " it's okay. I heard you and Taehyung are dating now"

"We are!"

"Is it going well?"

"So far yes!"

Jeongyeong nodded and Jimin felt uneasy at her sudden change of expression.

"Jeongyeong, is something wrong?"

Jeonyeong looked uncomfortable as though she didn't know how to begin.

"Actually, Taehyung is part of the reason why i came here to see you"

Jimin stared at her as she went on.

"Taehyung's not who he seems. He's been lying to you"

Jimin scoffed getting annoyed. "What are you talking about?"

Jeongyeong breathed a sigh. "You know my friend Nayeon. He's been secretly seeing her! They've been having an affair"

Jimin looked stunned for a moment before he started to laugh hysterically.

"What are you saying? Taehyung hates Nayeon as much as i do. How can he be having an affair with her"

Jeongyeong smiled. "That's not true Jimin. Okay then since you're not going to believe me then i think I'll just have to prove it to you"

She brought out her phone from her bag and scrolled through them then showed pictures of proof to Jimin.

He gasped in shock. He couldn't believe what his eyes was seeing . This was a lie. It had to be.He saw images of Taehyung and Nayeon entering a hotel together and exiting the hotel at late hours. There where even pictures of them hugging and holding hands.

Jimin started to remember the orphanage. How close they had seemed. So close It was as if they where about to date. He also remembered how Taehyung seemed to overlook the nasty things Nayeon did and said to them. How he would give stupid excuses for missing their dates. He began to tremble.

"This isn't happening. This isn't real"

His eyes where red and he was on the verge of breaking down.

"I'm afraid it's real Jimin. This has been going on for some days now and they wanted to keep it from you!"

Jimin couldn't hold it in anymore as the tears began to fall without warning. His heart was thumping so hard in his chest and he could hardly breathe.

Jeonyeong wasn't done "Where is Taehyung? Why isn't he here with you?"

Jimin couldn't speak. His mind was in shambles.

"It's because he's with her right now. They have been playing you!"

Jimin was starting to see reasons with what Jeonyeong was saying "How could he do this to me? I can't believe i made the biggest mistake choosing him. I thought that he loved me. He was my best friend! Why? Just why? Wasn't i enough for him?" he wailed, tears blocking his vision.

"Nayeon said he told her you have so much baggage. You have so many secrets he couldn't handle. He told her he had given up on you a long time ago but when you started to get interested in him, he decided to give in"

"It's not true!"

Jeongyeong smirked. "It's not? I'll prove it to you!"

She played a recording on her phone and Jimin could hear Taehyung's voice loud and clear.

Jimin has a lot of problems. He has a lot of baggage which i really can't handle. When he got interested in me, it made me to look at him again but i had already lost my interest!"

Jimin nearly fainted as the recording ended.

"Are you satisfied now?" Jeonyeong said.

Jimin looked at her. "How did you get all these?"

"Nayeon gave them to me. She wanted to prove that she and Taehyung really are together. She went so far as to take pictures and even record their conversations"

"I doubt he'll be able to deny it once you confront him. You deserve better Jimin, not a lying scum!"

Jimin stood completely lifeless and Jeongyeong peered into his face.

"I'll be leaving now. Be careful Jimin!"

Jeonyeong left and Jimin couldn't help but wonder if this was what the fairy had been trying to warn him about. She was trying to warn him about Taehyung.

But how could this be? How could Taehyung who loved him so much, who did everything he could to win his heart turn around and betray him this way. He couldn't understand. His heart was completely broken.

The staff returned. "Jimin, it's time"

With a blank look, he stepped out of the room and went to the stage where hundreds of people had come to watch. The judges where seated at the front of the crowd watching him with calculating eyes. He could spot his friends in the crowd but no Taehyung.

As the song serendipity started to play, Jimin moved along with the beat letting his emotions flow. Since the music was an emotional one, it was perfect for him at that moment because he could demonstrate what he was feeling as he even broke down in tears. He was lost in the music embracing his pain with every move he executed.

