A Life Together

The afternoon glow of the sunlight blazed on the horizon. Its sizzling warmth reached the land of Fire, a slight kiss for to the life below it. Despite the heat, a breeze caresses them now and then, refreshing the crowd as they were sitting in their assigned seats.

The reception was held near the beauty of nature, surrounded by its natural aroma outside the hall where the couple exchanged their vows. Rounded tables were being served their meals, their noses were filled with exquisite cuisine, spices from the meat custard from a sauce along with white rice. As they dug into their meals, their attention was caught by the Nara male. A glass of wine in hand, he looked at the audience as he gave his speech.

"I've known Naruto ever since we were kids."Shikamaru switched his gaze to the couple that was sitting a few steps away from where he stood. Said male smiled back at his friend. He turned back to the crowd. "We experienced many things together, our happy moments and our many hardships."

The bride continued to smile, although it was bittersweet. She reminisced on the many things that could have prevented her husband from growing up in isolation. No friends or family to look after him, to cheer him up in moments of sadness, to peck his wounds when he's hurt, to care for him in times of sickness, to pick up the pieces when his heartbroken. No one to bother with a boy who only craved to be loved. They were quite similar.

After all, she was once unloved by the world too. Before she met Naruto, an obscure world was where she was living in. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What a complete farce. They judged her based on what she was and not for who she was. A chance was never given despite her trying to make the effort even though she was shy. Nevertheless, breathlessness was a path she wanted to take. A path was set for her death.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when a handheld hers. Making circles with his thumb in comfort of her. She lifted her gaze only to meet the aqua pools that displayed nothing, but love.

"I've never seen him any happier than when his with Nia." Shikamaru continued.

The immense affection expressed in his gaze melted any negative thought that would dare turmoil her like a sea that crashed onshore,  wiping out the rough sands. This time, her wine lips couldn't help it but her cheeks tugged into an uncontrollable smile.

"I would like to give a toast to both of you." The Nara lifted his glass in the air as everyone got on their feet doing the same. "I wish the couple happiness on their new journey together." Clangs rang throughout as their glasses collided. The audience had their cheers and applauded filling the atmosphere with joyful noise. After, they resumed back to their meals.

Nia shut her eyes momentarily to harbour her tears at bay. However, that didn't seem to work, Naruto chuckled as his wife's face became a bit wet from a few tears that slipped.

Wife...He loved the sound of that.

Gently and carefully, the Uzumaki wiped her tears, taking his time to ensure that her make-up isn't ruined. Plus, Sakura and Ino would kill him for destroying their hard work if he did so. He kissed her temple as he looked into her chocolate eyes. As he did so, a pink hue stained her melanin cheeks turning her gaze elsewhere.

An hour went by, the main course finished. The bride and groom stood near the dessert table as each guest went to congratulate the couple on their marriage. Once they did so, they took a piece of the wedding and other options of desserts displayed on the wooden table.

"Congrats you too!" They both turned to the voice revealing the younger kin.

Nia smiled, "Thanks Misumi." They embraced momentarily then let each other go.

In a tight, but lovely gown, Misumi's short, but cherry dress hugged her figure. Her attire stopped at her knees, a see-through lace fabric wrapping her at the bottom. Bust exposed shaped into a V neck, with matching scarlet heels.  Black straight hair tied into a bun leaving the rest of her strands to flow down her back. Two white pins kept her bun in place.

Misumi switched her eyes on her brother-in-law and nodded towards with a smile. The Uzumaki grinned in response. "It about times you guys tied the knot." She faced him. The male was prepared for a handshake but was taken aback as he was pulled down for a hug instead. The girl's tight embrace knocked some wind out of him.

"Misumi!"

"What?" Her kin grinned while letting her brother-in-law catch a breather. "His family now."

Naruto smiled sheepishly as his nape, "I'm alright." More like his alive.

"You wouldn't believe how many hearts, you've broken.."

"Well, that doesn't matter now." Naruto interrupted, his blues clashed with Nia's brown ones, "I have all that I need right here."

"I was talking about Nia."

"What!" Naruto's orbs blazed, "She's mine now!" He grabbed Nia's waist to crash on his own. This resulted in his wife becoming flustered.

"N-Naruto." Nia uttered, her cheeks flaring, "There are other people here. I'm sure she's just teasing you."

"I don't know about that." Misumi's glossed lips courted into a smirk while her eyes danced in amusement, "Overheard one of the waiter's say that you're kinda hot."

Immediately, Naruto marched towards the large glass building, hunting like a predator for his prey with Nia trailing behind trying to stop her husband from causing havoc. This left other guests a bit baffled by his actions, but others went back to their business already used to the boy's antics.

Sakura glared at her teammate shaking her head, "Where the hell is he going now?"

Ino shrugged, "It's just Naruto being Naruto."

Misumi giggled at his reaction. She warmed up to the Uzumaki when introduced the first time. Skeptical at first considering her sister's reputation with men in the past, she wasn't so trusting of Naruto. She thought Nia would get hurt if she were to crush on a guy who not only seemed dense, but also in love with another girl. Knowing her sister, she thought that Nia would be heartbroken at the fact that Naruto would choose someone else due to her looks.

But, even she wasn't blind on how the way he stared at her.

She burst in fits of laughter as the waiter shrunk from the Uzumaki's hostile gaze while tried to prey him away from the innocent servant.

