Time Flies
January 24, 20??
Scott were walking down an abandoned street, his favorite street. As per usual, Scott was wearing his four thick jackets, favorite T-shirt, jaggy pants, wearing two gloves on each hand, and his pair of boots. In his left hand was a stick and in his right was a plastic bag, filled with food.
Right now Scott look around the city he was in, enjoying the peaceful early morning. All the buildings he saw were old, broken down, and were covered in veins that invaded any small cracks they could. Scott took a deep breath, taking in the cold, fresh air into his lungs as he continued to walk.
Scott spots an old, rusty, broken down car on the side of the road. The car's paint was worn out, having been out for who knows how long. The windows were all smashed as the roof of it was pushed down by debris of the tall building next to it.
Thinking there could be something valuable in it, Scott checks it out. As he got closer to the car, he noticed the window glass as shattered all over the floor. Not only that, but when he reached the car, he also noticed a skeleton hand that was probably human once dangling on the passenger's door.
Seeing the hand probably meant there was nothing there for Scott to loot. He shrugs it off and began walking away from the car, coughing violently as he did. Once done he stops walking, looking over his shoulder to where the car was. He took a minute to think if there was actually nothing for him. A small smirk grew on Scott's face.
After an half an hour of walking around the city, Scott enters one of the largest buildings in the city. He gently pushes the broken glass door open and steps inside the once fancy building.
Scott navigates through the building a bit before reaching the emergency stairs that lead up all the way to the top of the building, 50 stories to be exact. He looks up the spiral of stairs for a moment before he began making his way up.
After a good hour or two of climbing the stairs, Scott made his way to the very top of the building. He walks over to one end of the place and walks over to his home. It wasn't that impressive; only being a tent with a sleeping bag, a fire next to said tent, an old cooler, and a broken down radio.
Scott walks over to the fire, sets down his bag, and places an old pot on top of the fire. After, he went over to his cooler and picked out a bottle of water from it and pours it into the pot, allowing the water to boil. Finally he went through his bag and grabs ingredients for soup.
Once he placed them in, Scott walks over to the edge of the building. He sat down and allowed his feet to dangle off the edge.
After what seemed to be an hour of sitting there, Scott noticed the sun rising. For a split moment, his eyes widen as his jaw dropped. But that was just for a moment before he relaxed. He always wanted to see the sun again. And now was his last chance...
As Scott watch the sun rise, a small, yet chubby blue bird flew down next to him. He stare at it as the bird saw his soup cooking, which caught its attention. The blue bird hops on over to the soup, curious of it. Once there, the bird tilts its head, wondering how to get to the food. Scott couldn't help but giggle at this. He smiles at the bird as it hops around the fire.
"I'm sorry little bird," Scott said, "I'm afraid that's not for you." Scott turns back to the sun, continuing to enjoy watching the sun rise in who knows how long. After a few minutes, he let out a happy sigh, but with a hint of regret. "Spring is finally here again...after who knows how long..."
The bird has given up on trying to get to the soup. It flies off towards the sunrise. As it does, heavy wind picks up, causing the bird to struggle flying straight for a moment before regaining control.
Back to the building, Scott was gone. All his belongings were still there, waiting for him to use them. But they were never to be used again. The wind blows heavily again...picking up a jacket in its trail.
The end
