CHAPTER THREE
"Might be a sinner and I might be a saint."

A inattentive Harper Winchester fiddled with her necklace as her head was leaned against the front door's surface while the impala drove down another lengthy road. Dean who was driving momentarily glances over at his young sister with his unseen concern for the brunette. "You okay?" The green eyed man questions, with an raised brow. Harper sits up in her seat as she turns to look over at her older brother, "Yeah..I'm fine" The female hunter replied nonchalantly. But the thing was..Harper wasn't fine at all. You see the young girl was keeping a secret from her brothers and it killed her everyday. She desperately wanted to tell them about the news of her engagement but Harper was afraid of what Sam's reaction was going to be especially when the young boy was still recovering from his girlfriend's traumatic death. And on the other hand..she was still lying to Nikolas about her true whereabouts and what she was actually doing than the supposed lie Harper had told the Blackwell. But deep down the young woman kept telling herself that it was for the best..and in order to protect everyone she cared for, Harper had to conceal the truth from everyone.

Dean scoffed, "I can't believe you still have that" The blonde Winchester points out.

Harper looks down at her sliver necklace with such content, "Why wouldn't I? It's the only thing I have of mom's" The brunette explained with a soft smile.

"Oh, I keep forgetting-" Suddenly a sleepy Sam abruptly sits back up in the backseat of the impala as he lets out a stunned gasp. This startles both Dean and Harper, causing the young girl to turn around as she watches Sam tiredly rub his forehead. "You okay?" Dean asks his younger brother from the drivers seat.

Sam shakes it off as he now changes his stunned demeanor, "Yeah I'm fine" The brown haired boy reassures his two older siblings.

Harper sits back in her seat as she let out a tired sigh, "Did you have another nightmare?" The brunette asked. The Youngest Winchester cleared out his throat as he glances out the backseat window, clearly avoiding his sister's question.

Dean meets Sam's gaze through the rear view mirror, "Want to drive for a while?" He offers.

Sam chuckles with amusement, now leaning towards the car's console. "In your whole life, you never once asked me that" The hazel eyed boy points out.

The Elder Winchester shrugs, "Just thought you might want to, never mind" He tells his brother. Harper rolled her eyes as she looked over at Dean. "So when can I get to drive the impala?" The green eyed girl questions with a charming smirk.

"When pigs fly" Dean retorts, with his signature cocky grin.

Sam sighs, "Look guys, I know you're worried about me. I get it and thank you but I'm perfectly okay" The young man reassured them.

Dean continues driving as he focuses on the wheel, "Mm-hmm" He murmurs.

Harper softly strokes a piece of her brown hair behind her ear as she purses her lips, "Whatever you say Sammy but I know you..we practically raised you, I know when something's wrong" Harper remarks with concern.

"Thanks Harper but I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me" Sam admitted. He then sighs heavily and reaches into the back seat's pocket. Sam pulls out a map as he opens it up, "All right. Where are we?" The brown haired boy asks, now clearing his throat.

"We are just outside of grand junction" Dean says.

Sam folds the map up in half and sees a red mark on a certain region with coordinates written on the top. "You know what? Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon" He says with unease.

The blonde Winchester shook his head, "Sam, we dug around there for a week, we came up with nothing." Dean glances over at his younger brother, "If you want to find the thing that killed Jessica.."

"Got to find dad first" Sam adds.

Harper swallows thickly, "After twenty years..and this thing shows up again, it's clearly not a  coincidence" The green eyed girl acknowledges. "Dad is gonna have the answers that we've been looking for, trust me."

The hazel eyed boy shook his head with utter reluctance, "It's just weird" Sam began. "These coordinates he left us, this black water ridge.."

Dean's brow furrows, "What about it?" He inquires.

"There's nothing there, it's just woods." Sam lowers the map away from his eyes as his expression started to flow with pure bewilderment. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?" The youngest winchester blurted with utter confusion.

The female winchester shrugged, "I don't know..it's dad, what do you expect?" She says bluntly as the impala continues roaring the long empty road and zooms past the Lost Creek Colorado welcome sign.

Once again it was another parentless night for the Winchester siblings as they all were sound asleep during the dead of night. A week before John had rented out a motel room for his three children while he left for another one of his usual hunting trips. Since there were only two beds, Harper took one and so did a young Sam while their older brother Dean slept on the beat up couch in the living room. The bedroom was very cramped but they were all used to it by now. A fourteen year old Harper Winchester lays quietly in her bed as she softly turns to her side, now getting a good glimpse of her younger brother who's apparently wide awake on the other side of the cramped bedroom.

"Harper?"

The female Winchester let out a sigh, "Yes Sam?" She says softly.

"Do you remember mom?" The young boy asks.

Harper turns to the other side of her bed as she was now facing the bedroom wall, "Go back to bed Sammy" The green eyed girl mutters.

Sam scoffed, "Why do you guys always avoid my questions?" The hazel eyed boy asks.

The young girl purses her lips with utter despair, "Because you shouldn't be asking them" Harper reasoned.

"It's not fair."

"Well too bad..life isn't fair" Harper deadpanned.

Much later the three Winchesters now linger around the park ranger's cabin as they examine one of the park's maps. "So black water ridge is pretty remote. It's cut off by these canons here" Sam says as he points down at the diorama. "Rough terrain, dense forest, Abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place." On the other side of the diorama table Harper sighs heavily, "Wow..anyone can get lost in that damn forest" The brunette muttered.

Dean's face scrunches up, "Dude, Check out the size of this friggin bear" The green eyed man blurted out as he stands in front of a photograph of a peculiarly large brown bear. Both Sam and Harper look up from the table as the two young siblings make their way towards the elder winchester.

Harper scoffs as she folded her arms, "Dean..there's probably like a dozen more grizzlies in the area..maybe you'll get lucky and it'll eat you" She snickers with her signature wicked smirk.

"Haha." Dean flicks his younger sister on the back of the head as Sam moves in-between the bickering pair. The brown haired winchester sighed as he momentarily rubbed his forehead, "It's no nature hike that's for sure" Sam grumbled.

