Barret and the other members of Avalanche were slowly putting together the plan to infiltrate and blow up Mako Reactor 2, which gave time for Cloud to continue to patrol the area around the slums.

As for Y/N, it was the day that he will show Tifa his skills in combat he learned when he was a SOLDIER. Y/N still remembered last night that Tifa teased him saying that today is a date for them. Y/N thought to himself as he smirked.

Y/N: you know what Tifa, today is a date

The ex-SOLDIER smirked and got his weapons before he left his apartment room to make his way to Seventh Heaven.

As Y/N walked, his path was blocked by three petty robbers, led by their leader, Beck.

Beck: give us your gil now!

Y/N: why don't you work and earn it yourself

Beck: are you being serious? Just give us the money and we can be on our way!

Y/N: shame such petty thieves like you rob from innocent people who work hard

Beck: enough!

Beck lunged to hit a punch, but Y/N sidestepped out of the way; then a fight erupted as the three robbers try to use the numbers on Y/N, but the ex-SOLDIER made quick work as he easily knock out the robbers without the use of his weapons.

Y/N: that's taken care of

He said as he continued his way to the bar. Y/N went inside to see Tifa with his drink ready.

Y/N: oh, good morning; and you got my drink ready

Tifa smiled as she saw Y/N.

Tifa: I already know what your tastes are

Y/N paid and drank his beverage.

Y/N: so Tifa, ready for our date later?

He said as he smirked while Tifa's eyes widen a bit as she blushed.

Tifa: date?

Y/N: yes, last night you said that today is our date, since I will show you my combat skills

Tifa: oh... yes. Why did I forget that? Of course, I'm ready. I can't wait to see what you learned as a SOLDIER

Y/N: I'm pretty sure you'll be impressed once I show you

Tifa: you had a big impression on me when you exterminated those monsters yesterday

Y/N: I aim to please

Tifa: you sure do...

Y/N: no word yet from Barret?

Tifa: Cloud updated me that the plan is slowly being put together

Y/N: oh okay

Tifa: Y/N, can I ask you something?

Y/N: of course, you can ask me anything

Tifa: that hidden blade on your left arm; Cloud told me that no other SOLDIERs have that weapon, only you do. Is there a story behind it?

Y/N: oh yes, this hidden blade has been in my family for a long time

Tifa: oh wow, I'm surprised that it's still functional

Y/N: because it was really taken care of

Tifa: you mentioned there is story, mind telling me it?

Y/N: well, I don't know all the details, but I did read some manifests of the blade. All I remembered is that it belonged to my great great-grandfather

Tifa: ooh, that's interesting

Y/N: I don't know much about him, but stories I heard from those manifests is that he was a master Assassin leading a group of rebels against a powerful organization

Tifa: a group like Avalanche? And a powerful organization like Shinra?

Y/N: I believe so, but my great great-grandfather's motives is to give the people freedom, not letting others control their free will

Tifa: your great great-grandfather sounds awesome

Y/N: and just like me, he also wore a hood

Tifa: have you got the name of the organization that he fought against?

Y/N: according to the records, the organization is called, the Templar Order. And just like Shinra, the Templars want to find something to get them to their vision of a perfect world

Tifa: wow, two different groups with a similar motive

Y/N: I did manage to find a piece of what is like a diary page in my great great-grandfather's handwriting. I carried it with me just to see how much my grandfather matured from a brash young man to a master fighter

Tifa: oh, what does it say?

Y/N took out the diary page and Tifa went to read it. Tifa was amazed of much the paper was in great shape despite its yellow color.

Y/N: that is why I broke away from Shinra, they took my freedom

Tifa: again, your great great-grandfather sounds like a great man

Y/N: only I wish I knew his name

Tifa: you will... in time

Y/N: anyways Tifa, ready to see what I mastered?

Tifa: yes! I'm excited

Y/N smiled as he finished his drink. Then two left the bar and made their way to Scrap Boulevard to show off their skills.

Y/N found a couple of practice dummies within the pile of junk and then set them up.

Y/N: we can use these

Tifa: yeah, that can work

Y/N: let me see what you have in your arsenal, Tifa

Tifa: well I have speed as my advantage, so let me show you

Tifa connected some quick straight punches followed by an uppercut. She then leaped into the air and connected with another move in her arsenal, a dive kick.

Y/N nodded as he was impressed of Tifa's speed and ability. Tifa then performed a strong shoulder block, sending the dummy flying into a pile of metal.

