"Huh? I always knew I'd end up coming to a place like this" Dick breathed out, glancing around the main entrance of the prison itself and taking in the sights. It wasn't as filthy or creepy look as he assumed it would be, but than again Clark was living here and he liked things kept as clean and tidy as possible.
"You don't seem much of a criminal, how could end up in place?" Diana curiously asked as she turned towards the younger man, wondering why he would ever think he'd end up in a prison.
"Visiting all three of my brothers" Dick stated without any hesitation and placing Cass down on the ground now they were inside.
"I'd gain my own pirate room. Pick out the best solitary confinement cell and make it my place. Gain a ton of bitches to follow-" Jason announced with a bit of pride, nodding his head along as he thought over his plans if he did end up in prison.
"Language" Dick scolded, interrupting his brother.
"I'd gain many loyal follower's who'd both fear me and respect me as I rule the prisoner as a king. I'd live rather nicely if I was given the chance in such a place" Jason corrected his mistake and carried on explaining his prison plans.
"I can understand why Damian and Jason would clearly be living the rest of their lives in in prison but why was I included with them?" Tim asked a little outraged that his eldest brother had thrown him in together with his brothers.
"I know your computer skills. You're a hacker, low key but still a criminal. You'll get caught hacking something stupid because you're upset and bam, life in prison" Dick answered with a knowing look and tapped the tip of his second brother nose. He always knew how smart his second brother was and what he was capable over. He wasn't as harmless as he played to be.
"They'd never be smart enough to catch me" Damian scoffed back as he crossed his arms over his chest, standing a bit smug for a kid his age.
"I catch you all the time" Dick pointed out with an amused chuckled.
"That's different, Grayson. I allow you too" Damian mumbled back embarrassed and trying to act like he was allowing it to happen.
"That's not what we see?" Tim smirks back as Dick always catches Damian during the act. Dick is one of the only people who can and not only Damian but all of them. It's as if he has his own special spider senses linked to the three of them.
"Shut it you mortals" Damian snarled back, ready to jump at his siblings but Dick simply held the back of his jacket and held him back.
Clark cleared his voice, a small laugh escaping between his lips before he stood with a knowing smile. He nodded his head at something or more like, someone heading towards them. Diana turned her head as well, her back to the main entrance that was locked once more along with the prison gates outside. They had two locked defences against any waves of zombies that try breaking in.
"D-Dick?" Bruce called out, stuttering as he stood stunned at seeing his oldest. Seeing his oldest son, unharmed, unbitten and just .. alive right before his eyes. He had assumed that his family would still be safely tucked inside the bunker beneath the mansion or.. or that he'd lost a family all again.
"B! You're alive" Dick beamed back, leaping forward and scooping his father into a bug hug, squeezing him tight and so glad to see him again.
"W-What are you doing here? How did you get here? I-I thought .. Alfred never sent word" Bruce blurted back, still in a state of shock, his arms slowly lifting up before he finally snaked them around his son, relief finally filling him.
"Neither did you. Alfred kept the spare phone close by since we heard that this city was taken over. We waited for you to call the number or send a text. We kept it on as long as we could .. until it was time to leave the bunker for good" Dick argued back as he broke the hug, hopping a couple steps back and standing with his siblings once more. His hands on his hips as he sternly and looking like a scolding mother. His brother's all giving a gloating grin as they knew their father was in big trouble.
"You came all this way without word?" Bruce asked surprised before having a small, almost hidden smile taken over his straight lined lips. Of course his children would travel so far without any word.
"Yes and if you ever leave me with all my siblings trapped in a single bunker again, than I'll have no choice but to purposely turn into a zombie. I'll lock you and my siblings up in a single cell, swallowing the key afterwards and purposely not eat any of you and stand as guard to that cell. Forcing you to spend the rest of eternity trapped with all of your children without any escape. And I promise that I won't let the virus control my mind just so I can enjoy the afterlife knowing you'll be left suffering in such hell. Are we clear over not leaving me with the family again, without word from you .. yes?" Dick whispered in a warning tone as he leans closer to his father, his smile overly sweet and clearly threatening as he wasn't going to find himself left behind with all his siblings in a single bunker ever again.
"My apologies. I'll try to not let it happen again, as well as I can during such ... times" Bruce weakly replied, clearing his voice and forgetting just how scary his oldest can be sometimes.