The crowd went silent when he was done dancing as he knelt down in the middle of the stage, tears streaming down his face. Suddenly, a huge applause broke out from the crowd. It was a bitter sweet feeling for him hearing the chants and screams for him but his heart was burning so he quickly ran away from the stage and went back stage bursting into tears.

Hoseok and Taemin met him but paused seeing him like that.

"Jiminah, what happened?" Hoseok asked.

"You where great Jimin! Did you hear the crowd?" Taemin joined but Jimin couldn't speak. He just went to the dressing room and returned with his phone. Then he showed Hoseok and Taemin the pictures of Taehyung and Nayeon which Jeongyeong had sent to his phone.

Hoseok shook his head. "This isn't true!"

"Taehyung's cheating?" Taemin choked out in disbelief.

"Who gave this to you?" Hoseok demanded.

"Jeongyeong, Nayeon's friend" Jimin answered.

"The chick that went with us to Namjoon's party?"

Jimin nodded and Hoseok shrugged.

"This could be fake Jimin. I don't think Taehyung will do this kind of thing. He loves you a lot!"

Jimin frowned. "Then how do you explain the pictures or the recording? How do you explain the fact that he didn't come to support me during one of my important moments, on the day that i needed him the most" he cried.

Hoseok looked confused. "I don't know. There should be an explanation for this. Let's not jump into conclusions yet!"

Jimin shook his head. "I'm going to break up with him. I made a very big mistake! That's all I know" Jimin said with resolve, his voice full of anger.

"They are announcing the results!" A staff member said to them thereby cutting short the conversation. Jimin walked towards the stage leaving them to walk behind him.

All the dancers gathered on stage and it was time to read the result by the female hostess.

"Third place goes to... Jung Hoseok!"

The crowd clapped as Hoseok stepped forward to collect his award with a bright shining smile on his face.

"Second place goes to Lee Taemin!"

The crowd clapped again as Taemin bowed and collected his award.

"Now, for the first place of Bangtan college dancing competition, the award goes to....Park Jimin!"

A loud deafening applause filled the large crowded hall. Confetti began to pop out from the stage as Jimin half heartedly took his award. This wasn't how winning was supposed to feel like. So empty. This was the fruit of his labor. He had practiced so long and so hard but he didn't feel as fulfilled as he should have been. As he hugged the award to his chest smiling, he suddenly spotted Taehyung in front of the crowd with a proud smile on his face. On his hands where red roses but Jimin tore his eyes away from him. He couldn't bear to look at him.

As he was about to leave the stage, he heard a loud voice over the microphone.

"Hello everyone!" He turned and saw Jungkook climbing onto the stage. He started walking towards Jimin who was startled on seeing him.

"I want to commend Jimin for winning the competition but i also want to reveal something here!"

The whole crowd went silent as they started whispering among themselves.

"Most of you know about the relationship between Kim Taehyung and Park Jimin! The heart warming serenading Taehyung did for his boyfriend in front of his department has already circulated round the campus!"

He snickered. "But I'll tell you again that the relationship between them was fake!"

He wrapped his arms around Jimin's neck.

"They only went into a fake relationship to make me jealous but now, I've found everything out and i decided to use this opportunity to tell everyone that Taehyung and Jimin's relationship was nothing but a lie"

He turned to Jimin who was looking at Taehyung with pain in his eyes. The latter looked back at him with confusion.

"Isn't that right Jimin?" Jungkook whispered into his ears.

Hoseok went closer to Jimin to whisper into his ears. "What are you doing Jimin. Deny what Jungkook is saying and tell everyone the truth that you are really dating Taehyung"

Jimin scoffed. "Why should i?"

He grabbed the mic from Jungkook's hand and spoke. "It's true! Taehyung and i only fake dated to make Jungkook jealous"

He placed a hand over his chest "He's the one I really love!"

Hoseok took a step back looking at Jimin in disbelief as Jungkook held his chin in his hands and kissed him in front of everyone. In front of Taehyung. From the corner of his eyes, Jimin could see the flower slip from Taehyung's hand and fall onto the ground as he turned and fled. His heart fell.

Taemin, Hosek, Jin and Namjoon who where in the crowd looked at them with disgust and dissapointment while Yoongi smiled showing his front teeth but his smile immediately fell the moment he saw Hoseok give him death looks.

