His Maid, Pregnant

You knew that there wasn't a day that the Phantomhive manor was ever normal or at peace. Every morning it's something new, this morning it was vomit. Quite disgusting right, yes, you were throwing up in the sink all morning. Barely moving an inch covered in a cold sweat you called for Mey-rin, hoping she was passing by at some point.

"Y/n?" Finny knocked on the door before entering. "Oh, my goodness. I'll call Sebastian."

~

"My goodness you're burning up," Sebastian took his hand off your forehead. "Here," he put a cool damp cloth on your forehead. You felt restricted and annoyed. Overwhelmed and hot, you tossed and turned till the blanket was thrown off.

"Y/n?!" Sebastian looked at you concerned, you never acted like that in front of him. Bratty and fussy.

"It's hotttt," you drawled out, unbuttoning your nightgown Sebastian must've changed you back into. There was a knock on the door and Mey-rin came in accompanied by the young lord and a doctor. "Ah so you're my patient today," he cheerfully said earning a glare from you. "Tough crowd, uh pardon me my lord I can't have everyone in here. Doctor-patient confidentiality surely you understand."

Sebastian whispered something to the doctor about you acting strangely before accompanying the rest of them out of the room.

"Well let's examine you, shall we?" He asked a few questions checking your temperature and other things.

"I think I know what the... "problem" if you'd like to call it that, is."

"What is it?"

"I'd have to make sure first before anything. I need to examine you further," he said awkwardly.

~

Tears came to your eyes, "Are you sure?"

"I can call for a second opinion if you doubt -"

"Um no no... Thank you, doctor. I'd um, rather tell everyone myself if you don't mind."

He packed his medical bag and bowed pulling the thick rope next to your head meant to ring for a servant. Sebastian came in escorting the doctor outside for a carriage. You walked to the balcony making sure he was staying with the doctor before pacing around slightly embarrassed you had to go through that.

'Do I even want a child?'

You stopped pacing.

'Does he want one?'

Grabbing your robe and slipping on your slippers you left the room and went to your own throwing on your uniform corset free. You set off looking for Mey-rin.

Shiny shoes clicked their way around the corner, and you disappeared around another corner, you couldn't face him just yet. You walked around the manor, desperate for work. Anything to keep your nervous mind and hands busy. How were you supposed to tell him? There she was, in the laundry room struggling.

"Mey, let me help with th-"

"Don't be stupid, you can't possibly work today."

"How did you-"

"A woman knows Y/n, it's not witchcraft," she laughed.

How could she know but you didn't? She doesn't make sense sometimes. "Come on, it won't kill me to help you with laundry," you said picking up the soap and measuring it. Dropping it in the water, you stirred till it started frothing. You reached for a basket of linen, pulling out a sheet to wash.

"Are you going to tell Sebastian or are you going to...?"

You looked at her pained and confused on what to do.

"Arbuthnot's Apothecary, they have tonics that will help if you want to keep or get rid of it. I've seen it on the way from getting groceries," she whispered looking around as if anyone was eavesdropping.

Weighing your options, you sighed shaking your head, your hands pruned and slick, and your knuckles raw from washing the sheets. You looked at Mey-rin as she worked, maybe having the baby wouldn't be so bad. Sebastian wouldn't leave for sure, and you have the entire household to help you if you swallowed your pride and asked. Your decision was looking a bit more clear until Sebastian entered the room.

"There you are, why aren't you resting?" he looked at your expression puzzled. "Is something the matter?"

"Um lavatory, I'll be back," you choked out hurrying past him and shut yourself into the nearest one.

Sinking to the floor you buried your head in your knees and cried. Your sniffles must've carried because the door creaked open and in slinked Sebastian like a comforting cat. Kneeling in front, he pet your hair. "You've been avoiding me, what is it?" Sobbing harder knowing you can't lie to him to save your life, you sealed your lips. Not ready to say it just yet.

He picked your chin up gently, "I'm not going to know if you keep it from me."

You gestured to the floor next to you with your puffy eyes. He looked at the floor next to you with hesitation and couldn't bring himself to do it. You wanted to tell him damn the tailcoat but were still preparing for what you were about to say. Feeling if you said it, you'd throw up again.

"Sebastian...I'm pregnant," you choked out. His beautiful wine eyes widened at your statement.

"What?"

Well, that got him to sit down.

~

Suffice to say Sebastian was as worried and as stressed as you. He even screwed up while on duty resulting in the young lord calling you to his office.

"If Sebastian makes me another cup of tea-coloured water I swear I'll scream. What is his problem?" He huffed, annoyed at his inability to enjoy his tea without sending it back. Sebastian came back in with a fresh pot of tea and you nervously giggled. "Well my lord, we're expecting a baby."

Sebastian dropped the cup in his hand quickly apologizing and getting the spare cup he brought along. The young lord smirked looking at Sebastian's nervousness, "I believe a congratulations is in order. I wish you both the best of luck, you're dismissed Y/n."

"Thank you, my lord," you grinned widely turning to leave.

"Wait Y/n, I want you to know you can take it easy. From what I've read, carrying a child is no walk in the park."

"How comforting sir," you said sarcastically, finally leaving the room with a rare anxious Sebastian.

~

More vomit this morning just like almost every morning for the past week. Choking down ginger seemed to help with the morning sickness, it however didn't help with your temper.

"My love calm down-"

"Don't tell me to calm down when you don't even know what to do!" You snapped at him. He decided it was best not to approach you in such a frenzied state. "You can't expect me to know everything, I already told you there have been no records or even myths about a half-breed child. Demons mate with demons that's how it's always been."

You paced around his room trying to figure out what to do, how to prepare... what would it look like?! You stopped abruptly and turned to him. "Sebastian, when pure demonic babies are born... what do they look like?"

"Depends on them and their parents. Two powerful demons would produce a powerful child most likely so whatever creature they're most like will show a bit. You're human however I'm going to assume it will come out looking like a human."

"Just how powerful would you be?" He smirked and bent to your height, "I think you know." Your cheeks growing warm you started pacing again. "So let's combine what we know about each breed being born. Humans normal, cord attached, takes approximately nine months, grows in the stomach, kicks sometimes umm umm your turn I guess."

"Takes about three weeks-"

"WHAT?!"

Ignoring you, he continued, "Can come later, the late average is about two months, your being human will certainly slow down the process. Rather than eating urges, they cause rather aggressive mood swings," he looked you up and down "Normal for you I suppose," he muttered. "Sensual urges run higher as well. "

"Okay, so it'll prolong it for a bit, we can lie and say I was pregnant for a while before and if it's way too soon we can say premature. Got it?"

"You certainly think fast when stressed."

"Yes- oh no stress causes the baby to come earlier."

"That I can help with. I'm here as a husband, your personal butler, and soon a father," he got on one knee and bowed kissing your stomach which hadn't grown from its normal state thankfully.

"Keep it in your pants next time if you don't want me this stressed again," you pushed his forehead playfully and he wrapped his arms around your resting them on your hips.

"No promises," he winked.
