Ch. 21 - Cat's Out of the Bag

**Hi guys! Quick note, we're having issues with wifi at my house and so I can't access the internet at all. I'm currently using my hotspot on my phone for wifi, but I don't have unlimited so I'm just posting this really quick. There will be a double update today, but I'm trying to figure out the wifi situation first. Please be patient, I'll keep you all updated!**

Roxie's POV

Waking up Sunday morning, I felt good. Really good. I was refreshed and well-rested, something I haven't been in a while.

I was, however, absolutely famished.

I checked the time on my phone and saw my usual voicemail notification. I lifted the phone to my ear and pressed play, closing my eyes as Jedrek's words flew over me. He spoke about the day he had ahead and what he wanted to accomplish. He then did his usual routine of hoping I have a good day before ending the message as he always does.

I love you, Roxie girl. Be good.

When I was done listening, I peeked over my shoulder and saw Ivy still fast asleep, mouth slightly agape as a small dribble of drool slid down her chin. I snorted before grabbing a pillow and smacking her with it. Her eyes squeezed together as her mouth finally closed and she smacked her lips a few times - rewetting her lips and tongue I assumed.

"What?" she groaned.

"Get up. Let's make some breakfast."

"What time is it?" she grunted, burying her face in the blankets to try and hide her eyes from the sun spilling into the room through the cracks in the curtains.

"It's nine-thirty, now let's go. We don't want to sleep our whole day away," I insisted.

"I beg to differ," she replied before slowly pulling herself up and out of the bed. "You and Khloe need to learn how to sleep in. I mean, seriously. Who wakes up at nine-thirty on a weekend?" she asked rhetorically.

"Lots of people," I giggled as we sauntered into Milo's kitchen. I opened his fridge doors and surveyed the food inside, striking breakfast gold. I pulled out eggs, cheese, some peppers I found in a veggie drawer, and the cartons of fresh fruit from the top shelf.

"You wanna cut the fruit while I start the omelets?" I asked to which Ivy nodded. We got to work, exchanging chit chat here and there.

"So, how do you think last night went between Khloe and Xander?" Ivy suddenly asked, raising a single brow before going back to slicing strawberries.

"I was just going to ask you the same thing," I replied with a devious smile. "I think we should Facetime her and see what she's doing right now. You know she's gotta be awake," I commented. Ivy's smile grew wider as she dashed into the guest bedroom and came prancing back with her phone in hand, the signature ringing tone already echoing throughout the surrounding space.

"She's not answering..." Ivy remarked seconds before the ringing stopped.

"Hello?" Khloe called out, her voice groggy and sleep-filled.

"She's still in bed!" Ivy whisper-shouted while pulling the phone away from her mouth. I dropped my spatula onto the counter and ran over to where Ivy was standing to get a look for myself.

"Oh my God, that's a body behind her!" I hissed, pointing towards the sheet-covered lump that was peeking out from behind Khloe's own blanket-clad body.

"Hellooo?" came Khloe's impatient voice.

"Hi, sunshine! What're you still doing in bed?" Ivy asked in an overly chipper voice.

"Just felt like having a lazy Sunday..." she replied, not meeting our eyes through the phone. Suddenly, a ruffling sound came from the other end as the body behind Khloe turned and threw a hand around her waist before pulling her closer.

"That was so cute I think I'm going to cry," I said as Khloe's face flushed bright red.

"Me too. We're so happy for you Khlo! Was his dick game good?" she asked.

"Ivy!" Khloe hissed, her cheeks burning brighter, something I hadn't thought possible.

"She's still in bed, isn't she?" Came a deep voice, catching all three of us off guard. Ivy and I burst out laughing as a smug smirk pulled at Xander's mouth - which was the only thing we could see of his face as he was taller than Khloe and therefore cut out of the call frame.

"Okay, well we're gonna go and let you two have fun, but Xander?" I spoke, catching his attention.

"Yes?"

"Khloe always talks about how she's never had lazy morning-after sex and really wants to try it. Do with that information what you will," I called out slyly before quickly ending the call.

"She looked thoroughly fucked," Ivy laughed. I joined in, nodding my head vehemently. "By the way, I think your omelet might be burning as we speak," she laughed while pointing to the smoking pan on the stove. I yelled a few expletives before snatching the pan up and pulling it off the heat. I flipped the food, finding it only heavily browned but just seconds away from burning.

"We're all good. Nothing a little extra cheese on top can't fix," I joked before finishing cooking the rest.

"Why don't you go wake Milo up? Everything is almost done."

**

After breakfast was eaten and cleaned up, Milo practically forced us out of his apartment. I had a feeling it had to do with talking to a certain someone. I just hoped that by the time I got back home, Khloe and Xander were close to done. I didn't want to interrupt them when things seemed to be going so well.

"I'll meet you at your place in a little bit. I just have to grab a few things for work tonight." Ivy said offhandedly.