"You folks aren't planning to go out near black water ridge, by any chance?"

The three siblings turn around as they're now met with the park ranger. Sam is quick to respond as he shakes his head, "Oh, no sir. We're environmental study majors from u.c boulder..just working on a paper" He explains to the older man.

Dean smirks, "Recycle, man" He chimes with a slight chuckle.

"Bull." Harper looks over at Sam and Dean then at the Ranger with utter confusion as he starts to gesture with his brown coffee mug. "You're friends with that Hailey girl, right?" Ranger Wilkinson questioned.

"Yes" Harper says with a quick nod. "Yes..we are Ranger..Wilkinson, she's one of our friends from school."

Ranger Wilkinson nods as he looks between the three Winchesters, "Well, I will tell you exactly what I told her. Her brother filled out a backcountry permit saying he wouldn't be back from black water until the 24th. So it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?" He shared with them all. Harper now looks back up at Dean who's expression has now changed drastically. "Tell that girl to quit worrying. I'm sure her brother's just fine" The ranger says with reassurance.

"We will" Dean added, as his two siblings turn to leave for the door. But The blonde haired man then turns back to the park ranger. "Well, that Hailey girl's quite a pistol, huh?" The green eyed man blurted out with a sly grin.

"That is putting it mildly" Ranger Wilkinson retorts.

Harper chuckles as she and Sam watch Dean step forward. "Actually you know what would help..is if I could show her a copy of that backcountry permit. You know, so she could see her brother's return date" The elder Winchester suggests.

The Ranger slowly nods, "Sure..I don't see why not."

Minutes later Harper follows Dean and Sam out of the cabin as they all walk back over towards the impala. Dean happily strides over to his car as he's now holding the backcountry report. The brunette scoffs as she looked over at her chuckling brother, "Dean..please don't tell me you're seriously gonna look for this girl" Harper said with a heavy sigh.

Dean stops while he looks over at his sister and brother, "What do you mean?" He asks.

Sam blurts, "The coordinates point to black water ridge. So what are we waiting for? Let's just go find dad" The hazel eyed boy points out, now walking over towards the back door of the black impala. "Why even talk to this girl?" The youngest Winchester retorted.

Dean shrugged, "Maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it" The green eyed man suggests. "But since when
are you all "Shoot first, ask questions later?" Dean asks Sam. He scoffs as he met his sister's gaze, "I'd expect that behavior from Harper" Dean blurts.

Sam slowly nods, "Since now." The hazel eyed boy opens up the back car door and slides into the impala, leaving his two older siblings utterly surprised.

Many Hours later after speaking with Hayley about her brother's disappearance, the three Winchester siblings are now at a busy bar
where the three of them all take their seats at a wooden table. Harper sits across from her two brothers as she watches Sam pull out some files from his leather brown satchel bag. "So, Black water ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic..local campers mostly" Sam explains. "But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found" Sam explains as he looks over his notes.

"Any before that?" Dean asks.

"Yeah." Sam pulled out a old newspaper, now showing it to his two older siblings. "In 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack and again in 1959 and again, before that in 1936." Harper grabs the newspaper from Dean's grasp as she examines the article for herself. The green eyed man glared at his younger sister, "You still never learned how to share, huh?" Dean said with a scoff.

Harper rolled her eyes as she turned to Sam, "We have the proof now that it's totally not a coincidence anymore" The green eyed girl pointed out.

Sam slowly nods, "Every twenty-three years, just like clockwork" The youngest Winchester chimed. The hazel eyed boy flipped open his laptop, "Check this out..I downloaded that guy Tommy's video to the laptop." With a few clicks of the keys, Sam starts showing his siblings the mysterious video frame by frame.

Harper peered intently at the laptop screen, "Do it again" The young woman deadpanned. With a few clicks the youngest winchester slows down the video frame by frame and to Harper's surprise, there's an dark figure right outside of Tommy's tent. "That's three frames, it's a fraction of a second" Sam explains to his sister. "Whatever that thing is..it can move."

Dean punches his younger brother on the shoulder, "I told you something weird was going on" The green eyed man snapped. The elder Winchester smirked, "Harper..I think I'll be needing that apology about right now" Dean chimed wickedly.

Harper sighs heavily, "Fuck off, Dean" The brunette muttered.

"I actually got one more thing." Harper eyes land back onto Sam as he pulls out another newspaper. "In '59 one camper survived the supposed grizzly attack. Just a kid--Barely crawled out of the woods alive" Sam tells them.

Dean hums, "Is there a name?" He asks.

Sam nods, "Yeah..I even got his address."

Harper rises from her seat, now looking down at her two brothers. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go talk to this old guy" The green eyed girl announced.

The elder Winchester turns to the hazel eyed boy, "I don't see why not" Dean said with a nonchalant shrug.

Harper and her brothers now stand by the elder man's apartment doorstep patiently awaiting for an answer. Dean scoffs as he looks over at Sam, "Do you even have the right address?" The blonde man questioned. Harper crosses her arms as she looked back at her older brother, "Of course Sam does..I mean look at the place." The brunette glances around the run down apartment building's hallway. "Any traumatized person would gladly want to live in place that smells like burned cigarettes" Harper sneered with her face scrunching up with disgust.

Suddenly the front door swings open and the three Winchesters are now met with a old man named Shaw. "Who the hell are you people?" The elder man blurted out with utter confusion, with an cigarette between his lips.

Harper lets out a fake smile now looking over at the old man, "Hello sir..We're park rangers from the Lost Creek Trail and we were wondering if you could answer some of our questions?" The brunette pondered.

Shaw raises a brow, "What kind of questions?" He asks.

"About the grizzly attack of '59" Sam blurted out.

The old man sighed heavily and gestured the young trio into his small apartment. The three siblings discreetly take a look around the slightly abandoned apartment meanwhile as Dean closes the door right behind them. Shaw shuffled his way back into his living room while the three siblings followed him, "Look, Rangers, I don't know why you want to ask me about that incident..but it's a public record, I was just a kid" He tells them. "My parents got mauled by a--"

"Grizzly? That's what attacked them?" Sam  interjected. Shaw pauses as he carefully takes his cigarette out of his mouth, slowly turning around towards the three young adults.

