'GOOD GRIEF. WHY am i still locked up?'

y/n was standing behind bars in tattered brown clothes that looked like they haven't been worn in centuries. a sing-song voice reached y/n's ears and cut off her thoughts.

"HEY! i'm hange zoe~. this is erwin smith, our commander and this is levi!"

levi's dull eyes bored into y/n's but she quickly returned the action.

'what is this? a staring contest?' levi thought.

"you started it." y/n replied before looking away.

levi's eyes slightly widened before he also looked away, forgetting that the new prisoner could read minds.

"WOW! did you just read his mind? what did he think? can you turn off your powers?" hange interrogated.

"settle down, hange. don't get too attached." erwin warned.

"sorry, sorry." they sheepishly grinned before stepping away.

"as she said, i am erwin smith and i am the commander of the scout regiment. we go beyond the walls to slay titans and protect civilians who reside inside the walls. levi is the best of the best. you'll be supervised by him and he'll help you get accustomed to things around here."

all y/n did was nod in understanding.

"hange will get you your uniform. is there anything else you need?" erwin asked.

"my ring." y/n's monotone voice asked (although it sounded more like a demand). "my ring you took prevents me from hearing thoughts so if you don't want me prying into your mind space, i suggest you give it back."

levi was quick to grab y/n's collar and pull her until she was pressed against the metal bars. "don't get confident. i'll remind you that you're on the wrong side of these bars so i suggest you bite your tongue."

y/n was unfazed as she knew levi was going to do this "good grief. just give me my ring."

reaching into the pocket of their pants, hange pulled out
y/n's very valuable geranium ring and handed it back to her.

quickly taking the ring, y/n slipped it on her finger and all unwelcome thoughts immediately disappeared, a face of relief washing over her.

"okay, we're gonna let you out now... don't try anything rash!" hange warned before unlocking the cell and freeing y/n.

y/n silently obeyed and followed levi up to the upper floor levels.

y/n would've expected that she would be bombarded by questions by the soldiers but what was not the case in the slightest. every soldier had ignored her and her presence which she was internally grateful for.

'can i just stay in this era? there aren't any nendous here or superhero wannabes.'

her moment of silence was quickly interrupted when a group of three approached her.

"hi! i'm eren. this is mikasa and armin." eren greeted y/n who gave him a curt nod. "i know how it feels to be left out and exiled... but we're here to accompany you!"

'i liked being left out and exiled before you came along'

y/n ignored eren and continued to eat her sad meal.

"so... if you can time travel, do you know what will happen in the future?" armin shyly asked.

y/n gave another nod.

'well, i don't technically know the future right now... but i will. and once i do, i'll get out of here.'

"THATS SO COOL!" eren's eyes glistened as he slammed both of his hands on the table. "you can prevent so many deaths! man, i wish i knew about the future."

"eren. let's leave." mikasa requested which eren obliged.

"see you around, y/n!"

eren and armin shyly waved and mikasa gave a curt nod.

'finally. talking from my mouth is exhausting. using telepathy is much easier. but i don't want to attract attention. armin seems smart.'

y/n threw away her meal as she wasn't hungry and began making her way to the showers when she encountered...

a bug.

frozen in her place, she teleported somewhere.

somewhere she shouldn't be.
