Chapter Thirteen

Vera walked out of the company building while she was on her phone and smiling at the same time. She slowly strolled towards where Jonathan had packed his car but paused in her strides when she felt like someone was watching her. It made her look over her shoulder with furrowed dark eyebrows but shrugged it off later and continued her walk towards the car.
When she got to the car, she pressed the button on the car key, automatically unlocking the car and the moment she was about to open the door, she paused again when she got that feeling but only closer. She started breathing dangerously high then turned around.
"Ah!" She yelped when she came face to face with Jenna. "You scared me. Phew."
She smiled. "Hello, Vera."
Vera swallowed. "W-What are you doing here?"
"What sort of question is that? My husband works here and I normally visit him. But what are you doing with his car?" Jenna asked and crossed her arms then gave her a dull smile.
"I-Well, you see, since it's lunch time, I offered to buy him lunch because he didn't eat this morning and he looks hungry and weak," she replied while playing with the key within her grasp.
"Hmm, how did you know that he didn't have breakfast before leaving for work?" Jenna asked and leaned on the car, still sporting the same smile.
"Um, he told me," she replied and Jenna nodded. "I heard that you went away for some days."
"I did? Where did I go to?"
"Jonathan told me that you went away for four days and he was worried about you," Vera stated in a quivering tone.
Jenna laughed. "Is that so? How would he be worried when he was out on a business trip and having the fun of his life. Please, enlighten me."
"Jenna, I swear, nothing happened between the both of us," Vera said in a pleading tone. "The thing was, we heard of a new investor and we had to go, only for us to find out that it was fake."
"And you still didn't come back immediately after that? Shocking," the curly haired woman said with a shrug. "There's no need to cover up your disgusting self, Vera. You just need to watch your back because the hate within my heart for you can kill."
Vera bit her lip as Jenna brushed past her aggressively with a short laugh. The black haired woman turned around to watch Jenna walk away in long strides until she got to her car.
"Oh, God." She whispered, fear dripping.

Checking her time on her phone again, she sighed and looked over at the door from the indoor balcony she was leaning on. She ran her fingers through her hair and exhaled then rolled her eyes.
"Tsk, I know that they are together," she said and chuckled drily. "Dear, Jonathan. What am I going to do to you now? You keep your wife at home for another woman? Haha, I'm such a fool for falling for you. Or is it that you hate the color of my skin?"
She kissed her teeth and stood straight then ran her fingers along the wooden railing of the balcony. She began to hum and made her way down the steps after running her fingers to the start of it. She picked up her car key and walked out of the house and immediately, she saw Jonathan car coming from a distance, which made her run over to her own car and hide beside it until he stopped his car at the entrance of their home.
Jenna watched as he relaxed on his car seat and said something to someone who was sitting beside him, and that someone being none other than Vera. She scoffed and kept her gaze on them as they spoke animatedly to each other until Vera wrapped her arms around him, Jonathan followed suit and later pulled away.
"Just as I suspected," Jenna whispered the moment she saw Jonathan lean towards Vera's face and placed a kiss on her forehead then her cheek, while Vera giggled. "Such a disgrace, ugh."
Jenna sat down on the ground and clenched her fists too tight while gritting her teeth hard. She heard the car door close and the engine of Jonathan car starting up and driving, probably into the garage.
"I can't believe he's still cheating on me," she said in a low and cracked voice. "What did I ever do to him? I gave him all the love I could, why?"
"Are you still complaining? Do something already," the first Jenna spoke up again, in her twin form. "All of these won't stop until you do something."
Jenna sniffed and wiped her cheeks then rose up slowly after checking that the coast was clear. She fixed the key into the door handle then pulled the car door open and boarded the vehicle. She placed the key into the ignition and started the engine.
"Vera's going to wish she was never born," she stated with a dark look in her brown eyes. "She's going to pay!"
Jenna smirked and drove out of the compound and into the street that led to Vera's house which was almost a twenty minutes drive away from theirs. She kept on the lookout for the woman in the dark streets that only had a few illumination from a few houses and street lights.
After a few short minutes of driving, she found the woman strolling casually while speaking on the phone with her head bowed and hair shielding her face.
"She's probably speaking to my husband," she sneered and hit the gas harder. "But not today and forever, she won't."
Jenna gripped the steering wheel after moving the car in the line of where Vera was walking, she made sure that the headlights were turned off and that she was driving at almost sixty. A smile creeped on her face as she got closer to Vera who immediately spun around but was late, since the car collided into her body, running her over and dropping harshly on the other side of the road. She stopped the car to stare at the unmoving body of Vera laying in the middle of the street and after realizing that she was dead, she drove off and at a higher speed.
Jenna felt her heart beat fast and blood pump extremely within her system. She began to let out a small chuckle which later turned into a boisterous laughter as she drove at a high speed.
"Yes!" She yelled and screamed at the top of her lungs. "Jon's mine! He's mine!"
She laughed harder.