Dean blurted, "The other people that went missing that year..those bear attacks, too?" The green eyed man asks as he slowly steps forward.

The old man cowers down as he stays utterly silent, not wanting to remember all those horrific events. Harper purses her lips, "What about the other people that went missing this year?" The brunette questions the elder man.

"Same thing?"

The green eyed girl sighed as she continued, "If we knew what we were dealing with..we might be able to stop it..stop more people from dying" Harper pointed out with an hardened expression.

The old man looked back up, "I seriously doubt that" Shaw said with a reluctant tone. "Anyways, I don't see the difference it would make" Shaw deadpans as he slowly sits down in his sofa. "You wouldn't believe me, nobody ever did."

Sam now makes his way towards the old man, "Mr. Shaw...What did you see?" He inquires.

Mr. Shaw sighed deeply, "Nothing" He replied. "It moved too fast to see..it hid too well, I heard it though. A roar..like no man or animal I ever heard."

Harper swallowed thickly, "Did it come at night?" She asks softly. The old man slowly nodded as he met the young Winchester's concerned gaze. "Did it get inside your tent?" The brunette questioned.

Shaw shook his head, "It got inside our cabin"He deadpanned. "I was sleeping in front of the fireplace when it came in. It didn't smash a window or break a door--it unlocked it" The elder man revealed with pure terror. "Do you know of a bear that could do something like that?" Mr. Shaw asks the trio, now looking back up at them. "I didn't even wake up until I heard my parents screaming" Shaw recalled.

Sam's brow furrows, "It killed them?" The young man questioned.

"Dragged them off into the night." The old man slowly shook his head, "Why it left me alive..I've been asking myself that ever since" Shaw uttered out with an painful expression. Harper sighed as she slowly glances over at Dean who stood right besides her. "It did leave me this, though" Mr. Shaw tells the young trio as he pulls down his shirt, now revealing three large claws marks on his chest. Harper's eyes widened with shock as she looked over at the elder man and his painful scars.

"There's something evil in those woods..it was some sort of a demon."

Harper slowly nods as she recollects herself, "Well..thank you for your time Mr. Shaw" The green eyed woman blurted out. "I think it's time that me and my partners head out." The older man agrees and as the three winchesters start to make their way out of the man's apartment, he stops them.

"Whatever you do..don't go after it" Shaw warns.

Now much later the three siblings make their way down the apartment building's dark hallway as Both Sam and Harper listen to what their older brother had to say. "Spirits and demons don't have to unlock doors, they just go through the walls" Dean explained.

Sam shrugs, "So it's probably something else--something corporeal" The hazel eyed boy stated.

Harper giggles as she walks between her two brothers, "Corporeal? I didn't Know Stanford also taught fancy folk talk" The brunette exclaimed with a smirk.

The brown haired boy rolled his eyes with annoyance, "Shut up" Sam snapped. The young man turns to Dean, "So, what do you think?" He asks his elder brother.

The green eyed man sighed as he continues walking down the hallway, "The claws, the speed that it moves..it could be a skin walker, maybe a black dog" Dean pointed out. "Whatever we're talking about, we're talking about a creature and it's corporeal." The elder winchester stops at the exit's doorway as he now turns to face his younger siblings, "Which means we can kill it" Dean remarked. Harper and Sam both Watch as their older brother exits the apartment building and makes his way outside towards the parked impala.

Dean takes out his car keys from his pocket and unlocks the impala's trunk, now lifting the first layer up. He grabs a empty green duffel bag and starts to shove all kinds of weapons into it. Both Sam and Harper make it outside now moving besides Dean. "We cannot let that Hailey girl go out there" Sam fretted.

Dean continues on shoving different types of rifles and knives into the bag, "What are we gonna tell her..she can't go into the woods because of a big scary monster?" The green eyed man retorts.

Harper folded her arms, "Well..we have to come up with something else before she walks into that death trap" The brunette pointed out with utter concern.

Dean looked back up at his two siblings, "Her brother's missing, she's not just gonna sit this one out" He added sadly.

Harper let out a harsh breath, "Then what do you think we should do?" She questions.

"We'll go with her, We protect her and keep our eyes peeled for our fuzzy predator friend."

Sam steps in, "So finding dad's not enough?" The young boy asks, now slamming the trunk shut. "Now we got to babysit, too?" The hazel eyed boy snapped.

Harper looks over at Sam with displeasure, "Well at least it's something..we can't just let her die" The green eyed girl reasons. A now silent Dean stands across from his siblings with the duffel bag in his hand, just endlessly staring into his younger brother's gaze.

"What?" Sam sneered.

Dean shook his head, "Nothing" He replied, swiftly shoving the green duffel bag into Sam's arms.

Harper giggles and looks back over at Sam who has a pissed off expression. "Just chill out Sammy, everything will be fine" The Young Winchester assures the brown haired boy as she walked back over towards the passenger's side door.

The next morning it's awfully quiet throughout the forest and there's Hailey, her younger brother Ben, and her guide all standing besides his red pick-up truck right at the entrance of the forest. Roy suits up as he sighed heavily, "I'll tell you again. I don't think Ben should come" The guide advises the young woman. Hailey sighed as she steps closer to him, "Roy..." she says with reluctance.

"Look you're paying me good money to keep everybody safe, I think Ben's safest at home" Roy tells the blue eyed girl. Suddenly their heads turn at the sound of a car's loud engine and they're now met with the impala, driving up towards them. Hailey scoffs as her hands rested on her hips, watching the three winchesters slowly get off the black impala.

Dean smirks, "You guys got room for three more?" The green eyed man chimes.

Hailey's brow furrowed, "You want to come with us?" She asks.

"Who are these people?" Roy questions.

The dark haired woman turns back to the guide, "Apparently this is all the park service could muster up for search and rescue" Hailey retorted.

"Your rangers?" Roy asks.

"That's right" Harper says with a wicked smirk.

