Her room was finally done. The walls were painted purple with bunnies and stars on them, her bed made plush to perfection, and her posters were up.

Her father called her downstairs, "They're here! Hurry down to meet the neighbors, Cubster!"

"Coming!" She yelled back and put her sketch book filled with drawings of L away and into the drawer of her side table. Her bare feet plodded down the stairs from the second floor, which she had all to herself. The neighbors that waited downstairs for her were the very last people she expected to see.

"This is Mrs. Amane and her daughter Misa, they live in the house directly across from us. This is my daughter. We just call her Ren " Her mother said introducing her. Renata couldn't believe what her eyes saw. Suddenly it made sense why she couldn't find a single episode of Death Note. Young Misa was standing infront of her and waving excitedly.

"It's so nice to have a girl my age living so close by. I heard we're going to the same school! We should be friends, Ren!" Misa said happily.

" Why not? Sure, let's be friends! Hey, wanna see my new room?" Renata said excitedly.

"OOO YES!" Misa said grabbing her hand as they ran up the up the stairs.