Jenna walked silently into her room after successfully creeping through the living room and hallways. When she got to her bed, she jumped onto it and sighed heavily.
"We'll see how you'll come between us, Vera," she said and chuckled. "Funny, I feel so good about this. Why? Because I've eliminated my problem forever."
A knock resounded on her room door, making her sit up instantly with a deep frown.
"What?!"
"It's Jonathan. Are you already sleeping yet?"
"No. Come in," she replied in a happy tone, knowing there wasn't anyone between them anymore.
The door opened and Jonathan walked in with a sheepish look on his tired face. The tall man, ran his fingers through his hair and scratched the back of his neck and cleared his throat.
"I-Well, I-"
"Speak up."
Jonathan nodded. "Can I lay with you? I missed sleeping beside you and having you in my arms."
Jenna looked him up and down, taking in his muscled and shirtless chest then his legs which were covered up with the sweatpants he was wearing then his slightly wet hair. She smiled and crawled out of bed and stood in front of him, wrapped her arms around his neck and made eye contact with him.
"I am your wife and you're my husband, you don't need to take permission to be with me," she whispered and smiled wider when he wrapped his strong arms around her waist.
"You've been acting all bad towards me lately, my love. You keep accusing me of cheating on you and it made me realize just how much I haven't been making you feel special and all, that's why you think I cheat on you." Jonathan rested his forehead against her own after pausing. "Why would I cheat on you when I have such a beautiful and amazing woman as mine, hm? And I'm sorry for ever saying such harsh words to you. I know you won't cheat on me."
Jenna giggled. "I'm sorry for doubting you, okay? Let's forget that our fight and misunderstanding ever happened. Let's start all over."
"Already on that," he whispered and captured her lips with his in a passionate kiss. He moaned and pulled her closer into his arms, then lifted his hand up to the back of her head where he tilted it and deepened the kiss.
Jenna pulled away and hooked her fingers in the waistline of his sweatpants then dragged him to the bed with her. She dropped on the bed and lay back flat then motioned for him to come closer with her index finger, which he did.
He crawled towards her, grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head then kissed her again before resting half of his body weight on hers. He ran his fingers down one of her hands to her stomach, where he lifted her shirt a little bit and caressed her smooth skin.
"I love you," he whispered against her lips. "I love you so much."
She moaned. "I love you too, Jon."
"I'm never going to let you out of my life," he said and placed his neck in the crook of her neck, placing hot kisses there.
Jenna kept her gaze on the ceiling and smirked deviously, a glint in her brown orbs.
"Of course you aren't," she said, and chuckled then shut her eyes.

The afro haired woman furrowed her brows when she felt the bed move instantly. She cracked her eyes open and felt Jonathan's warm arm leave her bare waist.
As tempted as she was to turn around and check what he was doing, she didn't, instead she waited to understand what was up until she heard the door open and him leave the room. Jenna checked her bedside table and saw on the clock that it was past 3am. She frowned when she heard the main door close heavily, causing her to sit up, wrapped the blanket around her body and ran to the room window, where she saw him board his car and drive out of the compound.
"Where is he going?"

Jenna drove silently behind her husband, making sure that there was a safe distance between them until she realized that he was pulling into Vera's neighborhood. She smirked but it fell instantly when he parked his car and rushed out.
Another thing she noticed, was that there was an ambulance, the neighbors were awake and some dogs were barking. She shifted her gaze from them and to Jonathan who looked at the body skeptically before looking away when someone who resembled Vera stepped out from opposite him.
"What?" Jenna whispered in disbelief when she saw it was actually Vera, who was currently standing too close to Jonathan with her hands around his upper arm while saying something. "I killed her!"
Her eyes shifted back to the woman who was being carried and placed on a stretcher, she narrowed her eyes and tried to take in the woman then gasped.
"I hit the wrong person." Dread filled her mind, then immediately drove away carefully.
"I hit the wrong person and-I-Jon is-No!" She barked and hit the steering wheel. "No! How can I be so stupid? But what was Jonathan doing with Vera? He's supposed to be in bed with me, by my side. Why was I so foolish to fall for their tricks! They fooled me again. No, I won't take this anymore!"