Hailey looks over at Dean's appearance with utter confusion. "And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?" The blue eyed girl sneered.

Dean glances down at his clothing before looking back over at the young woman. "Well, sweetheart, I don't do shorts" The green eyed man snorted as he and Harper walk past the woman.

"Oh, you think this is funny?" Roy snaps. "It's dangerous backcountry out there, her brother might be hurt" The guide pointed out.

Harper stops in her tracks and turns to look at the older man. "Believe us, I know how dangerous this can be..so just do us a favor and leave it to the professionals" The green eyed woman exclaimed. "The faster we get in there, the faster we'll find her brother" Harper reasoned as she and her brother walk ahead of the group.

Meanwhile later the group is now walking throughout the large forest as they all step over broken branches and twigs. Harper walks
walks right in between a young Ben and Sam as Dean who's right behind Roy tries to spark up conversation with the very much annoyed guide. "Roy, you said you did a little hunting?" The green eyed man recalls.

"Yeah, more than a little" Roy replied.

"Uh-huh." They all start to slow down as Roy looks around the area. "What kind of furry critters do you hunt?" Dean asks.

"Mostly buck. Sometimes bear."

Dean smiles softly as he follows the man from behind, "Tell me, uh, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?" The Winchester questions as he starts to walk in front of the man. But Roy suddenly fiercely yanks the green eyed man back as he holds onto Dean's collar.

From the back of the line, Harper looks over at the two men. "Everything alright, up there?" The green eyed girl asked. Roy grabs a long stick from the ground and pokes it at a metal contraption which rapidly snaps right back up...revealing to be a bear trap. Roy looks back up at Dean with a cocky smirk, "You should watch where you're stepping..Ranger" He jeered.

The group continued on walking on the trail but Harper, Dean, and Hailey all sorta linger back as Roy went ahead of them. The blue eyed girl walks up behind the two older siblings with a annoyed expression, "You didn't pack any provisions. You guys are carrying a duffel bag, you're not rangers, so who the hell are you?" Hailey hissed as she roughly grabbed onto Harper's sleeve. The green eyed girl turns back, now facing the dark haired girl. Harper looked over at Sam and Dean as she motioned her two brothers to go ahead along side a young Ben and Roy.

Harper exhales sharply as she met Hailey's gaze, "The truth is...Dean and Sam are my brothers, we came here because we're looking for our father. He might be here but we still don't know" The brunette explained sadly.

Hailey frowns as she looked back up at the young winchester, now utterly speechless. The green eyed girl shrugged, "I'm telling you this because I know what it feels like being the only girl and having to deal with two knuckleheads all the time" Harper emphasizes.

The blue eyed woman slowly nods. "Why didn't you guys just tell me from the start?" Hailey asks.

Harper gave the young woman a half-smile, "Well for starters my brother Dean didn't want our cover to be blown and second is..that he thinks your hot" The Winchester quipped with a sly smirk. "So are we okay?"

Hailey grinned, "Yeah, we're okay" The blue eyed woman said softly.

Moments later the group's pace starts to slow down as Roy leads them up towards there destination. "This is it..black water ridge"The guide announces as he looks behind him.

"What coordinates are we at?" Sam asks.

"35 and minus 111."

Harper and Dean walk over to their younger brother as the three of them all look around at their surroundings. "You hear that?" Dean asks, turning to Sam and Harper.

"Yeah." The hazel eyed boy sighed, "Not even cricketers" Sam whispers.

"I'm gonna go take a look around" Roy announced.

Harper looks back at the guide, "You shouldn't go off by yourself" The brunette says softly.

Roy chuckles, "That's sweet but don't worry about me, sweetheart." The guide brushes past the three Winchesters as he goes deeper into the terrain.

Dean sighed, "All right, everybody stays together" He tells the rest of the group. "Let's Go."

Eventually the group made it to Tommy's campsite and everything that was there was all destroyed. Harper's hand comes up to her face with utter horror as she looks around the tragedy. The tents were ripped to sheds and covered in blood, all the campers belongings were scattered all over the place in utter chaos. The look of distraught crosses Hailey's face as she walks around the horrific sight, "Tommy?" The blue eyed woman called out, now unclipping her backpack and throwing it onto the ground. "Tommy! Tommy!" The young woman shouts out frantically in search of any living sign of her elder brother.

"Shh! Shh!" Sam shushes as he runs over to Hailey.

"Why?" The dark haired woman asks.

"Something might still be out there" Sam explained.

"Sam! Harper!" Dean shouts from afar.

Just in a few seconds Harper and Sam make their way towards Dean as he's now crouched down on the forest ground, studying his surroundings. Harper also kneels down on the ground as she met her brother's gaze. "The bodies were dragged from the campsite but here the tracks just vanish" Dean explained as he pointed towards the creature's footprints.

"It's weird" The green eyed man says finally, now him and his siblings rising back up from the ground.

Harper raised a brow, "What the hell could it be then?" The brunette questioned.

"I'll tell you what." Dean looked over at his sister, "It's no skin-walker or black dog."

The three siblings now walk back over to the chaotic camp site and as they do this, There's Hailey who's now crouched down on the ground and holding her brother's broken cellphone which is covered in blood. The elder Winchester comes up behind her as he notices the frantic girl as she's now in tears, "Hey he could still be alive" The blonde man reassured the young woman, now crouched down. Hailey slowly turns to dean with an saddened look. But Suddenly there's a loud yell for help in the distance causing everyone to turn around with shock.

Harper glances over at Sam who's even more confused than she is. But then there it is again..another yell for help. Harper watches as Roy and Dean both cock their guns and less than a minute the whole entire group starts to run after the cry. Harper sprints throughout the forest as she's now jumping over broken logs and branches, and finally she reaches the middle where everyone takes a sudden stop.

Dean and Roy raise their weapons up in the air as everyone scans their surroundings. "It seemed. Like it was coming from around here, didn't it" Hailey asked breathlessly.

Harper's eyes dart around the forest with pure alternateness. "We need to go...back" The green eyed girl says catching her breath.