"Glad we came to an agreement" Dick smiled brightly standing up straight again and seeming as the perky bird he normally was.
"So, you have more sons than just Richard. When were you going to tell the rest of the class" Clark asked with a raised eyebrow, his arms crossed over his chest and Diana stood in a copying pose beside him. Bruce had yet to mention any form of family during his time with them. Clark had assumed that Bruce had thought that Richard would already be dead or something. Most topic of family was a sore spot for people nowadays.
"And a daughter" Dick perked up with an innocent smile, glancing down to Cass who was hugging his legs from behind, hiding up.
"I have a daughter?" Bruce asked a little startled by the news. He didn't remember having one before his business trip.
"You've got a daughter" Jason admitted with a small nod, stepping forward and ruffling Cass hair lightly before stepping back again.
"We gained a sister" Tim smiled, rather happy over having a less deadly younger sibling in their family.
"You've finally got a girl beside Tim" Damian grinned back rather cocky.
"Hey!" Tim cried back, glaring towards Damian who only looked smugger.
"Bruce, meet Cass. She's my new sister. Cass this is our father, Bruce. Cass is a little shy and needs her own space. But she's a sweetheart and she loves to hold hands. Please don't suddenly touch her, she get's startled rather easily and will attack you. But in due time, she'll get use to you and comfortable and let you freely pat her head" Dick introduced the two with a charming smile, nodding to each one he spoke over to help make it easer for them. Turning a bit sheepish and worried as he admits over his sister not being overly touchy with strangers and easily spooked. It'd be best if those in the camp gave her some space until she was comfortable with them.
"Nice to meet you" Bruce replied, his voice less guff and stern as he didn't want to spook his newest child.
Cass just stared up at him from where she clung to Dick leg, staying hidden behind him before giving a shy but polite nod in greeting. She's heard her brother's speak about her new father often enough and knew many fond stories, along with embarrassing ones over him.
"She's also mute but that's okay. She's very talkative with her body. She's able to write a little, we've been practicing before bed time" Dick quickly smiled as he placed a hand on her back, reassuring her and pushing her in front of him for Bruce to see her more clearly.
"You can't just go around adopting siblings" Bruce sighed as he pinched the top of his nose.
"Why not? You've done it for sons" Jason commented with a shrug, not seeing anything wrong with it if his father could do it.
"Must we keep them?" Bruce asked with a deep scowl as he turned towards Clark, completely sick of his family attitude already.
"You singed the adoption papers, you've got no choice" Damian simply reminded his father of such a fact.
"So suck it, dad" Jason smirked back, throwing his middle finger up towards him while Dick back was still turned to him.
"Well, I'm free to go. He never signed any adoption papers for me. I'm just his ward" Dick mumbled out as he kept an arm slung round Cass shoulder's, keeping her into a half hug beside him to comfort her with so much going on at once.
"How hard is it to change Jason to Dick on adoption papers?" Jason asked completely serious as he turned to his smarter brother.
"With Dad style of writing .. impossible. Not even doctors can read them" Tim sighed in defeat.
"Where is Alfred? How about-" Bruce started to ask before being quickly spoken over by his eldest son rushed voice.
"We can discuss such matters later on, in private" Dick quickly said, lightly leading Cass towards Jason who soon held his hand out to her and she took it.
"Why don't you follow us inside. We normally quarantine any newcomers for two days in a holding cell close to the entrance. But if you give me your word that none of your siblings or yourself have been bitten or scratched, we'll skip that bit" Clark smiled as he stepped forward, happy to lead them around the prison and get them settled in to their new home.
"We will?" Diana asked as her eyebrow shot up to her hairline. That's wasn't protocol and they haven't broken the basic rules before. Not even for some close friends of their own.
"You can trust Dick's word. He's never broken it before" Clark explained as he fully trusted Dick word once it was given.
"Anyone hiding any bites or scratches from me? Tell me now otherwise you'd be forcing me to break my word" Dick spoke up as he turned round to his siblings who all glanced over themselves to double check for anything obvious before shaking their heads to show they were clean.
Dick smiled back at them, rather proud they weren't trying to pick a fight or argue over the fact that they had to be asked or checked. Giving them all two huge thumbs up before scooping Damian up as he knew his brother wasn't so called with strangers or other's surrounding him and that Jason would only carry him if they were escaping to safety.
"I give my word, we're clean" Dick promised as he looked Clark straight in the eyes, making his word stand out even more.
