Even after quitting KR, it never felt like I did. Maya, Neha and Shreya would keep on updating me about every single thing that happened, and the, there was Gaurav. It was already a month and I wouldn't have even noticed that except for the fact that Gunjan was bigger than ever. According to her, she could give birth any moment now, the doctor didn't agree though.

Gaurav would pop up out of nowhere. It was difficult at first, but then I got used to it. He would plan ahead with Karthik and take me places. I really liked the fact that he thought about Gunjan before making any plans for us. He hadn't still told his parents about us, but I know he wanted to. I have been mentally preparing myself for that for the last few days.

My line of thoughts was disturbed when my phone rang. It was Maya.

"Where are you?"

"I am at home, why?"

"And is our boss with you?"

"Come on Maya, stop with the melodrama."

"I am serious Kavya; do you know where Gaurav is? He hasn't come to the office and there is an important client here and he is specifically asking for him. I can't seem to find Arjun either."

"Which client are you talking about? It is not like I don't know them."

"It is Shyam from ArcTech."

"Excuse me, are you talking to Gaurav?" I heard someone speak on the other end.

"I am afraid I am unable to reach him." Maya said.

"Is Kavya with him? Did you try contacting her?"

"Actually sir, Kavya is on the line now, but she doesn't work here anymore."

"Can I speak to her?"

"Sure." I heard her say.

"Hello Kavya."

"Hello."

"I heard you quit, what happened?"

"Nothing serious, I just decided to focus more on my personal life."

"Oh okay, I wish you all the best."

"Thank you."

"I'll talk to you later, I need to find Gaurav."

"I'll let you know if I get to know anything."

"Why would you know about your ex-boss? Wait, that is what you meant when you said you decided to concentrate on your personal life huh?"

I called this upon myself and there was no backing out now. Gaurav had kept his word and mostly kept our relationship a secret. But, it was time for me to let my fears go.

"It is."

"Oh, I knew I saw something. I am really happy for you two. But, I don't want my company in jeopardy. Please find him fast."

"I will."

"Thank you Kavya."

I heard the doorbell ring. I hoped it was Gaurav as I rushed to open the door. I was in no such luck as I opened the door to see my brother.

"What are you doing here?"

"Hey, it is my house too. I am here for an extended weekend."

"It is Wednesday today."

"Yeah, so what is the big deal? I extended it from today."

"Fine."

"It is not fine. I am fed up of your boyfriend bugging me all the time. So, I decided to give you the weekend off. Go enjoy with him."

"He asked you to do this?"

"No, usually he does. But this time I thought I'll be generous. Also, a client is visiting and I hate his guts. So I used my pregnant wife as an excuse and escaped.

"That is my husband." I heard Gunjan say.

She was a lot less cranky now. If she had heard him say the same thing two months back, she would've probably created a tantrum. I like this version much better.

"I suggest you call your boyfriend, or plan a date or do whatever." Karthik said to me.

"Apparently no one is able to reach him over the phone. I'll try anyway."

I wasn't able to reach him.

"Why don't you go over to his place? Maybe he is there?"

That didn't seem like a possibility. But, as Karthik kept on insisting I go over, I felt this was all part of a plan.

I didn't bother dressing up and paired the first top I could find with my favourite jeans. I drove to his place. I saw his car in the drive way. I guess this is all a plan after all.

I rang the bell and waited for him to open the door. I stood there for almost five minutes and still there was no response. I then searched my bag for the spare keys he had given me. I opened the door and went in. The place was clean as usual. I walked to the master bedroom. The door was open so I went in. Gaurav was there, sleeping peacefully, like nothing bothered him.

So, maybe I was wrong. This didn't seem like a plan.

"Gaurav, wake up."

"Kavya?"

""Yes."

"I love you Kavya." He said, in his sleep, and turned to the other side.

I took a moment to compose myself.

"Gaurav, wake up. It already late afternoon and your clients are looking for you."

"Kavya?" This time he was awake.

"Yep."

"What are you doing here?"

"Making sure my boyfriend is okay. You had everyone worried. Shyam even called me asking about you."

"Why would he call you? I never told him we were dating."

"I know. Maya called me and Shyam asked to talk to me. I kind of told him."

"Oh, I like it. We should tell more people."

"Sure, but why don't you tell me why you are sleeping at two thirty in the afternoon?"

"I worked late and got in at eight in the morning."

"You mean you called me just after you reached?"

"And just before going to bed."

"And what exactly were you working on?"

"Some merger documents for ArcTech."

"And I am guessing you didn't mail it to him."

"Shit, I didn't."

"Do it now then, Shyam seemed restless."

"He needed them for today's meeting at six."

"We still have time."

He ran around, working on his laptop, talking on his phone. He was efficiently multitasking and that included stealing glances and smiling at me in regular intervals. After about twenty minutes he was done with the work.

"There is something I need to tell you." He started.

"Me too."

"Okay, do you want to go first?" He asked and I nodded.

"I love you." I blurted out.

"Is this some kind of a joke?"

I didn't respond to that.

"You are serious? Oh my god, I can't believe this Kavya. You have made me the happiest man in the world."

"Don't be so dramatic Gaurav."

"I won't, I love you too Kavya. I really do."

"I know. And, as an added bonus, I am ready to meet your parents."

He was stunned for a second. He wasn't expecting me to do that, maybe for another six months. But at the moment I knew I was ready.

"I can't explain to you what I am feeling right now."

"You don't have to, I can understand. That is what happens when you are in love."

"I am glad I have you in my life Kavya. I am never letting you go." He said before he captured my lips with his.

We parted for air after a few seconds.

"What is it?" he asked me.

"Brush your teeth and take a shower maybe?" I suggested.

"Way to spoil the moment." He said before heeded to my advice.
