And if you're in the market for a cover...

It's funny how things end up working out sometimes. Just over a weekend ago, I happened to be thinking of the next Block Party, and what it would be like to be a part of it. Later that same day, I ended up finding out that I had been chosen as one of the featured authors!

A bit before that, I was reading an excellent book full of Wattpad tips and advice and - - as per the recommendations in the book - - I decided to try and get involved a bit in the Wattpad forums. (As part of this, I decided to post my book in the promo section. (Here's a link to the tip book, which is by @clarady. Definitely a must-read, especially for people who are new to Wattpad, but even people who have been here longer can benefit. http://w.tt/1RXfrEd)

I wanted to make sure that I included my book's cover, along with the blurb, but I wasn't sure how to upload it, other than by finding the image again on the web, then embedding it. I was honestly worried that I might not be able to locate it again, but part of me also thought that maybe it would be a good thing to find a new one. After all, while I do like my current cover and I feel it suits my story well, it is blurry, and I'm sure I could do better.

In the end, I was able to find it again pretty easily, and posted it as I'd planned. However, the thought came up again after I found out about the Block Party opportunity. I again started wondering if maybe I should change it, perhaps even have a cover made, especially since this is a really special opportunity, and I want to make the most of it. As part of that, I'm hoping to make the best impression possible. Even though writing is of course the key thing, a gorgeous cover also has a way of drawing people in and making them take notice.

Well, lo and behold - - one of my fellow participants, @SparKling_DsWe was kind enough to not only add my story to her reading list, but also offer to make a cover for "Shattered"! I'm immensely excited to see her work once it's finished.

In thanks to her, I'm asking you guys to take a look at her story, "Magic Dust Cafe." (And of course, I'll be checking it out, as well! I plan on updating this post once I'm more familiar with the book.)

I'd also recommend checking out her Cover Shop book. It's basically a portfolio of her work - - various covers that she's done before. It also contains the blurb for each of those stories. I already have several that have peaked my interest.

So...whatcha waitin' for?! (Movie line, couldn't resist!)