Harper sighed heavily as she sits besides her younger brother on a wooden log. It had been a while since the group had made it back to the campsite and to their surprise, all their provisions were gone as if they'd vanished into thin air. Hailey, Roy, and Ben were on the other side of the campsite by the fire meanwhile Sam and Harper sat far away from the bright glimmering flames. The green eyed girl rested her chin on her palm while she glanced over at the youngest winchester. "How are you holding up?" Harper asks Sam. The hazel eyed boy shrugged nonchalantly, "I'm fine" Sam muttered with a look of utter frustration.

Harper slowly nods, "How long do you think we have until that Wendigo eats us all?" The young girl jeered with an playful expression.

"Shut up" Sam grumbled with a low smile.

The sound of leaves crushing behind the two siblings starts to rise even more as the elder Winchester meets his two younger siblings at the farer end of the camp. "You want to tell me what's going on in that freaky head of yours..Sammy?" Dean questioned as he sits down at a wooden log.

"Dean..."

The green eyed man shakes his head, "No you're not fine" Dean snapped. "You're like a powder keg, man. It's not like you" The blonde man points out with a heavy sigh. "I'm supposed to be the belligerent one, remember? And Harper's the annoying one" Dean explained.

The brunette scoffed as she looked over at Dean with utter annoyance, "Your lucky that I'm not in the mood to kick your ass" Harper retorted.

Sam let out a heavy sigh as he kept his gaze straightforward, "Dad's not here" The brown haired boy added. "I mean, that much we know for sure, right? He would have left us a message, a sign, right?" Sam questions.

Harper slowly nods in agreement and then turns to look over at Dean who now speaks up. "Yeah, you're probably right but to tell you the truth, I don't think dad's ever been to lost creek" The elder Winchester shared.

Harper narrowed her eyes over at Dean, "Then if that's the case we should be getting these people back to town" The brunette suggested.

The hazel eyed young man nods with agreement, "Yeah..and then we'll hit the road to find dad" Sam explained nonchalantly. "I mean, why are we still even here?" Dean rises up from the wooden log and moves right in front of his siblings as he crouches down. The green eyed man pulled out a woven notebook from his leather jacket and hits it with his palm. "This is why...this book. This is dad's single most valuable possession. Everything he knows about every evil thing is in here and he's passed it on to us" Dean explains with a noble expression. "I think he wants us to pick up where he left off..you know, saving people, hunting things..the family business" He exclaims proudly.

Sam sighs as he momentarily covers his face with his hand, "That makes no sense" The young man reasons. "Why--Why doesn't he just call us? Why doesn't he tell us what he wants, tell us where he is? " Sam pointed out.

"I don't know." Dean swallows thickly, "But the way I see it, Dad's given us a job to do and I intend to do it" The green eyed man says softly.

Harper sighed as she met her brother's gaze, "Dean..come on you have to be realistic" The young woman said softly with a glimmer of utter sadness in her eyes.

"Harper.." Sam's face fell with a heavy expression, "I gotta find dad..I gotta find Jessica's killer" He says looking down with a frown. "It's the only thing I can think about" the broken boy shares.

The green eyed girl purses her lips, "Okay we'll find them but a case like that can take a while and with all that anger..is eventually gonna be your own demise" Harper expressed harshly.
The youngest winchester slowly nodded and the both of them turn to Dean who's crouched right in front of them. "You got to have patience, man" Dean chimed with an reassuring tone.

"How do you do it? How does dad do it?" Sam asks his elder brother.

The blonde man sighed, "Well for one, them" He deadpanned. Both Harper and Sam look behind them as they catch a glimpse of Hailey and Ben sitting by the camp fire. "I mean, I figure our family's so screwed to hell, maybe we can help some others. It makes things a little bit more bearable.." Dean tells his siblings as he pauses. "And I'll tell you what else helps..."

Sam slowly meets the green eyed man's gaze as His brother continued. "Killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly can" Dean expresses with a smirk.

"Help me!" Suddenly the three siblings rapidly get up from the ground as they rush back over to the middle of the campsite with the others. Dean pulls out his gun and cocks it as he scans his surroundings. Harper quickly pulls out her flashlight and flashes it around the dark area as the group forms a small huddled circle by the fire. The loud scream for help continues to fill their ears causing everyone of them to have fearful expressions. "It's trying to draw us, just stay cool..stay put" Dean advises them all.

"Inside the magic circle?" Roy retorts.

Harper scans her surrounds with the flashlight in her hand while she stands besides her younger brother.

Worry crosses Roy's face as he held up his rifle, "Okay..that's no grizzly" The guide acknowledged. Suddenly the mysterious creature makes another attempt which sounds even more closer than before causing Hailey to shriek with utter fear. The creature continues brushing through the bushes of the dark forest as Dean and Roy dart their weapons at every corner until finally Roy takes a shot. Then again and again until the guide finally hits the wounded creature. "I hit it!" Roy shouted as he jumps out of the circle and into the forest.

"Roy, No!" Dean shouts. The elder Winchester turns back to the others, "Don't move" The green eyed man ordered as he also ran off into the woods.

A breath held Harper grabs one of the pistols that was laying on the ground and swiftly cocks it. The young Winchester swallowed thickly while she stepped towards a frightening Hailey and Ben. "It's gonna be alright..just stay still and don't leave the circle" The brunette advises the two siblings, now moving them behind her with her pistol held up high.

It was now early morning and as the birds chirped in the distance, Harper winchester sat by one of the wooden logs by the now burnt out camp fire watching as her older brother examined a large claw mark on one of the tall trees. Harper discreetly fiddled with her engagement ring but she quickly hid it away when Dean looked over her way. "I don't...I mean, these types of things, they aren't supposed to be real" Hailey says with utter confusion. Harper scoffs as she looked back up at the blue eyed woman. "Well...you've been majorly misinformed" The green eyed girl retorted.

Dean walks away from the tree as he moves over to Hailey, now crouching in front of her. Hailey raises a brow, "How do we know it's not out there watching us?" She questions.

"We don't but we're safe for now" Dean reassured her.

