(Two days later)

It was now the mission in which Avalanche will infiltrate and blow up Mako Reactor 2. After days of scouting, Cloud saw that the reactor is heavily guarded by officers, guard dogs and Shinra built mechs.

Y/N was full of motivation after his first successful date with Tifa. He is now ready to bring down the reactor side by side with her and Cloud.

Y/N got out of his apartment and made his way to Seventh Heaven where he was greeted by Tifa outside.

Tifa: hey there

Y/N: were you waiting for me?

He smirked as Tifa blushed a bit.

Tifa: yeah, I was

Y/N: is everybody here?

Tifa: yeah, we're just about to head out

Y/N: alright, let's join them

Tifa nodded and held Y/N's hand as the two joined the rest of Avalanche.

Barret: ah Y/N, you're ready to kick some Shinra ass?

Y/N: yeah, sticking it to my former employer is what I vision

Barret: alright, everybody let's move move move!

Avalanche left the bar and rode a train to the plate topside, since that's the only access to the reactor.

After successfully getting passed through security with their fake Shinra IDs, the group left the train and made their way to the reactor.

Barret: hold up, I see two officers up ahead in our way; got any ideas, Y/N?

Y/N: one of us provides a distraction while I drop in on them

Cloud: I'll distract, you take care of them

Cloud went up and got the officers' attention.

Officer: halt, let's see some ID

Then Y/N snuck around and climbed up a stack of shipping containers until he was directly above the two officers. Barret was confused as he watched the hooded ex-SOLDIER.

Barret: what in the hell is Y/N doing?

Tifa: shh, just watch

Y/N unleashed his dual hidden blades and dropped in on the two officers as he performed a double air assassination.

Cloud: nice surprise man

Y/N: as always

Barret: damn, now you're starting to impress me

Tifa smiled and nodded.

Y/N: alright, let's move

The group went inside the reactor and made their way down to the base, which according to the blueprints is the weakest spot of the structure. Jessie handed Cloud the bomb as the group is split up into two to cover more ground. Jessie, Wedge and Biggs are in charge of surveillance in case any reinforcements show up while Y/N, Cloud, Tifa and Barret have the lead on blowing up the reactor core.

The four person group proceeded their way to the core until they were stopped by a squad of officers and guard dogs.

Barret: huh, a bunch of Shinra lapdogs

Y/N: no problem, we got this

Cloud: we can beat them

Tifa: let's go!

The group got ready and battled the officers and guard dogs. Cloud took down one guard dog with the Focused Thrust using his Buster Sword; Y/N took down an officer with the Braver slash.

Barret easily took down another guard dog with rapid shots from his Gatling gun arm while Tifa took care of the last officer with a four punch combo followed by an uppercut.

As the area was cleared, Barret decided to sing a little victory tune.

Y/N: what was that?

Barret: a little victory theme

Y/N: catchy

The two continued their way down to the base of the reactor. Y/N, Cloud, Tifa and Barret were then ambushed by a platoon of armed officers.

Y/N: you three go, I'll handle them

Cloud: gotcha

Barret: you better be right behind us, man

Tifa: Y/N!

Y/N: it's alright Tifa, I'll catch up, now go!

The three dashed off leaving Y/N to deal with the numbers game.

Y/N: 12 against one, bring it on

The platoon fired their guns, but Y/N blocked it using his Twin Stinger. 

Y/N: my turn

The ex-SOLDIER took out his dual pistols and fired at the platoon, taking them out one by one until the last one fell.

Y/N: that's that

Y/N managed to catch up with Tifa, Cloud and Barret as he saw that they also fought a platoon of officers.

Y/N: started the party without me, huh?

Tifa: Y/N, you're okay!

Y/N: yeah, those officers didn't stand a chance against me

Barret: glad you're in one piece man

Y/N: yup, so are we taking the stairs or the elevator?

Barret: to hell with the stairs, we're taking the elevator

As the four made their way to the elevator, what they didn't know is that there was security camera recording them; and observing them was President Shinra and the head of Public Safety, Heidegger.

President Shinra

Heidegger: those sewer rats called themselves Avalanche, sir. They may be the same group who made a threat on your life

The President smirked as his eyes focus on the monitor.

President: deal with them as soon as possible

Heidegger: sir

(Meanwhile)

The Avalanche group rode an elevator down to the floor close to the reactor core; as they rode, Barret went on to make a speech.

Barret: this pump's sole purpose is to drain the planet dry. While you sleep, while you eat, while you shit-- it's here sucking up mako! It doesn't rest and it doesn't care! Y/N, you know what mako is don't you?

Y/N: the lifeblood of our world. It bleeds green while all of us bleed red

Barret: damn right! And you're all gonna stand there and pretend you can't hear the planet crying out in pain? I know you can!

The Avalanche leader said as he pointed at Cloud.

Cloud: you really hear that?

Barret: damn straight I do!

Cloud: get help

Y/N and Tifa gasped at Cloud's statement while Barret approached him.

Barret: say that again

Then the elevator stopped at the floor that is a just trip down to the core.