Clark smiled back before glancing towards Bruce, checking he was happy to skip the whole quarantine stage. Bruce didn't make any comment or seem dissatisfied making Clark smile, nodding his head in approval over skipping the stage.
"Follow us. We'll give the full tour. First we better make our way to the yard, it surrounds the whole prison and makes a full circle around the building itself once you pass the entrance building. We can start the tour there and point out the doors that actually leads outside and the ones that'd be locked 24/7. The prison is big and not all of it is used. So, we only keep the areas and doors we need unlocked. Stops us from having so many entrances and exits that we can't guard" Clark said as he started leading the group, waving for them all to follow along while Bruce and Diana followed along behind the handful of children, keeping them safely boxed in.
Dick followed right behind Clark, easily carrying a grumpy Damian in his arms and listening to every word Clark said in case it was important or be useful for later on. Tim followed behind his eldest brother, able to grab his brother coat if he reached his arm out but still giving them some breathing room. Jason followed behind Tim, tightly but carefully holding Cass hand and being a silent reassurance to her while they walked along the unknown place.
Bruce watched his sons, and now daughter carefully. Silently looking them over and taking in the differences since the last time he's seen them. Taking in how much the apocalypse had changed and effected them.
He was a little proud to see Jason step up more, he knew his second oldest had always secretly cared but struggled with showing his feelings and explaining himself. But now, he was doing his brother duties with ease and giving small hints over how much he loved his family. The while business of silently taking Cass hand when it was needed and leaving Damian to Dick proved that fact. How both of his eldest sons kept Tim protectively tucked between them, keeping him safe even while they couldn't carry or hold his hand like the younger two.
He wasn't happy to see how much .. smaller Tim had became in the world. He seemed held onto his intelligence and held something against Damian. But he was scared, he clung closer to his brother's more than he did before t he apocalypse. He seemed easily spooked and always ready to bolt unlike before he'd stay and read a room, wait until the last few minutes before running when needed. Clearly he'd been affected the most by the undead walking about and needing as much comfort as he could get.
Damian seemed more tame. He wasn't picking as many fights or held as much as his god complex as he did before. He seemed to think more over his words and when to strike. Still not getting along with all his brother's but holding his tongue better now. Only picking a fight with them at the right times and listening to them when needed. He'd grown up just that little bit more, became mature in a better way than before.
Than Cass, he wasn't sure over her. He never met her before today. But he took in his eldest son's warnings over keeping some distance. To slowly gain her trust and wait until she made the first more before ever getting into her personal space. She clearly held some problems, if it was before or after the apocalypse, something terrible clearly happened to her. But he was glad to know that his son's had somehow gave her a home, made her feel safe enough to trust them and stay with them.
Than Dick. Bruce wasn't sure what to think over his oldest. He was scared over who his eldest might stand as today. He was a cop, a detective, someone who'd be sent on t he front lines to help the people once Gotham had been hit with the walking dead. Barley any first responders had survived the outbreak and yet, he was alive and taking the burden over protecting his family. He still seemed his stupidly smiling, perky and secretly scary when mad self. Seemed like nothing much had changed for him but Bruce knew that the hardships and burden might be close to breaking him, his eyes didn't seem to .. glimmer as much as they did before.
Soon they were out in the yard, near the more popular part of the yard with benches in sight. An outside gym could be seen in the distance more and they had already walked past a basketball court.
All coming to a slow stop as Clark carried on with his long, never ending welcoming speech. Passing on rules, time restrictions and what certain doors would lead towards. One of the set of doors actually lead to the food hall itself so not everyone walked through the different wards in the prison and normally used the yard as short cuts for where they were heading towards. Seemed like the prison could be a bit of a maze, even to those who have been here the longest.
None of them really noticed as someone came darting towards them, another person chasing after their idiotic friend and calling out for them to wait. Bruce took notice, rolling his eyes and getting ready to send them away before they interrupted Clark speech and his son's tour.
But than he was froze by the name that was called out.
"Robin?"
Bruce was left frozen, his eyes grown wide at the nickname that hasn't been used since the night of the Grayson's deaths. A nickname that was buried deep in his son past and left close to his heart. Finding the nickname heart-breaking to be called by anyone but his loving parents.
"Wallace" Dick breathed out, his lips spreading into a bright and blinding smile as a glimmer filled his eyes once again.
