Seeing Misa in real life brought out a feeling of determination in her. She wanted to fix things. No, she would fix things. If Misa's parents never die then she'll never become obsessed with Kira, at least not to the same degree, and her toxic relationship with Light could be avoided. If her relationship with Light doesn't exist then L's death could be avoided too. Misa's parents, L, and even Misa herself could be saved. As silly as it sounded, friendship was going to be how this rotten world would be saved.

Now how am I going to get close to Light? If I go to the same highschool as Light I'd graduate two years before him...hmm I could try to be a good upperclassmen to him... Oh well I have plenty of time to wait until then

"Hey, Ren are you ok?" Misa asked looking concerned.

"Yeah, sorry, I'm fine. I just zoned out for a sec there. It happens sometimes." Renata answered slightly embarrassed.

"Oh, alright. So as I was saying, who's this? You're really good at drawing!" Misa said holding up a drawing of L.

"Oh- um- well- *sigh* Please don't tell anyone, but I don't know. I see him in my dreams almost every night" Ren answered nearly honestly. She truly did see him in her dreams.

"He must be your soulmate!" Misa said bursting with excitement.

"You really think so?" Renata asked genuinely feeling nervous at the thought.

"Why else would you see someone you've never met so often in your dreams?" Misa said with a thoughtful expression gazing at the clouds on the ceiling.

"You might be right." Renata said with a Smile.

"Of course I am! Now let's find matching stuff we can bring to school" Misa said cheerfully.

"Alright!" Renata said happily.
