His Maid, Attacked

"AGH!"

The young lord screamed startling everyone in the room. His eye popped open his hand outstretched to the ceiling as if he was grabbing at something. Finny grabbed his hand crying, "Thank goodness you're awake."

"Nearly gave me a fright sir," Bard said finally smiling, he was worried sick the whole time you all were there, they all were.

"Young Master Ciel, how are you feeling?" Mey-rin asked as you got up to wipe the sweat from his brow.

"Ciel?" he breathed out trembling with every breath he drew. "My lord?" Sebastian reached out and gripped his hand, he instantly freaked out upon his touch, violently slapping his hand away making everyone jump back. He scurried back into the headboard screaming not to touch him as if someone was trying to attack him, gripping onto anything he could grab.

"Hey, hey it's only Sebastian," you tried to gently grab him but he kept flailing about. "Shh calm down," he gripped your arms harshly.

"Mother make him stop! He's gone to kill Ciel!"

Your heart leapt in confusion, "No one is trying to kill you my lord, it's only Se-"

"Don't let him hurt Ciel, turn on the lights and see! Why is it so dark?!"

You were all stunned at his behaviour, he's never once rejected Sebastian or called anyone mother, not even Madame Red who was more a mother to him than anyone else. The most shocking however is that it was bright in the room, not dark.

"My lord it's not dark at all, what's wrong?" he reached out his hand a bit more cautiously but Tanaka grabbed his arm shaking his head. You retracted his shaking hands and placed them at his side and Finny held on to the rest of him.

Mey-rin had broken down and everyone went to bed while you and Sebastian stood in the hallway.

"I'm not even surprised. Alright, explain," you crossed your arms and rested them on your baby bump. He explained how he and the young lord went out to investigate despite the warnings and how their skin changed once they attempted to chase a werewolf, then the Lady Sullivan had performed some spell to help them recover.

"You saw the beast?"

"Yes, whether it was real or not, couldn't say," he put his fingers to grip his chin furrowing his eyebrows.

"What idiotic thing are you going to do?" he raised an eyebrow at you as if to insult your intelligence. "Do you or do you not see your skin?"

"Am I or am I not in a different condition than the young lord?" You huffed, air filling your cheeks giving you the expression of a blowfish.

"Relax I'll be back before you could think of falling asleep."

~

The next morning was the same, he denied Sebastian again ordering to leave him be. In the kitchen downstairs you all awaited your orders along with the same three women who escorted you and Mey-rin to your rooms the night before. Frau Hilde was among them looking as livid as ever that you all were allowed to stay.

"My introduction is a bit late but I am Sebastian, I'll be master Sullivan's butler for a while," he bowed to them.

They introduced themselves as Hilde, Grete and Anne.

"I'll be bothering you for a while so if you're in need of a man's hand please do tell me. Well then!" he clapped his hands together like he always does when giving out orders. "For today's duties... Bard, make the preparations for lunch; Snake, polish the silverware; Mey-rin, the bed sheets if you will; and Finny and Y/n, you two will look after the young master."

"Yee- WHAT?!" Finny was happy to be working again, however, it wasn't the work he expected.
"You two are the only ones who can go near him right now and Y/n can't be left alone right now either, you know he can be a bit demanding. Make him a light breakfast when he wakes up and if he doesn't want to eat... some warm milk and honey should suffice."

~

"Not even a light salad?"

He pushed away the plate of food you tried to coax him to eat and buried himself underneath his covers like a hermit crab. "How about some warm milk?" Finny asked him.

He stopped trembling under the blanket and poked his head out, "With honey?" He asked in s voice not his own... so frail and wavering, not at all the boy you first met and watched grow this past year.

"We'll put as much honey as you want, let's make it really sweet!"

"Let's not rot his teeth, I'm sure certain people wouldn't appreciate that."

He put a considerate amount of honey then blew on the milk to cool it down but the hot liquid landed on the young lord's face causing him to yell and hiss in pain.

"Finny!"