Cloud: worry about the next five seconds, save the screaming for later

Y/N: Tifa, are those two always like that together?

Tifa: that's how they are, and that's why I always have to keep a close eye on them

Y/N: you're like their mother

Tifa giggled and blushed a bit.

Tifa: come on, let's go

Y/N nodded and the group continued their way down to the reactor's core. Then they were met by a Shinra built mech called a Sweeper.

Cloud: a Sweeper, that thing can wipe out a squad in seconds

Y/N: it's no match for us

Tifa: right!

Barret: let's blow this thing to hell!

The group got ready and began to battle the mech. Cloud knew that a fire attack can weaken the mech easily.

Cloud: use your magic to weaken it!

Tifa: on it!

Y/N: right behind you!

The party used their fire and thunder materia attack to easily weaken and stagger the Sweeper.

Cloud: go! Attack with everything!

The party launched a barrage of attacks until the Sweeper shut down and exploded.

Barret: get your ass out of here, Shinra mech!

Cloud: let's go, the core is just down there

The party climbed down using the ladders to make their way to the reactor core.

Y/N: Cloud, you got the explosives?

Cloud: yeah

Y/N: let me do it, I want to set it up

Barret: give it to him, man

Cloud nodded and gave Y/N the explosives.

Tifa: the timer is up to you, Y/N. Choose wisely

Y/N went to core and stared at it; memories came flooding back of the reactor's purpose. The ex-SOLDIER set up the explosives and set the timer for 30 minutes.

Y/N we have 30 minutes

Barret: plenty enough time to get the hell out of here

As the party were about to leave, they were stopped by a laser shot. The four of them looked around to see a Scorpion Sentinel followed by a hologram of Heidegger.

Heidegger: well well well, if it isn't the sewer rats themselves

Y/N: Heidegger

Heidegger: I know that the four of you were the ones behind the destruction of Reactor 1

Barret: why don't you come from behind Shinra's ass and say it straight to my face!

Heidegger: hmph charming, you slum rats are becoming nuisances to our vision, and it seems you all met the exterminator. Have fun

The hologram of Heidegger disappeared, leaving the party to battle the Scorpion Sentinel.

Cloud: remember to use magic attacks to weaken it!

The party nodded and readied themselves for battle.

The four avoided the Scorpion's laser attacks and barrage of missiles as they slashed, fired and and punched the mech while using their elemental materia attacks to weaken it.

Y/N moved and avoided the laser shots, and then jumped to destroy the laser system by stabbing it with his hidden blade.

Y/N: go all out!

Tifa: let's go!

The party unleashed a barrage of attacks until the Sentinel was defeated and the destroyed.

The party saw that they have 20 minutes until the bomb explodes.

Y/N: we don't have enough time, let's get out of here!

The party nodded and climbed up the ladders. Then they were met by Shinra shock troopers and sentinel guns; they easily defeated the reinforcements and continued to retreat.

Barret: let's move move move!

Cloud: we have 10 minutes!

The party regrouped with Jessie, Wedge and Biggs and all of Avalanche managed to escape from the reactor. They ran to a safe distance and watched as the reactor explode and the mako energy is returning to the planet.

Barret: that's two

Y/N: such evil intentions for their own corporate greed

Y/N watched as the reactor burns while Tifa puts her hand on his arm to calm him down.

Cloud: let's go before they find us

Avalanche knew that with the reactor explosion, security is own high alert and are on the hunt, but the good news is that they managed to sneak through security system as they board a train back to the slums.

(Minutes later)

The train stopped at Sector 7 and the party exited the train.

Barret: another one goes down

Cloud nodded.

Barret: all of you deserve some R&R for sticking it to Shinra

Y/N: yeah, time for me to rest

Barret: Reactor 3 will be next, but for now, let's all take a rest

The group nodded as they went on their ways home.

As for Tifa and Y/N, they walked back to their apartment building while they held each other's hands.

Tifa: Y/N, you got a little something on your cheek

Y/N: where?

Tifa: let me take care of it

Tifa wiped the black colored stain from his face with her soft hand, which was just some grease from one of the mechs.

Y/N: that's another reactor down

Tifa: yeah

Y/N: well Tifa, until we wait for the next mission, wanna hang out just the two of us?

Tifa smiled and blushed a bit.

Tifa: yeah, we can have lunch at the bar, I can cook up something for the both of us

Y/N: can I help?

Tifa: absolutely

Y/N: looks like we have another date tomorrow

Y/N smirked while Tifa blushed.

Tifa: I can't wait

Y/N: yeah me too

Tifa: well let's get some sleep after that long mission

Y/N: yeah, and Barret's right, we deserve some R&R

The two smiled and gave each other a warm hug. As they let go, Tifa gave Y/N a good night kiss on his cheek, making him smirk.

Tifa: sleep tight Y/N

Tifa smiled as she went inside her room for the night. Then Y/N went inside his room and set his weapons down before he laid in bed.

With the successful mission of Mako Reactor 2, Y/N is looking forward for another day alone with Tifa tomorrow. He then went to sleep for the night.
