Chapter 5 - First Meet

Riya's heart was thumping louder than usual. Her hands were sweating profusely under the gaze of the man standing in front of her, the same man she had seen in the elevator earlier that day. His entire aura exuded dominance. Standing at 6 feet tall with a thin build, his face was intriguing, and she couldn't quite pinpoint what it was that captivated her. Undoubtedly, he was an attractive and handsome man. His inviting pink lips and deep eyes seemed to pull Riya into a whirlpool. The more she looked into his eyes, the more she felt herself being drawn in. Her gaze shifted to his lips when she realized they weren't those of a stranger.

She trembled at the mere thought, a moment flashing before her eyes. In the moonlight, he had enclosed her in his arms and placed his lips over hers – her first stolen kiss. His lips were soft, and the mere touch ignited a spark within her entire body. As she rushed inside her room, her heart felt like it could burst at any moment. He was one of the most beautiful men she had ever laid her eyes on.

"Riya Viaan," a voice broke her trance, and she realized Yashika was eyeing her suspiciously. Standing with the man who had disturbed her since the morning, something seemed off.

She released the breath she had been holding for so long when Yashika intervened and introduced, "Riya, this is Viaan. He's the one you reached out to for carpooling."

The same man she had approached for carpooling had her emotions entwining since morning. She had seen him that morning, and for the first time in her life, she wanted to be a fangirl. He was indeed beautiful, and now she knew why he had such a huge female following. However, she did not know she would be meeting him face to face soon. The mere thought of being alone with this beautiful creature sent some naughty vibes she had never felt before.

"Hi," he said. He extended his hand for a handshake, and as soon as she touched his hand, a current passed through their bodies. Not sure if only Riya felt it, her doubts were cleared when she saw the same curiosity dancing in his eyes. His touch was soft, and Riya was already calming her heart.

"I wanted to speak to you about carpooling. I know you have different timings. I think we can sort it out. We can try coming to the office at 9:30 am or 10. You can come with me today, and I will drop you at Janakpuri Station," he spoke.

She wanted to speak, but it seemed like words were not coming out as usual. She wanted to deny outright, as her father was overprotective, and any change in timings would upset him. However, for once, she wanted to try. It was not like she would be reaching a lot later; it was merely half an hour or an hour's difference. He waited for her response.

"Sure," she said. "We can try once," and a big smile appeared on his lips. Her heart was already dancing, and she was observing butterflies for the first time in her stomach. The mere thought of spending two hours alone with this man was the icing on the cake.

"Cool, save my number, and I will save yours. We will leave at 6:30 pm today," he again flashed a toothy grin, and she simply nodded her head. Yashika, on the other hand, was observing the entire conversation and their body language. Both were unaware of sparks observed by Yashika flowing from them and reaching the entire world. She simply smiled, playing the cupid, unaware that these two are pieces of the same puzzle which the universe glued together long back.

At 6:30 pm sharp, his phone rang. After a short meeting with her, his heart was finally at peace. She was like a drop of water in the Sahara Desert. He was back to his work and was able to resolve the code logic in a mere half an hour, which he couldn't do the entire day. Finally, he looked up at the phone call and smiled. She was waiting for him to wrap up his work and was anxious to leave. It was peak hours of traffic, and she wanted to reach home early. Her father was overprotective, which she has clearly stated. He closed his laptop and asked her to wait near the elevator. He moved out of the floor when he was welcomed in an empty lobby. She was nowhere to be seen. Had she already left? A mere thought woke panic in his heart. He heard the click of footsteps coming his way, and the same scent filled the lobby. As he looked up at her, he realized she had perfectly combed her hair, kajal was now a bit darker on her eyes, and she was wearing a pink natural gloss on her lips. If this was for him, he was impressed. She still looked fresh at that time of the hour. As she smiled at him, his heart fluttered a bit. There was something alluring about this girl. It seemed her mere presence was all he needed to complete his life. As the elevator dinged, indicating they had reached the basement parking, she was quietly following Viaan to his car. He opened the car and urged her to sit. She slid inside the car, and one thing he realized was she was indeed nervous. She kept fidgeting her hands with her handkerchief. They started their journey back to Dwarka when they realized there was a huge traffic jam at Kalindi Kunj bridge. He cursed the traffic while shifting gears when she started the conversation.

"It's a huge traffic. Is it like this every day?" she asked.

"Yeah, every day it's like a disaster here. I feel there should be flying cars," Viaan joked.

"Your legs must be paining shifting the gears; I couldn't even imagine driving a car in this traffic. My dad gets paranoid every time I ask for a car to drive," she spoke.

Viaan was again amazed at how well she observed his discomfort in the traffic. To continue the conversation, he asked, "Where do you stay in Vikaspuri?"

