Day 1
Tim Ultron was shoved into a jail cell in a shield facility. He stubbled a bit but sat on hi bed turning to face the door was it slammed. "James..."
James just rolls his eyes. "Don't talk to me." He growls. The anger filled boy walked down the hall, his footsteps echoing as he went. Almost immediately after, another pair of smaller footsteps got closer to Tim's cell. "Hello Tim. What're you doing back here?" The red haired teen asked curiously.
Tim sighed fixing his blue glasses on his face. "Oh. Hello Maddy" he smiled. "Just... well you know... in trouble again" he said in his near flat voice.
"Aren't you always?" She asked, a playful tone at the end of her voice. She runs a hand through her hair, playing with one of the ends as she looks down at her phone.
"And you know, it's not fir stealing the comic book" he corrected before falling back to the bed.
"Oh, that's shocking." She sits on a chair outside his cell. Her eyes glued to her screen as she typed a couple of unseen words. She laughs at something on the screen, before putting it away.
Tim rolled his eyes. "No. This is for destroying evidence against me. That Thora girl, pretty and strong but dumber then a box of rocks. Even by human standards" the robot said standing up and started to pace in his tiny cramped cell.
"You mean Torunn? Yeah, she's not our brightest member...let me guess. Spent most of her time complaining about James?" She watches him closely as he moves about the cell, her vision trained as though looking for just the slightest twitch that something was off.
"Oh yes. I was even able to convince her that he was so incompetent that he got my species wrong. She was sure I was human" he laughed moved up to the cell door. "It's cramped in here. I wanna go for a walk"
She sighs. "You know I'm not supposed to do that Tim."
"I'm lonely. All the other prisoners have cells near each other. I wanna talk to people. Please Maddy?" He begged. His eyes looked so human like, his chest even rising and falling a bit like he was breathing.
Maddy knew he was faking, but she couldn't help the slight motherly feeling tighten in her chest. She shakes her head, trying to clear it. She wasn't usually easily manipulated, but when it came to someone acting scared or like a child, she had a little bit of a necessity to save them. "You really know what cards to play, don't you? Fine. But you have to promise to stay with me. Got that?"
Tim nodded. "Of course" he said happily moving back so she could open the door. "I love the new locks... oh. Never mind. It's the same locks as before"
She laughs. "You've been here so many times that you've memorized the locks already." She opens the door, moving so that he can walk out of the small little prison room they call a cell.
"I have a near photographic memory for things I deem worth remembering" Tim said with a smile, practically skipping next to Maddy.
Maddy rolls his eyes at his attitude. "Well of course you'd find that important.
They walk a bit farther into the building, most people not questioning why Tim wasn't in his cell after seeing that he was with Maddy. They knew that she took a bit more pity on villains and so she'd often get them little things for their cells, bring them extra food, talk with them, or even just walk with them. Unfortunately, one person did notice this.
"Hey, uh. Josh?" He asked.
Tim gave a happy smile. "Hello Josh"
"Maddy... why are you walking with the crazy robot?" He sounded scared, he had no liking for Tim after he had seen him shoot Maddy one rainy night.
Tim pouted. "Maddy, does your boyfriend really think I'm crazy?" He said in a sad voice, but his lips were upturned in a smile.
Maddy throws her head back. "Yes, my boyfriend doesn't like you. Don't even pretend to be upset. Josh, I'm walking with 'The Robot' because he felt cramped in the cell and he wanted to go on a walk. I felt bad. If you want to come, you can come."
Josh nodded fallowing behind them. "You haven't been in their an hour. I'm sure you can deal" Josh said rolling his eyes.
Tim kept walking. Watching the name tags on the doors as they passed.
Maddy rolls her eyes, grabbing Josh's hand and squeezing it a little. "I'm fine. See?"
Josh looked down at their hands and smiled. "Okay"
Tim rolled his eyes "get a room love birds"
"Don't act like you haven't been this way with Ally. Have you two kissed yet?" She asked. "Or was my pep talk for nothing."