Meanwhile as Hailey and Dean continued talking with one and other. Harper slowly makes her way over to a silent young Ben who sits with his knees pulled up to his face away from his older sister. The green eyed girl sighed heavily as she sat besides the young boy. Harper couldn't help but
sense a hint of deja vu when she observed the kid..she couldn't help but remind herself of a time where her younger brother was that wondrous age. "What happened back there..was pretty scary, wasn't it?" Harper pondered.

Ben slowly nods without saying a word to the young brunette. Harper fiddles with her sliver necklace as she glances over at the quiet child. "You know, we are going to end up finding your brother" Harper tells him.

Ben looks back up at Harper, "How do you know that?" The brown eyed boy muttered.

"Because you have me, Dean, and Sam" Harper chimed. "And if you didn't notice us Winchesters do a pretty damn good job when it comes to helping people" The green eyed woman exclaimed with a charming grin.

"Hey."

Harper Looked up as she's now met with her younger brother Sam. "So we've got half a chance in the daylight and I for one...want to kill this evil son of a bitch" The hazel eyed boy deadpanned.

Dean smirked, "Well, Hell, you know I'm in" The green eyed man added.

"Me too" Harper says, now rising up from the ground.

Sometime later the five of them look over at Sam Winchester as he holds his father's journal wide open. "Wendigo is a Cree Indian word. It means, "Evil that devours" The brown haired winchester explained. Dean walks around them as if he was almost pacing back and forth, "They're hundreds of years old, each one was once a man sometimes a Indian or other times a frontiersman or a miner or hunter" The blonde Winchester explained.

Hailey's brow furrows, "How's a man turn into one of those things?" The blue eyed girl asks.

"Well it's always the same" Harper blurted out with a shrug. "Usually during some terrible winter..a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies and help so it results in him becoming a cannibal to survive" The brunette tells them all nonchalantly. "He Starts eating others of his own  tribe or camp" Harper deadpans.

Ben sighed, "Like the donner party" He pointed out.

Sam nodded, "That's right." The brown haired Winchester glances between them, "Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities..speed, strength, immortality" The young man explained.

"If you eat enough of it, over years you become this less-than-human thing. You're always hungry."

The dark haired woman adds, "So if that's true, how can tommy still be alive?" Hailey inquired.

Dean shakes his head, "You're not gonna like it" The green eyed hunter revealed.

"Tell me."

Harper looked over at dean as his stern voice and gaze filled his features. "A Wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time and when it's awake it keeps it's victims alive" Dean shared. "It stores them so it can feed whenever it wants" The blonde man says finally.

The female winchester's expression hardened, "If your brother's alive, it's probably keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe" Harper tells Hailey and Ben. "So we got to track it back there" The brunette chimed.

"And how do we stop it?" Hailey asks.

"Well..guns are useless" Sam says.

Harper shrugs, "So are knives" she replied.

"Basically.." The group turns around as they're met with Dean who's now holding up a can of lighter fluid and a alcohol bottle. "We gotta torch the sucker."

Harper plopped down onto the beat up couch of the motel room her and her brothers were living in for the past month while their father was on a hunting trip. The young brunette sighed sadly as she looked over at Dean who paces back and forth between the kitchen and living room as he tried to get ahold of John winchester. "He's not picking up the phone, is he?" Harper asks, now turning to her older brother.

A young dean lowers down the white telephone onto his chest, "Nope..you know how he is" The green eyed boy muttered.

"What are we going to do?" Harper fretted. "Sam's temperature keeps on rising" The young girl added.

"Since dad's not picking up the phone.." Dean let out a heavy sigh, "I guess I could head into the nearest pharmacy and pick up some medicine" The blonde winchester suggested.

Harper scoffed, "With what money? We already spent the cash dad gave us for food" The green eyed girl pointed out with utter frustration. Suddenly from the other room..a young Sam's Loud coughs and groans fill the older children's ears. The youngest winchester had been sick for a couple of days now and it seemed to only get worse by the hour. Dean looks back to his sister with a frown, "Don't worry about the money..I'll find a way" He tells Harper. "In the mean time while I'm gone..will you make Sammy the last can of soup, it'll help him gain his strength back" The blonde boy expresses as he goes to grab his coat.

"Sure..just don't do anything stupid, Dean" Harper reminded her elder brother as she crosses her arms with concern.

"Of course not" The green eyed boy retorts with a smile as he's now out the door.

The group now ventured deeper into the woods as they all scanned their surroundings during the bright sunny day. Harper stands in between her two brothers and Sam quickly pulls his sister closer to their older brother as they all huddle together with secrecy. "You know, I was thinking that those claw prints, so clear and distinct.." The hazel eyed boy chuckles, "They were almost too easy to follow" Sam explained. Harper's eyes narrowed with suspicion but before she could say anything to Sam and Dean. Suddenly a loud growl is heard throughout the woods, Harper's eyes dart around the forest with alarm as she looks around.

The five of them move closer together but then instead of the loud growls it seems to change into loud dripping sounds. The female winchester bit her lip as her eyes slowly landed on Hailey's shoulder and the crimson red blood droplets that landed against her blue sweater. The blue eyed girl slowly looks over at her left shoulder with utter disgust and fear as she starts to look up. "Aaaah!" Hailey shrieked as a corpse suddenly falls from the trees, now knocking her down to the ground.

Harper rushes down to the fallen girl, "Are you okay?" The Winchester asks. The dark haired woman swallowed thickly and grabbed Harper's hand as the brunette lifted her back up on her feet.

Dean crouches down to look at the body and the look of realization that dawned onto the young man's face..The body belonged to Roy. Dean tries to feel for a pulse but there's no use, the guide was already dead. "His neck's broken" The elder Winchester exclaimed with shock. The growling grows even more louder this time as the group stands around the forest in a frantic manner. "Run! Run! Go, Go, Go!" Dean shouted out as he pushes the others to run for their lives.