"I knew it was you. You really came. As soon as I heard Uncle B mention that a bunch of kids were brought in, I came running. I can't believe you actually came" Wally rambled out excitedly, his face bright red and showing he really did come sprinting round to find him as soon as he heard the rumour over them entering the camp.
"Of course I would. You made the camp sound so charming and welcoming. I had to give it a shot, for my brother's at least. And well, you said you'd be waiting for me. I couldn't let you down" Dick shyly smiled as he shuffled Damian weight unconsciously, his eyes whole heartedly focused on the bundle of joy that stood before him.
"Are you really going to stay? For good" Wally asked, hopeful that this wasn't just a pit stop for the family but he'd actually stay. His eyes pleading for Dick to stick around with him.
"I'm hoping so, yes" Dick admits with a small nod, his smile growing as he watched pure relief and joy take over Wally.
"T-That's great. Really. I guess we'll be stuck together a little longer now" Wally stuttered back with a grin, rubbing the back of his head and feeling a bit embarrassed over seeming so desperate for him to stay.
"Seems we will be" Dick smirked back, an amused chuckle escaping his lips and sounding like music to poor wally ears.
"Ah, I knew he'd be a red head" Damian commented as he stared at the stranger.
"This must be the pretty eyes dude" Tim detected with a small nod as he held his chins, understanding who the boy was by his brother mere reactions to him.
"Defiantly his type. No wonder he chased after him for such a booty call" Jason sighed as he rubbed at the side of his neck with his free hand, understanding why his brother was so hooked on chasing after the guy to his camp.
"Seems you weren't Dick's reason on heading to our city or camp. They must have heard news over someone else being here" Diana casually commented to Bruce, holding back her laugh over the turn of events as Bruce simply glared towards the red hair.
"You must be the beloved brother's he was so desperately searching for. I'm glad he was able to find you all safely. He told me a lot about you" Wally spoke up with a friendly smile as he turned to the rest of "Robin" family and was glad to see them all together again and left untouched form harm.
"He did?" Tim asked surprised, turning to Dick who gave a bashful nod.
"And you're still trying to chase after our brother? You're rather brave or stupid" Jason blurted out without thinking and gaining a glare from his oldest brother while Wally weakly chuckled, not sure how to feel over that response.
"I will destroy you if you ever lay your eyes on my brother for any longer than a mere second" Damian threatened without any hesitation and gaining a scolding look from Dick.
"You must be Tim. And you're clearly Jason, meaning you must be little D. I've heard a lot over you all and you're as cute as Robin told me you were. You've got one good brother looking out for you, feel lucky to have kept him this long" Wally smiled as he pointed to each brother, guessing correctly by their nods or glares sent towards him. Noticing them soften up a little as they mention over how such a good brother Dick was and seeing the fondness they held for him.
"You've haven't guessed everyone" Dick pointed out as he nodded towards his last sibling who was curiously staring up at the red headed she's heard so much, but so very little over at the same time.
"You must be the lovely Queen Cass, no man or women will ever be worthy enough of your love. I'll be your loyal servant for as long as I'm around, m 'lady" Wally spoke as posh as he could, kneeling down and giving his must charming smile as he looked straight towards Cass who gave a giggly smile back and acting a little bashful.
"Cass this is Wallace, he's safe. Trust me" Dick smiled softly as he looked towards his sister who glanced between the kneeled man and her oldest brother.
Cass slowly released Jason hand, shocking them all before she shuffled closer to wally and held her hand out to him. She didn't normally get so close to other's she just met, this was a first for all them to witness. Wally quickly got rid of his own shock after hearing Dick clear his voice and took Cass hand, pressing a light kiss to the back of her knuckles as if she was really a queen. Cass seemed a little startled over the act and soon hurried to hide behind Dick making the oldest brother laugh. Wally gave a sheepish look, rubbing the back of his neck as he stood up and hoped he didn't scare the sister overly much but by Cass peeking her head out and kindly waving towards him, he assumed he was still on he good side.
"Don't get any silly thoughts of bringing your lips anywhere near my brother" Damian warned, tightening his arms around Dick neck and clinging to his brother even more.
"Such threat's don't work on me, little D. Robin told me all about how your threats show you care" Wally foolishly replied as he gave a cheerful smile, feeling as if he won another family member over but truly didn't. The whole Wayne family suddenly felt very pitiful towards the poor guy for believing such a lie told by Dick.
