It was her. Standing right there, in front of him. Lips red as roses, eyes dark as night. It was her. And it was him. Right there. Right at that moment. It was as if the past was back; the memories were reality; the pain was gone.
He pulled her close to him. Chest to chest. Heartbeat to heartbeat. He pulled her close to him, not even an inch between them.
He was tired of distance. Of missing her. Tired of the lonely nights where she was only a dream.
She was there, and he was there. His heart raced as did hers.
If only they could bring back those years.
If only they could turn past into present.