The confused crowd clapped but the clapping ceased as Jimin pushed Jungkook off and ran from the stage to the dressing room shocked about what he had just done and bothered about how Jungkook found out about the fake relationship.

He was in a dilemma and was so confused when he suddenly heard the door open and close. He turned and saw Nayeon and Jeongyeong glaring at him.

Nayeon clapped her hands. "Wow! What a great love! I told you Jeongyeong didn't i?"

The other just smirked and a terrible realization began to set in on Jimin.

"Oh my God, you lied to me!"

"Bingo!" Jeongyeong said and both girls giggled.

Nayeon scoffed "Taehyung didn't cheat on you. He is too in love with you to do that! Stupid! He should have known his love wasn't reciprocated"

"But...But!" Jimin stammered his lips quivering.

Jeongyeong laughed. "You are wondering about the pictures and the recording aren't you? Well, the pictures was as a result of Taehyung being a knight in shining amour saving a princess in distress. I can't go into details now but when he finally caught on to our little plan, he told us to go ahead and test you convinced that you wouldn't fall for our game!"

Jimin ran his hands over his hair. This was a bad dream.

"How foolish he was" Nayeon added.

"As for the recording, part of it was edited. Taehyung never said any of that!"

Jimin bit his lips so hard he was afraid he would draw blood.

"Why? Why?" he muttered.

Jeongyeong laughed bitterly as she looked at him.

"Why? There's a saying that there's nothing worse than a woman who holds a grudge. You humiliated me that day. The day you had invited me over for the party, I had told my friends about it and one of them told me she knew you...she also knew your family. I googled you and found out you where exactly the kind of man I always wanted for myself. I decided that i was going to get to know you better. It was the only reason I decided to attend the party"

"I bragged to everyone that day completely sure of my seduction skills but I guess you had another thing in mind"

She cringed. "Till today, I still wonder why you had to do that to me? Why did you invite me when you where gay and interested in your best friend only to embarrass me! What for?"

She pursed her lips. "Did you know that i couldn't eat for days? Worse still, you couldn't even call to apologize. It was like you didn't give a damn about my feelings"

She nodded. "So I decided that i will ruin your relationship and Nayeon offered to help since she was interested in Taehyung"

She breathed deeply "So in conclusion dear, you ruined your relationship with your own hands not us!"

Jimin couldn't say a word. He couldn't begin to comprehend everything that had just happened that day. He just wanted to sink into a hole and never come back up.

Nayeon sighed "I've decided to finally give up on Taehyung. It was a lost cause anyway but truthfully, I'm sorry for you. I doubt he will forgive you. His pride has been shattered and you kinda embarrassed him in front of a lot of people"

Jeongyeong nodded "The entire school is going to know! I'm sure it's spreading around like wild fire right about now"

Jimin hugged himself tighter.

"Good Luck Jiminie!" Jeonyeong said

"You're going to need it" Nayeon added. They laughed heartily. Even after they left the room, their laughter could still be heard from outside. It was then Jimin remembered the fairy's words

Love is not just happiness and perfection, love is pain. Love is sadness, Love is loneliness. It is trust, it is respect. Love is all the painful yet beautiful memories mixed in one person. Love is that person"

"I don't think you know what love means yet.

Because of your ignorance, you're about to make a huge mistake. The thing which caused your problem in the first place back at your own reality and time will continue to be a threat until you really know what you want"

Now he understood it all. Jimin didn't understand what it meant to love Taehyung. He had still being so caught up on his emotions, thinking if he had made the right decision or not. Jeongyeong was his mistakes. The mistake he had made. The mistake which came back again to draw a wedge between him and Taehyung and the thing he should have been careful about was himself, his ignorance, his doubts.

Oh! He had messed up. He picked up his phone and called Taehyung but he didn't answer. He tried again and again. No reply. He threw his phone aside and cried so hard feeling that everything was over. Taehyung was never going to forgive him. He had given Jimin all of him and he had just squeezed his love and threw it aside like it was trash. It was too late when he had come to a final conclusion. Taehyung was his real future but now, it seemed everything was over.
