YEAR 2018

Multiple thoughts were running through your mind faster than ever before. You were originally going to listen to these group of men for a short amount of time before escaping when you saw a chance.

But that plan was quickly thrown out the window as you reunited with your older brother Hoseok. His presence was something that you've never would have expected, and it was making your original plans run down the drain.

There was no way you were going to leave him after all these years. He was the only family left for you; you weren't brave or stupid enough to throw that away. Oh no, there was no way you were going to let anything get him, as long as you were here....

"Twinkle.... If you're alive....?" Hoseok slowly began, still clutching to you tightly. You can see the slight form of hopefulness enter his eyes, making your heart clench.

You slowly shake your head, swallowing down the lump down. Even without him finishing his question, you knew exactly what he was asking.

"No... I'm the only one... Unnie... She didn't make it, neither did Appa and Eomma..." Your voice broke once after mentioning your sister. If you closed your eyes, you could see the vivid image of what had happened to your beautiful older sister. Her beauty had become cold and devastating when the virus took over her body.

Hoseok's expression hardens, stiffly nodding and closing his eyes. However, when he reopened them, he gazed at you with kindness, his lips tugging up into a grin. "Let me get a better good look at you, Twinkle. It's been too long, let me see the cute face of my baby sister," the older man cooed as he cupped your face with his hand.

Your lips trembled, the familiar words Hoseok spoke making you emotional. There was no way you could be cute. Not when more than the quarter of your face was covered in pink scars.

While you were thinking about the disappointment you will cause your older brother; you were starting to realize you will have to tell him the secrets of yourself that you had promised never to speak to another human being as long as you were alive.

You snapped out of your thought as you felt your older brother brush the scarred tissue around the left side of your eye. The skin was bumpy and pale, looking as if it was an injury that healed years ago. Your stomach clenched at the memory of how you obtain the permanent scar, feeling sick how you thought about your screams of pains and agony.

What you didn't expect was for your brother to lean forward, gently pressing his lips to the scarred eyelid. He was quick to pull away, his lips stretching into a full-blown smile as he hugged you even closer. "Just as cute as I remember, maybe you've got even prettier," he commented, nuzzling your mane of hair.

You can feel the heat starting to crawl up your neck, feeling embarrassed at your brother's action. However, you don't pull away, enjoying the warmth of another human being, something that has been absent for too long in your life.

An awkward cough that sounded from behind the two of the Jung siblings made them realize they weren't alone in the room. You stiffened considerably while Hoseok's shoulder slumped, turning to face his hyung without letting you go.

"Hoseok..." Seokjin began, his eyes staying on your form that was cradled in his friend's arms. Seojin swallowed once before hardening his eye, taking a step forward. Seeing the older man's cautious look, Hoseok felt his stomach drop, pulling his little sister closer to his body, moving away from Seokjin.

Seokjin didn't have to say anything, Hoseok instantly reading the older man's body movement. Seokjin was obviously cautious of you, tiptoeing around you as if you were going pounce on him like a starved leopard.

Hoseok licked his lips as he shook his head, "Hyung. She harmless, she's not gonna hurt any of us here..." The man began, his eyes narrowing as he created distance with the man in the white coat, his arms still wrapped around your smaller form.

"Hobi, we don't know for sure... First of all, she's a female. She should have died out like the rest of the female population. And her left eye... It's... We need to talk to everyone and deci-" Seokjin couldn't finish his sentence as Hoseok snarled.

Hoseok couldn't believe the words he was hearing from the man he considered his older brother, an irreplaceable family member. It angered Hoseok even more since he knew how Seokjin was aware of how much he treasured people he believed that were his family members. He was known by their whole group to be the person that who would be willing to go to hell and come back to save one of them.

It would be evident that he would do exactly that for his baby sister, his own blood. But Seokjin had the nerve to imply that Y/N was a danger to all of them and she may be disposed of like any other threat.

No, there was no way Hoseok was going accept that decision when he found out you were alive after all these years. All these years, he had regretted that he never went out to look for you and it haunted him in his dreams at night; your sunken cheeks and weak body. The hopeless smile you flashed him as he was escorted out of your room where he got to have one last glance at you. It constantly loomed over him like a film that was never-ending.

"If you all fucking decide to make her leave, you can as well say bye to me too. Sworn brothers or not, I'm leaving if she is. I'm going where Y/N is going, there's no other fucking choice," Hoseok spat angrily, already seeing how the conversation was moving.

You flinched, not expecting Hobi, your sweet older brother who've only showered you with love through your childhood to yell, his words filling with anger. You looked up to peer at Hobi's face, seeing his eyes dance with burning anger and malice as he faced Seokjin who seemed nervous under his friend's burning gaze.