Now, she's certain her kin will be happy with this man.

"Aunt Mimi!" Misumi head rotated as two figures came crashing near her legs almost making her tumble. Her nieces lifted their big blue eyes, their vibrant smiles made one emerge on her face. She picked them, one in each arm, pecking them on their chubby cheeks as they squealed from her affection.

"How are both my girls?"

Naruta giggled, "Look what me and Nisaki did." In her hands, was a crown created with flowers. It's leafy looks along with a few flowers surrounded the beautiful creation. Misumi whistled impressed. "Aunt Ino helped us."

"Where did ya get those flowers, eh?" Misumi lifted a mischevious brow as the girls froze. "You didn't take them from the vases inside did ya?"

Grabbing her Nisaki by her wrist, "I'm going to show grandma and grandpa." Then, they were off.

Again, a chuckle escaped her lips. She glanced back at the married couple. Now, they chatted happily with one another. Her gaze went back to her parents that were with her nieces along with a few of her brothers. They beamed as the twins gave them a hug, despite Nisaki's shy nature she managed to give her grandpa a kiss on the cheek much to his delight.

She couldn't help the smile that grew on her features. Her father threw a fit when he heard his daughter was impregnated by the nine tails. It wasn't the fact that it was just a guy, but it was a demon child. Misumi and their mother explained to him that he was being unreasonable. This resulted in him calling them bias due to the fact they took a liking to the boy. His anger took the best of him when he forbid Nia from stepping a foot in their house again. It took months for him to come around once Naruto went to comfort her father. In conclusion, Naruto ended up in the hospital, but at least Nia reconciled with her family.

Now, look at him, giggling like a schoolgirl around the twins. It was almost funny how a man as big as he can be tamed by two adorable girls.

The evening was stocked with melodious music. The joyful chortle voices as they danced with one another in the gleaming light of the setting sun. Chattering amongst themselves as they continued to eat their desserts. Savouring the sweetness and soft texture of it. Soon after, stars hit the shimmering skies, lighting up the darkened horizon. Echoes of crickets, meshed with the voices of the audience. Everyone decided to hit the hay early due to Nia not feeling well for the remainder of the night. Misumi took charge of the twins as she wanted her sister to spend some private time with Naruto. Nia went red to the top of her head to the tip of her toes.

Once they arrived in their home, they both went upstairs as they did so Nia dropped to her knees. Alarmed Naruto picked up his wife carrying her in a bridal style as he continued to make his way up the rest of the steps.

"Sorry if we had to leave early." Guilt bubbled in the woman's stomach unable to meet his gaze.

Naruto gave her a reassuring smile, "It's fine." He kissed her forehead, "I wanted to spent some alone time with you anyway."

Nia smiled, "Really? Do you mean that?"

"Yup." They arrived in their bedroom. With care, he made sure to watch his step due to the darkness, Nia picked up a pleasing fragrance the roamed the atmosphere.

"Now, I get to have you all to myself." He grinned, Nia's cheeks flared at his gaze. A very lust one at that ,but his broadened as his mind came to a realization, "Ah crap! I'll be right back." He left the room in a hurry.

A bit startled, Nia shook her head with a smile. she glanced at the window, a view of the outside world. The twinkling night sky as the moon gleamed through her window, it's light slipping through the glass brightening the room. The soft texture of an object on the bed made her curious as to what she hand brushed. Bringing it into the light, her hands reveal a petal. A rose petal.

She rose from her bed, red petals were all over the bed. Draped on the creamy coloured sheets and pillows. A blush appeared on her brown skin. He thought of all this and did it all for her.

"How romantic!" Her heart soared from the effort her husband put in this.

And there he was at the entrance of their bedroom door, a b wide box in his hand. As his wife took a seat at the edge of the bed, Naruto took a seat next to her. He held her hands in his own.

"I've been meaning to gave you this." He opened the box revealing a locket. Decorated in a flashy aqua with a small gem in the middle, he unsealed it unveiling a family photograph. Nia was almost weeping at the boy's gestures. He motioned her to face the other way, so he can place it on her neck. She did as she was told.

She felt the cold metal as he wrapped the necklaces on her neck. The gem shimmered in the spark of the moon. She caressed it with the tips of her pedicured fingers. She spun, facing him again and embraced him. Her arms wrapped around the nape of his nape as his around her waist.

"Thank you." It came out muffled, but loud enough for him to hear it. "Thank you." She repeated.

They parted, her hands his shoulder as he's still on her waist. They gazed into each others eyes. His bright blue eyes stared into her chocolate ones. Her heart raced a mile whenever she looked into his eyes. As blue as the skies in the day, but also gorgeous as the sea. Not even the darkness of the night has taken away the shimmer of his aqua pools. The deeper stared the deeper in love she fell. He beamed, a smile full of love for her.

How can someone like her get so lucky? Naruto was the hero of the world. A soon to be Hokage of the Leaf village and the most sought out bachelor. Many girls wanted their hands on the handsome Uzumaki, but were heartbroken to find out that he was already taken. Right now, she wanted this moment to last forever.

Her heart leaped at thought of their future together.

Their forever.

Nia takes his hand and places it on her stomach. It took only a few seconds for him to comprehend the situation as eyes showed confusion. Soon, blue eyes enlarge, a wide grin spread as Nia smiled softly. Once again, he embraced her.

Their future will be filled with many joys. And an addition to the family tree.
