Year 2018

"Fuck!" Jungkook was the one who cursed as he jumped back with a yelp, his eyes round with shock as he stared at your long hair.

You were frozen in place as you felt six eyes piercing into your form that sat in the middle of the room. You wanted to run, hideaway in the woods like how you've done for the last two years.

You had to get away. You couldn't stay here, you were—

"Impossible..." The man with the lollipop whispered in awe; the candy became long forgotten as it clattered to the floor when your hat was pulled off of your head.

You twitched, trying to get up to your feet when he took a step towards you. However, Namjoon saw your flinch and stopped advancing, giving you space. However, he continued to stare at you with his mouth unhinged, his eyes seeming to fill with wonder.

He, however, doesn't stay that way for long. The man, Namjoon awkwardly coughed, looking like he was trying to compose himself as he scratched the back of his neck. His eyes found your open eye, looking at you in fascinated question, "How are you alive?"

You couldn't help the scoff as you glared at him with your one eye, "Just like how you and everyone else in the room. Breathing, blood circulating in my veins, you know the basic necessity for a human to survive?" Your witty comment made the one with the boxy smile to chuckle. Namjoon also seemed amused by your response, not being able to stop the corner of his lips from turning up for a split second before he turned his attention to Jimin.

"You said you found her in Downtown?" He questioned the blond, crouching down to pick up his shattered and inedible lollipop.

The man questioned nodded in response, his eyes glued to your form, taking in your appearance, burning it into his mind. The last time he saw a female was more than a year and a half ago, he couldn't help himself but appreciate your feminine features.

"Is she really a she?" The black-haired man who stood beside Namjoon questioned as he narrowed his eye on your form in disbelief, "All for what we know, it could have unusually long hair."

You scowled as he called you a it. It almost felt like you weren't even considered a human being anymore.

Jimin couldn't help but roll his eye at the older man's suspicion. "Come on Hyung. You heard her talk. That can't be a voice that belongs to a man."

The blond's eyes moved to your face, his cheeks flushing a tint of pink. Although he had more evidence other than your voice that you were a girl, he wasn't going to let the other boys know how he had found out. And as long as Jungkook kept his mouth shut...

Namjoon quickly became serious as he observed you more carefully. You returned his look with your chin raised, not willing to back down from his intense gaze. You were scared shitless for your safety, but you weren't going to let these bastards think that they were getting anything from you without a fight. And weakness wasn't going to buy you your freedom.

"Jin-Hyung. I want you checking her. A physical exam," the man paused for a moment, his cheeks tinting to pale pink as he coughed awkwardly, "and uh, check if she's a she."

You cheek flushed at his statement, stiffening as the man in the white coat stepped forward. You gaze followed him as he walked towards you, stopping just a couple of feet away from where you sat. He sent you a gentle smile as he crouched down in front of you.

"Don't worry, I'm Dr. Kim Seokjin, please call me Jin. I was working as a doctor before all of this apocalypse craziness hit us. You don't have to worry about me hurting you," the man's words were soft as he gazed into your face.

He blinked once when he got a good look at you, the corner of his lips tugging down when he noticed your closed left eye and the little scars adorning the skin around it. However, he doesn't comment on it as he moved his eyes to the tied ropes around your legs and hands.

"You tied the rope too tight, you imbeciles! I can see the poor girl's skin rubbed raw!" The doctor scolds as he sends a stink eye at Jungkook and Jimin, the former looking away sheepishly while Jimin frowns as he leans over the doctor's shoulder to see the damage for himself.

You wince as Jin cuts the rope off of your hands first, eyeing the droplets of crimson liquid that seeps out of your skin. The skin is red and raw, the restraint leaving multiple thin scratches that burned.

Your legs aren't much better, your ankles lightly bleeding as well, the sudden feeling of blood returning to your toes creating very uncomfortable pins and needles.

You allowed Jin to help you up to your feet, swaying for a split second before you hold your own weight up without any help. You discreetly gaze at the door where you were carried through, feeling a longing.

You knew it would be a failure if you sprinted to it. There was seven of them and one of you, and you were fairly sure that most of them had some kind of weapon on them. You weren't willing to risk it right now. If you did, you were positive you'd go down with a bullet embedded somewhere in your body.

"Follow me, sweetheart, let's go get you cleaned up in my office and make sure you're healthy," the man gently takes your hand, pulling you behind him. You don't fight him, almost finding comfort as his warm hands wrapped around your smaller ones.

However, just as you leave the room, your eyes meet brown orbs that belong to the blond male who watched until you disappeared from his sight.

You awkwardly sit in a chair as Jin instructs you to take a deep breath, his stethoscope pressed against your chest as he listened in concentration.

"Alright, this is good as well. I want you stripping out of your clothes, keep your underwear on."

You choke on your saliva, your eyes widening as you stare at the doctor who was jotting down notes onto paper.

