Summary: In a world abandoned by God, you survive as the sole female. You survived, but not without the cost. A cost that may not be worth it in this cruel and cold world filled with other survivors. Billions died, but you didn't, your heart pounding in your chest, blood circulating. You were still human, that's what you believed. That was what you kept telling yourself. Yet, at times you doubt even your own words. Were you human?

YEAR 2018

"What are you...?"

You swallowed, staring at the man before you with a blank look. His question made you freeze, not knowing how you were supposed to answer.

You were human... Were you not?

But why couldn't you immediately answer him? You were human.... But you were still alive although you were female.

But that doesn't change the fact that you were a full-fledged human, right?

"H-Human. I'm a human, like you and everyone else in this building," you finally answered, directly returning Seokjin's gaze that held so many different kinds of questions.

The doctor opened his mouth to say something to reply to your words. However, before he could, a form entered his office silently.

You were clueless to the fact that there was a new human being in the room because the door was behind you. However, Seokjin obviously saw his new guest, tilting his head to the side in confusion at the man's presence.

The new man obviously saw the doctor's questioning gaze, speaking up and finally announcing his presence to you.

"The other guys told me they found a girl. And I just had to come and see if what they were saying was true."

Hearing the voice, you jumped, subconsciously covering your chest that was only covered with a thin cloth that was a sad excuse for a bra.

Your eyes widened, your voice dying in your throat as you faced the man in front of you in defense. The man looked equally as surprised, his mouth dropping open while he took a shaky step forward.

He was a tall man with soft brown hair that messily covered his forehead. Looking at him made a feeling of nostalgia wash over you like large waves. If it was possible, your eyes widened even more, your bottom lip trembling as you realized why you were suddenly feeling like this.

The man finally stopped in front of you, falling to his knee. His eyes that used to hold so much hope as a child were filled with tears as he raised a trembling hand to your face, gently grazing your cheek.

"T-Twinkle....?"

Hearing the nickname escape his lips with a husky whisper made a sob slip from your lips, confirming who this man in front you was.

"H-Hoseok...!"

You fell into the man's embrace, your smaller form getting quickly tucked into the man's muscular chest, his arms wrapping around you in a tight embrace. You could feel his whole body shaking as he held onto you, cradling your smaller body into his, just like he used to do years ago when you were bedridden.

Seokjin was frozen at where he sat, his eyes staring at the Jung sibling in disbelief as well as awe. The two of you knew each other; the mysterious girl brought in by his dongsaeng and a man he considered his own brother, just like the other five in this building.

Hoseok blubbered incoherent words into your temple, his hands moving to pet your hair gently. His own tears leaked out of his eyes as he sniffled, not believing what was happening.

You, his younger sister was currently in his arms. He had given up hope of ever seeing you after the plague broke through. He had believed there was no way his older sister and little sister, who already had weak bodies from the start survived the virus that diminished more than half the world's population. They would have perished like everyone else.

He watched his female friends die one by one. He had witnessed through sobs as his own girlfriend gave him a teary smile with her sunken cheeks before she closed her eyes for the final time as a human being, her heart coming to a stop. And minutes later, he was horrified to see that her eyes reopened with blank, pale blue, lifeless eyes as she lung forward, trying to sink her teeth into his throat.

He had to be pulled back by Namjoon as Yoongi raised his gun, the bullet going through Wendy's head before she fell limp, finally entering her eternal slumber.

It was the very last time Hoseok had cried. The scene still haunted Hoseok to that day. However, it made him stronger, no longer showing any hint of hesitations when it came to Damphyrs and putting an end to them.

But having you in his arms made the strong, stone cold, unbreakable facade he had built up over the last two years crumble to the ground. He openly cried tears of both joy as well as horror as he realized how his baby sister had to survive and live in this cruel world.

When he had walked into the main room to see all of the boys, excluding Seokjin there, he was confused. At first, he had thought he was unaware or forgotten of a meeting because that was one of the only reasons why they all gathered in the main room like they were doing.

Hoseok had sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, eyeing Jungkook and Jimin as he realized they had returned, looking unscathed. Seeing that they were safe, he raised an eyebrow in question, not understanding why there was a meeting going on and why he was not aware of it.

However, when he saw the look of shock in all of their eyes as well as the seriousness, he couldn't help but feel the nervousness sink into the bottom of his stomach.

When Taehyung had muttered, "Jungkook and Jiminie found a girl and brought her back," Hoseok didn't believe the younger man's words.

At first he had brushed it off as a joke, shaking his head as he smiled at the younger man. But the smile disappeared from his face as Taehyung stared back at him with a blank look. After few moments, Hoseok's eyes darted to Namjoon in alarm, knowing that his leader and close friends wouldn't lie.

When Namjoon nodded in confirmation, Hoseok's mouth had dropped in awe before questioning where they had taken the female. By the end of everything, Hoseok decided to go to Seokjin's office to see with his own eyes.

It was already a miracle itself that they had found a surviving female since two years since the virus broke out. But when Hoseok laid his eyes on you, he felt his heart stop for a moment.