"Eek! Sorry sorry!" He grabbed a towel and went to wipe his face but stopped midway to remind himself to be gentle while you remade the drink.

"Does it hurt?"

"No..."

"Young Master, when you're done here might want to get some fresh air?"

"No. It's scary outside," he said pulling his knees to his chest burying his face... really not the boy you knew.

"IT'LL BE FINE! IF ANYTHING SCARY COMES I'LL GET RID OF AAAAAALL OF THEM!!!"

"Finny don't yell, he's frightened enough," you finished preparing his substitute breakfast and put the cup down on the tray until he was ready for it.

"I'll protect you no matter what!"

"I'm not worth protecting... not only me, just... just," too choked up to finish his sentence he started crying.

"Hey hey no," you walked over to him and sat on the edge. "My lord, you are worth protecting," you picked up the ends of the sheet bunching it up and patting his face dry so the rough material wouldn't scratch his sensitive face. "Sure you do employ us but I assure you we're loyal to the end and wouldn't dare let anything harm you. If you weren't worth protecting, you think in this vulnerable state we'd be here taking care of you?"

He shook his head a little then jumped at the sound of knocking. You dapped the edge of his eye drying the remaining tears as Sebastian came in carrying Lady Sullivan. "Lady Sullivan's here to see you," you said bringing the chair you originally sat on around to the other side of the bed. He placed her down and whispered for Finny to move the dishes.

You hugged Sebastian groaning lightly into his arms, "He didn't even drink the milk yet," you shook your head on his chest.

"How are you Ciel?"

You picked your head up quickly, "You're speaking English?"

"I am a witch you know though it's not perfect," you noticed her attire was different, it was more modern, more English. "I came to change your bandages."

"Will it hurt?"

"It'll hurt more if I don't," she said making him peek out from under the covers which he had once again buried himself in. He sat up and she unwrapped his bandages letting them fall to the bed. His expression was no longer the bored, cold face he seem to never remove. It was more childlike as if he didn't want to disappoint someone.

"You're healing quite fast! As expected, a young man full of life!"

If she was lying or not you couldn't tell, you didn't know what ailed him. Her word was all you could trust right now. She patched him up quickly and Sebastian took her up and left with the old bandages. He crawled back under his blanket as the door closed, "Nap."

"I think we could both benefit from one," you yawned taking advantage of this but sat next to his figure and leaned into the headboard just in case he needed you.

~

Dinner time came and Finny had woke the both of you up. He had a small appetite and you had a not so small appetite, you were eating for two after all. One scone was all he could choke down.

"Oh come on just o-"

Finny stopped talking and whipped his head towards the balcony. A loud crash came from behind you and a werewolf came barreling in attacking the three of you. Finny grabbed the both of you and shielded you from the swipes. One hit landed and scratched his back, his eyes glowed and he kicked the beast hard in its gut. There was a commotion outside the door from everyone else trying to come in. It turned on its heel and leapt out the window back into the forest just as everyone burst in.

"Werewolf! It left through the window!"

Bard ran to the balcony and looked down, "I'll go after it!"

"Stop, the werewolf emits miasma!"

"Huh?"

"He's right, don't go after it," Sebastian translated for Bard.

"What? What's going on?! How could a werewolf attack here?!" Lady Sullivan came in with the help of her witch balloons, the young lord began panicking again and she gave him a look of sympathy. "Wolfram prepare the Green Witch Service. I will protect this village!" He picked her up swiftly and walked out clearly angered. You raised your eyebrow up at Sebastian and for once since you've known him, he had nothing.

That just left you all with the taxing task of putting him to sleep. And what a task it was, trying to get him to calm down was terrible. He kept flailing and screaming, maybe all the antics tired him out. It was a long night and only Finny didn't seem to be tired, more worried than anything so you put your head on the edge of the bed to rest your eyes. That's until there was a knock at the door. Finny opened the door to see Sebastian there, a cold expression on his face. He walked swiftly past him, confusing the boy and making you pick your head up also confused.

"Finny, Y/n... will you two leave for a while?"