The said doctor swallowed, realizing what he had feared was happening. He knew Hobi would choose you without hesitation. Like he had thought, blood was placed before everything for Hobi, even if it meant leaving his brothers behind.

"Look," Seokjin began, carefully picking his words as he observed Hoseok, not knowing how the man may react. "I, myself don't want to kick her out or... You know Namjoon, if he deems her dangerous, he'll do what he usually does... But if we can make sure that Y/N isn't a threat to any of us, I can give Namjoon the clear... And everything will be perfectly fine..."

You can feel your heart pounding against your ribcage, the blood rushing through your veins, roaring loudly in your ears. You knew what Seokjin was implying. You had to prove you were not a danger to any of them or you were going to get disposed of.

And you can clearly see it happening in your mind; your thin neck easily being snapped by someone as strong as Jungkook. The said male had proven his strength when he tossed you over his shoulder with ease when he carried you into the base. And you knew, the dark-haired man wouldn't even hesitate or blink an eye when he did kill you.

The tremble shook your whole body as the scene of your own death played in your mind like a broken recorder.

You didn't want to die, not after you had survived this long on your own. Not when you finally found Hoseok, the only light in your sad life.

But you needed them, these group of men to trust you and place you under their wings.... And the best and easiest way to do that... Was to talk. Talk about what had happened to you. But your memory was something you had promised to yourself to lock away, something to bring with you when you were six feet under.

A small part of your brain was telling you to act innocent, denying whatever the doctor before you were saying and say you were a harmless human being. To keep your secret hidden as you had originally planned. But could you lie to your brother...?

You looked up, peering into Hoseok's face. You can see the conflict hidden under the anger of his brown eyes, immediately letting you know your brother had developed deep connections with the group of men who were in this building. Could you really ask your brother to leave with you when he had friends here at this base? Were you selfish enough to make your brother fight these men to keep you alive?

"Hyung, please..." Hoseok began, his eyes darting to your face for a few seconds before looking up at Seokjin, who nervously tugged on his white coat.

"You know I can't lie to Joonie, especially when I could be risking every single of our lives," Seokjin's eyes moved to your form, narrowing distrustfully.

Your eyes that had subconsciously closed a few seconds ago opened in determination as you took a deep breath. You were going to take a risk, although there could be a possibility you were gonna regret this later on, in the current situation, it seemed like the best choice.

"I want to talk to your leader. I rather only explain once, and it'll be best if he's here as well," you calmly speak, your eyes directly meeting Jin's gaze.

Seokjin held back the shudder when your heterochromatic eyes met his. While he held your gaze, he seemed to think over your words for a few seconds before nodding, stiffly getting up to his feet. He stops for a moment, having a staring contest with the silent Hoseok before exiting the room.

With his presence gone, you closed your eyes, slowly allowing your body to sink into Hoseok's warm embrace, mentally preparing for what was going to happen. But no matter what, the pounding of your heart didn't seem to slow.

It took every ounce of your courage to place your hand on the doorknob, turning the cold metal. However, Hoseok's presence beside you did help, especially since he was holding your hand, his touch warm and comforting.

When the door finally opened, your eye immediately met dark brown, almost black orbs that stared at you curiously. The big boss sat in a chair while he was surrounded by men on each side. They were the four the males that you quickly recognized as the men you had met in the main room when you were first brought in.

When Namjoon, the man who Hoseok quickly explained as the leader the groups, sent you a nod, you took a shaky step forward, keeping your one eye trained on him. Your mouth felt dry as if cotton balls were stuffed into them, every single drop of moisture getting stolen. Even when you swallowed, it did nothing, only making everything even more unbearable.

You didn't relax even as the man before you flashed an easy going smile. Especially since Jungkook and Yoongi were giving you distrusting death glares that could have killed you in an instant if they were blades. Blades that could have been rusty and old.

Namjoon himself looked like he was at ease, his chin rested on his hand that was entwined together. His curious gaze was directed at you, only shifting to your brother beside you for a second before returning to you.

"Why don't we start with introduction since we couldn't earlier?" Namjoon smoothly spoke, his lips pulled into a crooked smile that showed off his dimple.

Hoseok gave your hand a comforting squeeze, the tremble of your hand telling your brother how nervous you really were.

"Jung Y/N, younger sister of Jung Hoseok. Age 21," you began, your voice only wavering once in the beginning.

You can see the look of surprise appear in three of the males' faces, but Namjoon and Yoongi didn't seem to show any signs of shock, probably because Jin had informed them already.

Both your eyes briefly closed for a second before fluttering open, this time the left eye that was closed opening along with your right.

"And I don't know what I am."
