"No, don't take me away!" A seven-year-old girl screamed. She had shoulder-length, unbrushed but pretty reddish-brown hair, pale skin and rare but natural yellow eyes. She wore a light, messy dress made out of moss, twigs and leaves.

This girl was Krystal.

Two large men in regular clothing were holding her back from running into the forest, one man holding on to each of her arms. She struggled and tried to retract her now aching limbs. Krystal just wanted to go back into the forest, back to Meganium and Celebi and all the others, back home.

The men refused to let her go. "You don't belong in the forest, young girl. We need to take you to an orphanage or something."

Krystal looked back at them with tears in her eyes and said, "What's an orphanage and why do I have to go there?!" The men didn't speak. Krystal squealed and kicked and screamed with all her might, and she managed to free her right arm from one of the men's grasp. She waved it frantically as the man grunted and tried to grab it again.

Krystal saw a shadow rush past her, and she thought without any word. Was it one of her friends? Then the men started to wobble and separate, setting Krystal free. When she was released, she saw Furret and Sentret running between the men's legs, tripping them up with their long, bushy tails. Krystal smiled and giggled and kneeled down. She whispered, "Thanks, guys." She ran further away but then turned around when she heard a loud roar behind the men. She heard stomps and vicious rustles of bushes and branches cracking off trees. Meganium emerged from the shadows behind the men and Krystal beamed at the sight.

The men slowly turned around and yelled in fright at what they saw. The men immediately rushed away from the forest and away from Meganium. Krystal started to rush up to Meganium to hug her long neck in thanks, but she heard a gunshot.

A sharp red dart flew over her head from behind and landed right in Meganium's neck. The Furret and Sentret rushed back into the shadows and away from a falling Meganium. As she fell, Meganium closed her eyes and roared in pain. She crashed to the ground on her side, appearing to be sleeping.

"Come here, girl," a voice emerged with a young grown woman from the black depths of the forest. She had short, bobbed, pale-blonde hair and deep blue eyes. "You can't hide like this forever." Krystal started to cry again and back away. The woman immediately growled and held up her gun again. Krystal gulped and started to run, but just as she was about to enter the depths of the forest, she felt drowsy. She closed her eyes gently and drifted to sleep, falling to the ground. The same dart that had hit Meganium had been shot at Krystal's shoulder.
The woman's dull expression didn't change as she began to pace to the young girl. Other Pokémon hid in the bushes at they watched in terror of what would happen to their dear friend.
The woman approached Krystal and picked her up gently, bridal style. She used her thumb to clear hair from Krystal's face. She smiled as she gazed at Krystal's sweet, dreaming face. But then she was brought back to reality by a gust of wind. She stopped smiling and turned around, with Krystal, and began to leave the forest.

Celebi entered the clearing as Meganium was waking up and the Pokémon were emerging slowly from their hiding. It looked around with a smile but then frowned and asked a sleepy Meganium, "Where did Krystal go?" Meganium shook her head, now standing, and said, also looking around, "I don't know... the last thing I remember, another human shot me with a dart of some sort. Then I fell asleep."
A Meowth raised a paw and spoke loud and clear, "I saw the human shoot Krystal with the same type of dart and then take her away." The crowd of others nodded. Celebi said, "Well, if she is gone, we need to get her back. Neither Meganium or I can leave the forest. So, we will choose a patrol of our strongest friends and send them out of the forest and to Krystal, wherever she is."
Celebi and Meganium spent the next hour scanning the forest and picking the eight strongest Pokémon they could find. They gathered them back to the clearing and made an announcement.
"Everyone! We have picked our patrol," Meganium ordered. "They will each be paired with another Pokémon in the patrol and go to either North, South, East or West of our region of Johto." Celebi looked at an Alolan Persian and a Toucannon, "Persian and Toucannon. You two are Team A and will travel Eastward in search of Krystal." Meganium called forward a Houndoom and a Mightyena. "These two, Team B, will search North," she spoke. Then, Celebi tapped the shoulders of a Leafeon and a Mimikyu and said, "These two are Team C and will search West." Meganium then said, "Last but not least, our last team, Team D, made up of Golduck and Togekiss, will head South.
"So, Teams A, B, C, and D, tomorrow morning you will travel to your assigned areas out of the forest and search for Krystal." The eight Pokémon nodded in unison and cheered with the crowd.
Celebi flew where everyone could see it and said, "We will get Krystal back, no matter what it takes." Again, everyone cheered and went back to the depths of the forest, anticipating morning.