"I thought you had the night off?" I asked as we made our way to our cars.

"I did, but Havana needed to fly home. Her dad's cancer is spreading faster than the chemo can kill it. Her mom asked her to come and see him," she murmured sadly. My heart squeezed in my chest, knowing exactly what she was going through.

I waved goodbye to Ivy while slipping into my car. I pulled out my phone and sent Havana a text, letting her know that if she needed to talk at all, I was there for her. Starting my car, my mind wandered to what my mother would say if I told her I was pregnant. Would she be happy? She always wanted to be a grandma. Would she be disappointed in me for how the child was created?

She would know exactly what to say. She always did. I fondled the pendant that hung around my neck as a single tear slid down the side of my face. Pulling into our apartment's parking garage, I quickly pulled myself together before making my way to Khloe and I's unit.

I slowly and quietly pushed the door open, making as little noise as I possibly could as I entered the living room. Because of the open floor plan, I could see Khloe and Xander making breakfast together plain as day. I hadn't seen Khloe smile this big since I'd known her.

Point to Xander.

"Hey guys," I called out, catching Khloe off guard and causing her to slightly jump.

"Hey!" she called back with a huge smile. "How'd your slumber party go last night?" she asked with a laugh.

That moment was when I realized she didn't know about the baby yet. I mirrored her own smile, deciding it could wait until Xander was gone for the day, I wasn't going to tarnish this beautiful moment by making it about myself.

"Very eventful," I joked, though it was the truth. Khloe giggled before shoving a plate of pancakes towards me.

"We made too many, dig in!" she insisted while handing over a fork. I was just about to say I'd already eaten when the smell of the hotcakes wafted up to my nose. Fuck, these smell like heaven. I cut out a bite and lifted it to my lips, moaning as the taste registered in my brain.

"Did you make these with seltzer water?" I asked right before shoving a second bite in my mouth.

"Yes, how did you know?" Xander asked in amazement.

"They're super light and fluffy. That's what I use when I make my own, too," I replied, cutting off another big bite.

"Roxie is an amazing cook. Seriously, she's the best. She's actually going to school for it soon!" Khloe said with a proud smile. The conversation continued as Xander asked me about where all I'd been cooking wise and what area I wanted to pursue. I'd just finished my plate when I heard the front door open.

"Okay, so I know you're going to bed mad at me for spending my own money on these, Rox, but they were a necessity," Ivy called out while making her way to the kitchen counter. She slapped down a stack of books, the top one reading What to Expect When You're Expecting.

Fuck.

Khloe's eyes went wide with shock before her gaze turned to me. I could see the question in her eyes.

"You're...?" she gasped out.

"I was gonna tell you after loverboy here left because I know you're going to have a million questions. But, uh, yeah. Surprise!" I said half-heartedly. Khloe just stood there with her jaw dropped, blinking rapidly.

"Is it Jonathan's?" Xander asked with a look of horror on his face. Ivy and I burst out laughing, Khloe joining in a few seconds later until we were all laughing so hard we were crying.

"That's not how conception works, honey," Khloe managed to choke out between bouts of laughter.

"And even if it was, I wouldn't have let that douche bag come within ten feet of me after how that horrific dinner went." Xander's facial expression changed to one of relief before he laughed along with us.

"I promise I'm not actually that dumb," he joked. "I should, however, get going. You ladies seem to have a lot to talk about and I've got to head to the office for a few hours and get some things done before my meeting tomorrow morning."

"I'll walk you out," Khloe murmured, following behind him as he made his way to the door. Ivy and I tried to pretend like we were giving them privacy all the while watching them like a hawk from our periphery. After he'd slipped his shoes on, he hooked his arm around her and pulled her to him, kissing her soundly before whispering something in her ear. Ivy and I squealed under our breath as Khloe blushed and smacked his chest playfully.

"I wish I had supersonic hearing," Ivy whispered to me, causing me to snort and draw the happy couple's attention. Ivy and I quickly looked away and tried to be inconspicuous until we heard the door click shut. Once we heard that sound, all bets were off. We jumped off of our barstools and ran towards Khloe, enveloping her in a tight hug as we screamed happily.

"Tell us everything!" I yelled excitedly.

"Not before you tell me first! Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant, you bitch!" Khloe yelled while playfully glaring at me.

"I just found out last night. I was supposed to get my period like three days ago and I didn't. It comes at the exact same time every month and when I realized I was late Milo had me take a test. Bada bing bada boom, baby in the oven," I summarized.

"You seem...okay?" Khloe commented, looking slightly perplexed.

"Oh, there were definitely tears at first. I actually passed out when I first found out. There's some...other stuff I need to tell you too, but we're all in a good mood and I want to hear about your night before I get into it."

She smiled and laughed before shaking her head slightly. "Alright, let's sit. There's a lot to get through."