Familiar eyes that stared at him made his mouth dry up as if someone had stuck cotton balls in them. It felt as if his stomach was doing acrobatic flips, his knees suddenly feeling too weak to hold up his weight. His eyes were glued to your face, quickly seeing the vestige of your younger face when you were barely considered a teenager.

Back then, even when you were bedridden, skinny to the bones, you had always somehow retained the roundness of your cheeks. It was a characteristic Hoseok adored, and that was what he noticed when his eyes fell on you. However, it seemed like you had more color to them compared to the memory he had of you.

He doubted his eyes in the beginning. But the longer he stared, he saw the resemblance you had with his sister, his baby sister, Jung Y/N. His precious little Twinkle, the little girl who he had used to adore from the very bottom of his heart.

He couldn't help it as he stepped closer until he fell to his knees, his eyes leveling with your own. He felt his heart accelerate as he reached out to you, his hands trembling as he touched your cheeks, the warmth immediately spreading through his fingertips.

And when your childhood nickname he had for you tumbled out of his mouth and you responded with a cry of his name, he knew that it was indeed you.

Hoseok closed his eyes, savoring the warmth of your body against his as he rested his chin on your head. His hand ran soothing circles on your back as you clutched his shirt with your small hands, the fabric becoming wrinkled as your fingers gripped it.

For the past few years, he continued to curse God for abandoning the humankind. He curse him from the every inch of his body for taking everyone he loved away from him.

But at that moment he couldn't help but thank him for the miracle that was happening right now. It was already unbelievable that a female was alive, but that female being you was something almost imaginable.

Hoseok forced himself to pull away from you, his face slightly blotchy as he tried to get a better look at you.

"Y-Y/N, oh God. It is you, my baby sister," Hoseok cried as he cupped your face with his large hands.

You can immediately feel the callous on his hands. They were rough, but you couldn't help but lean into the warmth and notice their gentleness as they pressed against your skin.

You were in shock yourself. You had given up. You had no hope that you'll ever see your brother again since you had learned about the outbreak. You had assumed he had not made it like the millions who were killed.

You hadn't seen Hoseok in years. Eight years to be exact. The last time you were able to see your older brother was when you were fourteen, the day you were brought to a hospital that was isolated, away from any human population. Even your brother was no longer allowed to visit you, your guest being limited to your parents and doctors. Sometimes when the both of you were feeling well enough, your older sister Dawon, who was also in the same hospital kept you company.

You still remembered to this day the last time you saw your older brother. He had spent the whole day in your room, quietly placing you on his lap as he read every book you requested. You remembered how his eyes glistened with tears as he kissed your forehead, promising to see each other soon before being escorted out of the room.

You chuckled at the memory, the sound coming out in sniffles. Hoseok obviously heard, looking at you with his own teary eyes filled with question.

"Hobi-Oppa, you kept your promise. Although it took forever for us to see each other again, you kept your promise of seeing each other again. Now I expect you to keep the promise of having a picnic and going to see the ocean together. You better not take as long this time to fulfill this promise," you good-heartedly joked, laughing as the male fiercely nodded while he wiped his face with his hand.

As Hoseok began to calm down, he took a better look at you, frowning as he saw the scars that littered the left side of your face. He sucked in a quick breath as he felt his stomach drop in dread when he saw the pale, bluish purple, pupiless eye.

"Oh, Y/N... My poor, poor Y/N..." Hoseok whispered as his finger gently trailed over the scarred skin, a look of hurt appearing in his own eyes.

You flinched, suddenly remembering your defect. You subconsciously closer your eye, not wanting your older brother to look at it even more. However, Hoseok didn't care, sadly running his finger over your eyelid, looking as if it pained him.

"Twinkle.... My sweet Twinkle, what did this to you?" Hoseok didn't seem like he was asking you the question. It was more like he was talking to himself, his lips quivering.

You smiled sadly and raised your hand, gently wiping his cheeks that were wet because of his crying from moments ago. The man who was older than you didn't look like he was with the tip of nose red, his face swollen as he pouted, looking at your face as he continued to sniffle.

It seemed like even after all these years, Hoseok hadn't changed, still being the one out of the two of you who couldn't stop crying. When you were a kid, your older brother would cry although you were the one who was sick and stuck in bed. He was the one who shed tears in your place, claiming that since you never did for yourself, he will for you.

You loved that part of your older brother. The kindness in him. And the best part was that after a nice old sob session, he would flash you the most blinding smile that beat even the sun. It was why he was your Sunshine and you his Twinkle, the star that couldn't shine bright without the help of the sun.

Seokjin, who was watching the interaction between the two of you swallowed, his stomach sinking. If you were Hoseok's little sister, Hoseok would do everything to keep you safe. Seokjin was confident of this because he had heard the man talk about his lost family countless of times. Each of the men in the base has as well. And they knew how much Hoseok had treasures his family, especially his little sister who was alway sick.

So finding out that the girl that Jimin and Jungkook picked up was Hoseok's sister was not good news. It just made it one hundred times more complicated if they all deemed you too dangerous because now you had one man who'll do everything to keep you safe.

Even if that was to go against men who he considered brothers.

Because blood is stronger than anything else, right?