Tim sighed. "We didn't, Okay? For a siren she's pretty stuck up"
Maddy laughs. "Oh my god. You couldn't do it? So the pep talk was for nothing. I waste my best material on you."
Tim's face was turning a bright shade of blue and so he kept looking down as he walked.
Josh looked at the time. "You have to put him back downstairs, Maddy. Your shift starts soon"
Maddy groans, not wanting to really go to her work. She knew that they were gonna send her on another mission. "Come on Tim."
Tim fallowed along, this time at a much slower pace as if dragging his feet.
Maddy sighs as they approached his cell. "I know. I don't want to really put you back either. Gives me an excuse to not work, but I have to go at some point." She shuts the door and locks it, turning a piece on her watch and watching as she changed into a leather suit. "Bye Tim." She walks off in the suit, heading her name called over the loud speaker. Code 23. Typical villain attack. She just hoped that this time she didn't come home with as many bruises as she usually does.
Tim day himself down on his bed. He waited a total of twelve minutes before picking the lock on the cell and opening the door. He smiled to himself and made his way back upstairs.
Maddy by now had been long gone, signaled by a glowing sign above one of the main garage exit. It appeared as though she had gone out with Greg and Sam. It must have been serious if they had to put those two together. It's not like they were short staffed. As Tim approached a coffee room, he can see Rebecca leaning against the counter, sipping a coffee as she read a page from a fashion magazine, seemingly trying to learn about more human fashions.
Tim moves quickly getting his hot chocolate, the only beverage he could drink. He tried not to look at the alien. On the last encounter she had annoyed him to know end. He needed to play this one cool.
"Hello Timothy Ultron." She smiles at him.
"It's Tim.. actually" he said hiding his anger rather well. "Just call me Tim"
She sighs. "Alright then Tim. How have you been? And if I may ask, why are you out of your cell?"
"I'm not doing so great. I was thrown in prison. As for not being there now... I needed a hot chocolate"
"Needed or wanted? They're two different things."
"Needed to keep my sanity where I wanted it" Tim said with a smile leaning against the counter.
"I guess that counts. So, what're you in for this time? Did James finally bust you for stealing the comic book?" She asked, placing her magazine down as a look of pure curiosity shines in her eyes.
Tim rolled his eyes. "No he didn't. Sent someone else after me. I'm in for destroying the evidence against me"
"Ah. Well that is a serious crime, tampering with evidence. Especially if it's your own. If anything it just proves your guilt." She shrugged, looking back at the page in her notebook.
"A funny game that is" he said sipping his drink. "Well speaking about such I need to ask a favor of you"
"And that would be? If you wanted me to bail you out I'm afraid it's against protocol." She doesn't even look up at him, her eyes glued to the apparently fascinating page in front of her.
"I need you yo take down the firewalls that I can't get threw" Tim said without looking away.
She chokes on her own spit, placing the magazine down instantly. "You want me to what?! And why would I do that for you?"
Tim gave her a very kind smile. "I'll get you out if shield"
Rebecca looks around them, seeing minimal people, and they didn't appear to be paying attention. "What ones did you need?" She reluctantly sighs. It was almost sad that she was willing to go against a government organization. But they had tortured her for quite some time, reminding her of the accident she had right before she became a part of the team. Reminding her that she wasn't completely human. She hated it. She hated the anxiety and PTSD that the members would get from all of their fights. It was so awful, no one would wish it on their worst enemy.
Tim started to name of files. Using code names and numbers for the files of shield's biggest mistakes. Including the Jason ams Brandon Incident.