"Wha—What?"

Jin looked up with an eyebrow raised, almost looking as if he was amused by your reaction, "sweetheart, I'm a doctor. I've seen thousands of bodies in my life. I have no interest in yours even though it's one of the very last. I don't even plan on bringing a child into this hellish life anyways," the doctor's nonchalant words made you only a little bit more comfortable.

Jin didn't seem to notice as he went back to scribbling whatever he was onto his paper. Seeing his distraction, you hesitantly began to strip, deciding his words were trustworthy enough.

When your sweater and jeans were abandoned, leaving you in a pair of underwear you had taken from the house the previous day, you awkwardly waited for Jin.

When Jin finally looked up, he frowned, creases appearing on his forehead.

"You need to gain some weight. I can almost count every single of your ribs," the man noted with a grumble, his eyes moving to count the visible ribs before he went back to writing notes. You only responded with a roll of your eye. It wasn't your choice that you were that skinny. If there were food, you would eat it. It wasn't like it was your choice that you were starving yourself.

You sat patiently as the doctor began his evaluation on you, many of his action being familiar, you recognized them from the countless of times you went through them during your childhood.

"Alright, now let me disinfect those cuts on your wrist and ankle before they bleed even more. Let's se—" The man didn't finish his sentence as his eyes went wide, staring at your wrist in alarm. He was quick to grab the gauze, dipping it in alcohol before taking your forearm into his hand, wiping the cold material over your skin.

You uncomfortably watched him repeat the action a couple of times before he looked up at you, an unreadable expression on his face.

"Your scratches... They're gone..."

You yelped as he dropped to his knees, picking up one of your legs to see your ankle. A weird, choke-like sound escaped his lips as he realized there wasn't a single scratch on you, only the dried up blood left, peeling away from your smooth, pale skin.

There wasn't a single scratch left on your skin.

"I swear...." Jin choked as he rubbed his temple, sitting back down in his chair, looking slightly pale to the face.

You stayed silent in fear, not knowing what to do. You knew you healed fast. Ever since you were...

Jin slowly looked up, his eyes searching your blank eye. However, when he couldn't pick up anything from your expression, he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Look, sweetheart," the man began, a look of concern as well as sternness in his eyes as he looked into your face, "I'm a doctor, and I'll like to save everyone in need as much as possible, that's why I had this occupation. I've come to care about the boys in this building like my own family, and I'm ready to welcome you in as well, but you've got to be honest with me. You've got to tell me things to make me believe you're not a threat to us or I won't be able to tell Namjoon you're clear."

You kept your mouth closed, avoiding looking into the man's eyes as he stared you down, waiting for you to crack under his gaze. You were taking the risk, perhaps if this man deemed you dangerous, they'd let you go, and you would be on your merry way back into the woods.

"Namjoon won't let you go."

You freeze, your eye snapping to Jin as he gave you a grim look.

"He's a smart guy, love. If you're dangerous he won't just release you; he'll kill you so you won't be a concern to us in the future. He's fair and a good guy, but he won't hesitate to take drastic actions to keep us all safe. So talk to me, at least tell me your name," Jin watched you swallow, your one visible eye wavering as you listened to his words.

The man hoped you would listen to his words. In his eyes, he saw a terrified child waiting to be struck by an abusive parent, and he wanted to reach a hand out to you to save you. However, at the same time, he saw a dangerous rabid animal, the bomb ticking inside of it until it attacked those around it, reeking havoc.

He couldn't understand what you were. The doctor in him was telling him it was not physically possible for one to heal as quickly as you did. But at the same time, in the past two years, Jin has seen many things he had believed was not possible happen before his eyes. An apocalypse, billions of people getting killed through the world, the new, unknown virus attacking the female population, turning them into creatures never seen in the past. Corpses were coming back alive, hunting the surviving men as creatures never seen or even imagined to be real. Dhampyrs killing millions...

Jin knew anything was now possible in his messed up world. He had watched families and friends die from both the plague as well as Dhampyrs. And looking at you, a young female who was somehow alive when they had supposedly died out, he knew you were different. And something in him was warning him... warning him that you were not completely human.

"Y/N, my name is Y/N..." Jin's eyes brightened as he heard your name escape your lips, feeling his heart jump in delight as he got a response out of you. However, the man before you gasped, falling out of his chair in shocked fright as you looked at him. He had first assumed you didn't have the ability to look at him with both eyes. He was going ask you later in the exam what had happened to your eye, what had made you blind.

However, when you looked at him, no longer with just your left eye but both, Jin knew his assumption was wrong. The man swallowed, his mouth becoming dry as your milky pale, purple almost bluish gazed at him.

He was wrong; you weren't blind, he could tell as both of your eyes moved down to your hand as it nervously played around with your finger before looking back up at him.

And the question he had since he first placed his eye on you escaped his lip.

"What are you...?"