Harper runs throughout the forest as she jumps over broken branches and logs, running as fast as she ever ran in her entire life. To the girl's surprise the rest of the group seemed to separate ways..dean running off to an opposite direction alongside Hailey and Sam into another as they all run from the bloodthirsty creature. The green eyed girl continued running but she comes to a rapid stop when see hears a young Ben trip over a branch.

The brunette runs back over to the young boy as she helps him back to his feet. "It's okay, I got you.." Harper reassures Ben while she pushes him in front of herself for a head start. The two continue to sprint throughout the forest but quickly come to another stop when they suddenly hear Hailey's high pitched scream. Ben starts to slow down as he makes his way down a steep, "Hailey!" The pale boy yelled out with utter worry.

Harper followed the young boy from behind as she notices the awfully quiet area. A breath held Harper looked down onto the forest floor as she spots the last item her elder brother was holding. "Dean! Sam!" The green eyed girl screamed out with heavy breaths. But it's no use there's no response from any of them..it's just her and Ben.

The young boy turns to Harper, "What do we do now?" Ben questions with worry.

Harper swallows thickly as she met the child's gaze, "We just need to keep on going..we'll find them" The young Winchester breathed out.

Minutes later Harper and Ben continue to walk deeper into the forest as they stand besides each other. It was just now them..since They had lost track of Sam, Dean, and Hailey. "If it keeps its victims alive, why would it kill Roy?" Ben asks The brunette. Harper sighs heavily as she looks over at the young boy, "Honestly...I have no idea but I'm thinking it was because Roy shot at it and really pissed it off" The green eyed girl explained.

Ben continues to walk ahead of the Winchester and then comes across something on the ground. Harper steps closer towards him and peers over
Ben's shoulder and sees that he's picked up two M&M's on the ground. "They went this way" Ben chimed, now looking back up at the young Winchester. Harper smirked as she looked down at the blue and orange M&M..quickly realizing those candies belonged to her elder brother.
Harper's eyes narrowed, "You know my brother can be a real idiot sometimes but times like these he can really surprise you" The green eyed girl says with a charming chuckle.

The two of them continue on moving throughout the forest following the faint trail of Dean's M&M's. As they do this Ben and Harper quickly stumble upon a wooden entrance that seemed to be connected to some sort of mine. A fearless Harper goes to take a step into the unknown entrance but the pale teen swiftly grabbed her hand with reluctance as he stopped her from going even more further. Ben swallows thickly, "Are you sure that it's safe to go in there" The buzzcut teen fretted.

Harper smiled softly as she looked upward at the red warning sign, "Besides the extremely toxic materials..I think we'll be fine" The brunette heckled as she walks right into the darkness, With an hesitate Ben following her from behind.

Harper uses her flashlight as she and Ben walk throughout the dark mine but as they're doing this. A loud growl fills their ears and without any hesitation Harper puts her hand right in front of Ben as she moves him to the side in an protective manner. The two are now leaned up against one of the stone walls as the deadly growls of the creature passes by. The Young Collins catches a faint glimpse of the Wendigo which utterly startles him causing Harper to put her hand over his mouth as she tries to conceal the young boy's whimpers from the deadly monster.

She starts to hear the Wendigo's loud footsteps finally get farther away from them and Harper slowly let's go of Ben as she signals him to follow her. They continue to venture through the dark mine with Harper's flashlight lighting their way throughout the darkness. But without there knowledge the platform of wood that they were walking over started to crack and
As Harper took another step forward. The floor suddenly breaks from underneath them causing the two to fall down into a very deep hole.

Harper lands roughly onto the hard dirt ground as she violently coughs out the dust from her lungs. The brunette grabs her throbbing head as she tries to regain consciousness from the hard fall.

Meanwhile Ben Collins slowly looks up and is surprisingly met with a pile of human skulls and bones. The young teen shrieks with utter fear as he staggered back towards Harper who quickly grabs the boy. "Hey, it's okay..I've got you" The green eyed woman reassured the frightened Collins.

Harper looks around her surroundings and hears loud creaking coming from above and the rubble of rocks falling. The Winchester's eyes widen with surprise as she spots familiar faces from afar. "Dean?" The brunette uttered out with pure relief. Harper quickly rises to her feet and rushes over to the three Hanging bodies up ahead.

"Dean..it's me, wake up" Harper exclaimed as she shakes her elder brother awake by his coats collar. The green eyed man grunts as he opens his eyes, now looking over at his younger sister. The brunette sighs, "Are you okay?" Harper questions as she sees all the dirt and grime that covered Dean's face.

"Ugh, Yeah" Dean uttered out as he regained consciousness. Harper steps back as she glances between her two brothers who were hanging up in the air. "I'm gonna get you guys down!" The brunette muttered. She pulls out a hunting knife  from her pocket and quickly unsheathes it. Harper slices Dean's rope and then Sam's, now releasing the two brothers who fall to the ground.

Harper breathes heavily and passes her knife over to Ben, "Here, start helping Hailey" She advises. Harper moves over to Dean's side and he puts his arm around his sister as she helps him up to his feet. "You sure you're all right?" Harper asks her elder brother, as she places him against the stone wall along sides Sam and Hailey.

Dean nodded, "Yeah, Yeah" He replied. "Where is it?" The elder Winchester asks.

Harper purses her lips, "It's gone for now but it's probably still near" The brunette explained. She looks over at Sam who has purple bruises and dirt all over his face. "How are you holding up, Sammy?" The green eyed woman questions her brother with a soft smile.

Sam coughs out, "Well, at least I'm not dead" The hazel eyed boy muttered with a shrug.

Meanwhile Hailey Collins's face froze as she looked up ahead. The blue eyed girl quickly rises to her feet as Ben helped her rush over to another body that was tied up. The dark haired woman started to cry as she got a good glimpse of her older brother Tommy who was quietly still as he could be. "Tommy?" Hailey Whispered as she started to touch his face. But suddenly the collins boy let out a gasp startling them all, as they staggered back.

"Cut him down" Hailey said, now looking back to the others. Harper rushes over to them as she hands Sam her hunting knife and the tallest Winchester cuts the young man down.

"Hailey..Ben" The elder Collins said with relief as he breathed heavily.