Rebecca seemed confused as to why he'd want the report on the Jason and Brandon incident. It happened a year ago. Both boys had died on a mission they were forced to go on as backup for Maddy. The mission went completely wrong and Both boys were declared dead within a day of being checked. Maddy was the only one that survived. She had been taken by Hydra and tortured. By the time she had finally gotten out, the poor girl was already scarred and had survivors guilt. It didn't get any better when Tim got angry after they died. He, blaming Maddy for specifically Jason's death, shot her. She would have died had Josh not been nearby and saved her. Tim was left feeling useless and he was more trouble than ever due to the fact that his one created purpose was now gone. He was to protect Jason and he had failed. He hated it. Rebecca shakes the terrible thoughts from her head, almost immediately bypassing the normal security measures, including the firewalls. She hands Tim her phone once she was done. "Don't know why you want a file on two dead boys, but whatever."
Tim looked there the selection of files making copies of a few saving them directly to his memory bank. He passed the phone back to Becca. "As you can see, I only took things that directly impacted my goal" there was over a dozen files about all the little things Shield would just brush under the rug.
Rebecca nods after checking over his work, making sure to backtrack so that no one could tell it was her. "You did good Tim."
Tim nodded. "Everything should be gone by morning." He smiled jumping from the counter. "Now I must run. Have a good day" he went back down to his cell locking himself in. Leaving the cup at his bedside.
He left no time for Rebecca to react to him, though maybe it was for the best. She'd probably take up more of his time asking questions. An announcement comes over the loud speaker. "Dispatch ambulance number three. They'll be thirteen to Harlem. Repeat, ambulance three dispatched thirteen to Harlem." There was the smallest sound of an ambulance in the base, reverberating off of the walls and down the stairs. Harlem was where Maddy had to go. Judging by how they had to dispatch an Ambulance, she was gonna be gone for a while.
Tim sighed leaning back against his bed. Just counting down the minutes til morning. He closed his eyes and linked himself to the files. Smiling to himself as his plan was put in place.
She shakes her head. "Villain was stronger than we thought. Sam only has speed, so he couldn't do too much about it. Greg tried his best, but he's an Archer, so he can't do close range attacks. We had Sam on distraction duty for his minions. I was the one who had to get close. If you notice they barely have any scratches on them. Guess I should've thought this out more...or they could have assigned a better team..." she trails off, thinking about the different possibilities.
Tim takes a look down the hallway. His cell was in the back corner of the block. "I deleted the black mail on Rebecca"
Maddy stands completely still for a moment. "W-What?" She stutters.
Tim gave a smile. "They were blackmailing her to stay. I can do the same fir you, get that off of you"
"No. You can't. She had photos. Mines a little more complicated. Mines a record." She recounts the night she was basically forced to join Shield, Nick saying that she and her two friends would be arrested if not. Her for harboring runaways, Sam for stealing money, and Sean for attempting to tap into someone else's WiFi.
Tim nodded. "Okay then. You'll be my last ones out. But do you know who else just has photographs?"
She thinks for a moment. "Well, not many. Hailie and Mac already quit. Grace was persuaded. Greg basically volunteered himself. Eli and Harrison aren't necessarily totally Shield yet. Haven't been sworn in, but they'll fight with Shield. So, no. Not really. Rebecca was the only one with photos."
Tim thinks. "You can handle Grace and Harrison. But I might still need to speak with Greg and Eli"
She nods. "I-I guess I can do that." She seems very hesitant to do this. This was going against Shield they were talking about.
Tim gave her a smile. "Just think it over. I have other things to do in the mean time" he sat on his bed. "You have a charger?"
"What? Like a phone charger?" She asked, stifling a laugh. "Don't tell me you use a phone charger to charge yourself. Can't you do that automatically?"
Tim shook his head. "I've been having problems with the wireless charging. Could I please just have a phone charger?" He begged. It was true he didn't need it, but it would make gaining access to the companies's internet easier.
Maddy rolled her eyes, getting up and somehow managing to find a phone charger around the huge building complex. She brings it back down to him. "This compatible?" She asked, hoping that her boyfriend didn't see her injuries. She was hoping to get to her house, clean up, and she'd tell him later.
Tim took the charger. "This will do perfectly. Thank you" he plugged himself in for the night and went off to bed.
Maddy smiles in amusement, carefully walking around base. She was already later getting back. The last thing she needed was someone taking in her appearance.