"I stay in Promise Apartments, J Block," she replied. It would take her at least half an hour to reach her home from where he would drop her. And like that, their conversation started. Viaan got to know about her favorite cricketer, which was Sachin Tendulkar, of course. She was a big fan indeed. His heart skipped a beat when she discussed the entire match in Sharjah, sharing the minutest details and claiming how well he remembered the match. Her cheeks embellished with a hue of pink when she mentioned her childhood crush on Sachin and how she wrote him handwritten letters for a proposal. She even mentioned how they won a prize from Hindustan Times for sending a message on his birthday in their "Dil se Message" column. She was indeed very talkative and too innocent, Viaan observed. Viaan, on the other hand, was an introvert, and it took a lot from his friends to involve him in any conversation. It was new for him that he was participating in the conversation and enjoying it. They were talking like old friends, and Viaan didn't want his journey to end. He was praying to whatever gods to give them enough traffic to last this conversation. She was addictive, and he was getting drawn to her. His eyes were fixated on the road; otherwise, he would have stared at her pink lips the entire day without getting bored. It was 8 pm when they were about to reach Janakpuri, and their journey was about to end. He was taking the U-turn when her stomach growled.

"Ahh, she was simply embarrassed, and a mischievous smile highlighted on his face. To push his luck any further, he asked her whether she would like to have something at Janakpuri district center. Riya glanced at her watch; it was already 8 pm. Her father would get worried if she got late; however, she herself didn't want to leave his company so early. It was like she had tasted the poison and was happy to die.

She called her home, informing she would be reaching around 9 pm so her father does not get worried. After she got the confirmation, she nodded her head in approval. Both two souls were getting intertwined at mere connection. Both were feeling butterflies in their stomachs; the excitement to spend more time had created a permanent blush on both of their cheeks. They craved for more and more like their souls were getting drenched in the rain of love.

As he parked his car, he inquired about her preference for food. And her answer left him dazzled. She wanted to eat Golgappe. She was quite open about her preference, and Viaan got to know that Golgappe was her life. She could not live without eating it, and she needed it almost every couple of days to recharge her mood. As they approached the Golgappe stall, her face delighted with sparkling energy. The smile on her face represented the waves in the night. She was calm, and there was something peaceful which made Viaan more and more curious about her. She looked satisfied."

As the vendor passed a golgappe to her, she almost snatched it. A smile crept on Viaan lips eyeing her cute antics. A moan erupted from her and she was completely unaware what a mere moan did to him. He eyed her who was busy relishing the taste of her favorite delicacy leaving him in jeopardy. His groin responded to her moan coming in action and it took whole of his self-control to not kiss her at that time. He imagined her taste on his lips and how well their breaths mixing with each other. Viaan was even surprised at himself to have these kinds of thoughts at a mere moan. It was first time a woman has affected him that much.

"Viaan yearned for more of her. After dropping her at Janakpuri, he kept turning to the rear mirror in hopes she would turn back just once. He felt restless at the mere thought of her leaving him. The feeling of loneliness crept into his heart more when he lay down on his bed at night. The day had come to an end; however, the butterflies were still alive. Her memories hit him like flashbacks, leaving him craving for more. She had awakened those hidden desires which he had never experienced before.

Riya, on the other hand, was tossing in her bed. She was equally restless and couldn't connect to the fact that a mere smile from this man had churned butterflies in her stomach. His mere thought made her cheeks go red. She felt an instant connection with him. The intensity with which his eyes were drawn to her was something she hadn't felt with any other male. He was the most beautiful man she had seen.

With the song 'Ek Duje Ke Vaste' playing in the background, Riya felt the urge to sing alongside the beautiful song. The lyrics to the song matched the intensity she was feeling now. She murmured the lyrics, 'Kitne Door Door hoon Un dono ke Raste Mil Jate Hai jo Bane Ek duje ke Vaste' [No matter how far, the paths for both of them are, they connect, who are made for each other].

As the lyrics played, two souls were lost in each other's thoughts. On one hand, these souls found solace in each other in the most unexpected moments, and on the other hand, the Universe entwined their fate together. These two souls were bound to meet, bound to fall in love. Whether it was fate or karma, they belonged with each other.

They say soulmates are real, and it was that moment when Viaan met Riya for the first time, their twin flame connected with each other. Love is an emotion that can conquer the entire world. It can melt the hearts of the rock and can bring tears to the eyes of the lord. That day even the heavenly lord cried at the reunion of those two. The master of destiny had woven this love story, and these two souls were unaware of what they were about to experience in this lifetime. That day, each got a glimpse of their past, but what destiny holds for them was still unexplored. It was their journey which they had to write for themselves."