Hailey smiled as she softly touched her brother's cheek, "It's okay we're gonna get you home" The blue eyed girl promises.

"Check it out" Dean chimed from behind them.

Harper turns around and watches her older brother hold up two guns...that turned out to be flare guns from the camper's hiking backpacks.
Sam grinned with amazement, "Flare guns..those will work" The brown haired boy announced. Dean charmingly smiled at his two younger siblings as he twirled the two guns in his hands.

A while later The six of them now walk through the mine all huddled together as Dean, Sam, And Harper lead the way. Once again a loud growling echoes in the dark mine causing them all to stop as they all look around with worry. "Looks like someone's home for supper" Dean deadpans as his eyes dart around his surroundings.

"We'll never outrun it" Hailey fretted.

Harper turns to the frightened girl with a slight frown, "We will" The green eyed woman affirmed.

Dean glances between his two siblings, "You thinking what I'm thinking?" He asks.

"Yeah, I think so."

The elder Winchester sighed, "Alright listen to me..stay with Sam and Harper, they're gonna get you out of here" Dean tells them.

Hailey looks Dean up and down with utter confusion, "What are you gonna go?" She questioned. But the young man doesn't reply and he unhesitatingly darts forward towards the danger. "It's chow time, you freakin bastard!" Dean bellowed out with utter courage. Harper nervously bit her lip as she watched her brother from afar. "Yeah, that's right! Bring it on, baby!" Dean shouted. "I taste good!" He hollered now waving the rest of the group off as he runs off.

A while later Harper, Sam, and the collins siblings continue making their way down the dark mining path but come to another sudden stop when the Wendigo's deadly snarls linger near. The female winchester's gaze shimmers with great alarm, "Okay..we're gonna have to start running, it's gaining on us" Harper shouted out.

Without any reluctance they all start to run and Harper's able to catch a glimpse of the Wendigo as it's right behind them. They continue sprinting through the mine path as they dodge sharp corners and broken planks of wood but come to a sudden stop when a dead end appears right in front of them.

"Fuck!" Harper cursed out as she pushes the Collins family behind her.

Sam looked over at his sister, "Get behind me" The brown haired boy says with an protective tone.

Harper rolled her eyes, "No..you get behind me" The young winchester ordered harshly as she moves in front of her younger brother, the Wendigo's growls now starting to approach them.

"Harper..I'm taller."

"Well shit..I'm older" The green eyed woman says finally and pushes the youngest Winchester behind her with the others. Harper took in a sharp breath as she watched the creature slowly approach them with it's deadly snarls of evil ready to devour the five humans.

"Hey!"

The Wendigo turns around and spots Dean Winchester with a flare gun held up high as he rapidly shoots it right at the monster. A bright fire ball hurls into the wendigo's chest causing the creature to burst up into flames. Harper lowers her arms which she had used prior to shield the others from danger and now the young brunette watches as the wendigo shrivels up and dies a violently death.

Dean looks over at others who smile, "Not bad, huh?" He exclaimed.

Just hours later tons of police vehicles and ambulances surround the ranger station by the lost creek's trail. And There's Harper Winchester who's now seated on-top of the impala's black shiny hood as she has her cellphone up to her ear. "I know it's probably late right now but I just wanted to hear your voice..Nik" Harper expressed as she rubbed her weary forehead.

"Harper..is everything alright?" The Blackwell asks.

"Yeah..I'm just calling because I forgot about our morning phone call" Harper explained nonchalantly, trying to brush past the fact she was almost eaten alive by a wendigo.

Nikolas heavily sighed, "Yeah I was starting to get a little worried when you didn't call" The blue eyed boy chimed. "But it's sounds like your doing okay."  Harper softly chuckled as she bit her lip nervously..all she wanted was to be in Nikolas's arms again..his warm presence but the young woman knew that she wouldn't able to for who knows how long.

"Yeah I am..but my dad his condition is still worsening" The green eyed girl tells her fiancé untruthfully.

"Well..hopefully he'll get better soon" Nikolas said. "Can I ask you something?" The young Blackwell asked with reluctance.

"Sure, lay it on me."

Nikolas swallows thickly as he leaned against his kitchen wall. "Are you hesitant..or having second thoughts about saying yes to my proposal?" The dark haired man questioned from the other line.

Harper's brow furrows, "Nik, I love you and to be honest..your the first person from a long line of people who I actually said that too" The young brunette expressed with such reassurance. "I'm gonna marry you and we're gonna live the rest of our lives together."

The freckled young man smiled softly, "God..I wish you were here right now so I could kiss you..and more" Nikolas gushed.

The young Winchester smirks, "Well..it won't be that long until we're back to normal" Harper added. she looks in front of her as she sees her two brothers now walking towards her direction. "I'm gonna have to hang up now..it's getting pretty late" Harper said sadly.

"Alright then, I love you."

"I love you too" Harper says finally, now hanging up.

Dean snorted, "I love you too" The green eyed man mimicked as he and Sam made their way towards the impala's hood.

"Haha, real mature" Harper muttered out, now sliding her cellphone into her coat pocket. Both Sam and Dean stood on each side of their sister as the three siblings watched the Collins siblings head into the ambulance with their injured brother Tommy who laid tiredly on the gurney.

"Man, I hate camping" Dean chimed.

Sam nods, "Me too."

The blonde Winchester looked over at his younger brother, "Sam you know we're gonna find dad, right?" Dean deadpans.

"Yeah, I know."

Harper sighs obnoxiously as she pulls out her engagement ring from her pocket and slides it on her ring finger. Both Sam and Dean's eyes widen with utter shock and surprise as they watch their only sister raise her hand up now showing off her new engagement ring. "In the meantime..your only sister who you love and won't kill because she hid this from you...will be the one driving" Harper exclaimed with a sly smirk while she swiftly threw Dean's car keys in the air, catching them in her hand.

Dean raises a brow, "Fuck! How did you get those?" He asks.

The brunette starts to slowly move away from her brothers, "I'm a excellent thief" Harper chimed, now walking over to the driver's seat.