Y/N: whoa!

Tifa: I may be pretty, but I'm also strong

Y/N: I can see that, you sent that dummy flying

Y/N went to get the dummy and set it back up.

Tifa: now let me see what you have, SOLDIER boy

Y/N smirked.

Y/N: with pleasure, Tifa

Y/N got his Twin Stinger out and unleashed quick slashes on the dummy, much to Tifa's amazement. He then showed off his abilities by showing a flipping downward slash called the Braver.

Tifa: wow!

Y/N then unleashed another ability called the Triple Slash, which was three huge sword swings with a lot of damage.

Tifa: that's really impressive

Y/N: then you'll love this

Y/N performed his third ability as he held the Twin Stinger like a Samurai and then connected the Focused Shot.

Tifa: Y/N, you're impressing me more and more

Y/N smiled.

Y/N: now time to show you what I do with my hidden blades

Tifa watched as Y/N went to set a distance between himself and the dummy.

Y/N then ran at full speed and jumped in midair as he unleashed his hidden blade.

Tifa watched in awe as Y/N impaled the dummy with his blade.

Tifa: Y/N... that was really impressive

Y/N: a move I learned on my own

Tifa: and it's really effective

Y/N blushed a bit.

Y/N: thanks

Tifa was blushing a bit as well as she looked away to hide her cheeks.

Tifa: oh you didn't use your pistols

Y/N: I only use them for emergencies

Then the two were ambushed by a group of Shinra officers.

Officer: hands up! You're surrounded!

Tifa and Y/N got in position as they ready for combat.

Y/N: ready for a fight?

Tifa: always

The two fought off the squad of officers using the abilities they showed off during their date. Tifa sent some officers flying by her uppercut and shoulder block while Y/N slashed away with his Twin Stinger. Tifa targeted the last officer as she yelled out for Y/N.

Tifa: Y/N, launch me!

Y/N nodded and got in position for Tifa to use him as a boost. Tifa ran and jumped on his back and executed a dive kick on the last officer.

All of the officers were defeated as Tifa and Y/N stood tall.

Y/N: we did it!

Tifa: yeah!

She smiled as Tifa hugged Y/N, much to the surprise of the ex-SOLDIER. Tifa saw what she was doing and let go while she blushed.

Tifa: s-sorry about that

Y/N: i-it's okay Tifa

The ex-SOLDIER also blushed lightly.

Tifa: wanna head back?

Y/N: yeah sounds good; did you have fun?

Tifa: oh yeah, I really enjoyed our first date together

Y/N: and again, I got to be with you today

Tifa: aww, you're sweet

Y/N: well, all SOLDIERs are not that tough, we have heart

Tifa and Y/N left Scrap Boulevard and went back to the bar for some rest and relaxation.

Tifa: you know Y/N, every time you and I are alone together, you always impress me

Y/N: oh really? Well you also impress me as well. You're a tough fighter, yet a beautiful girl

Tifa moved her hair as she blushed, now her red cheeks visible for Y/N to see. The ex-SOLDIER smirked as he notices it.

Tifa: Y/N, I know the mission is not set yet, but uhh...

Y/N: uhh, I was gonna ask something too...

Tifa: yes?

Y/N: I really enjoyed today, so uhh can I take you out for an official date?

Tifa blushed more.

Tifa: a-are you asking me out?

Y/N nervously nodded.

Y/N: y-yes I am

Tifa smiled and leaned close to the ex-SOLDIER.

Tifa: I would love you; it'll be our first official date together

Y/N: I can't wait

The two smiled at each other.

(Later)

The bar closed up for the night and the two headed to their apartment building. Cloud was already in his room resting up.

The two walked up to their floor.

Tifa: well this is our stop, thanks for showing me your skills in combat, Y/N

Y/N: I really had fun with you today, Tifa

Tifa smiled at the ex-SOLDIER; then she gathered up all her confidence as she walked up to Y/N and gave him a hug.

Y/N wrapped his arms around and hugged her back.

Tifa: good night Y/N, I'll see you tomorrow

Y/N: yeah

Tifa smiled as she ran her hand on his arm before going inside to her room. Then Y/N went to his room and set his weapons aside.

The ex-SOLDIER laid in bed with a smile on his face as he is now looking forward for his first official date with the beautiful Tifa. He then went to sleep for the night.
