Y/N was surprised and caught off guard as he was being dragged around the town of Kalm by Aerith, as the flower girl caught the Assassin with a surprise date.

Y/N: Aerith, what is this?

Aerith: it's a date, silly

She said as she adorably giggled.

Y/N: uhh Aerith, you know-

Aerith: I know, you and Tifa are dating. She told me you know, we're roommates

Y/N: oh I see, that's good to hear

Aerith: so tell me Y/N, what's your idea of a first date?

Y/N: hmm, just walking around I guess, I didn't had much time socializing as a SOLDIER

Aerith: well then, let's commence our friendly date

Y/N: whoa! Wait for me

Aerith first took Y/N to a bookstore, but it wasn't any ordinary bookstore, this one in particular lets the party upgrade their weapons and learn new techniques and attacks. One technique in particular let's Y/N modify his left hidden blade to make it pivot and work as a small dagger for quick slashes to his enemy's throats followed by a quick thrust of his right hidden blade. Another interesting technique are the uses of synergy abilities, which allows him to perform combo moves with any member of the party.

After modifying his blade and learned new techniques, he continued to walk around with Aerith as the two spotted a water tower in town.

Aerith: hmm, wonder what this reminds somebody of?

Y/N: a certain promise someone made to a certain girl

Aerith giggled.

Aerith: I wonder who that someone is

Y/N: all I can say is that his hair is shaped like a chocobo

Aerith giggled.

Aerith: it seems Tifa told you our joke

Y/N: she tells me everything

Aerith: come on, let's get a better view of the town from the clock tower

Y/N: right behind you

The two went to the balcony of the tower to see the surrounding town above them.

Aerith: I think Midgar is this way

Y/N: should be yeah

The two went to see the City of Mako from their position.

Aerith: funny how small it looks

Y/N: well it is far away

Aerith: so did something happen between you and Cloud?

Y/N: huh? What do you mean?

Aerith: Cloud said you weren't yourself last night

Y/N: oh that was nothing, I just didn't get enough sleep last night

Aerith: well, I hope everything is okay between you two

Just then their friendly date was interrupted by the arrival and sounds of Shinra aircraft.

Y/N: son of a bitch, what are they doing here?

Y/N and Aerith ran to regroup with the rest of the party as Shinra troopers dropped in to search for Avalanche, but the five were split up as more troops began to drop in by the numbers.

As Y/N and Aerith were about to take the fight to the soldiers, they were stopped by the innkeeper Broden.

Broden: ah, there you are. There isn't much time, we need to get back to the inn

Aerith: but...

Broden: don't worry about your friends; they're same, trust me

Y/N's initial directive were on the soldiers, but Broden stopped him.

Broden: no violence... please. This town has suffered enough

Y/N and Aerith followed Broden back to the inn and avoided detection from the Shinra guards. Then the innkeeper went to provide a distraction as Y/N and Aerith took the route to the rooftops. Broden signaled them from below and the two regrouped with him as they managed to get back to the inn.

Aerith: where are they?

Broden: down below, waiting for you

The innkeeper as he activated a secret mechanism to reveal a secret ladder leading down.

Broden: the tunnel in the basement will take you outside of town. Leave now and they won't catch you. Head to the east, I got a friend who runs a farm out there. He'll gladly help you

Then the innkeeper brought out a strange device.

Broden: take this, it's a transmuter. It converts raw resources to more useful items; an old republic antique, but it still works

Y/N: hmm...

The Assassin then grabbed the device along with a bag of raw materials.

Y/N: why you doing this? You could've just turned us in

Broden: yeah... but Kalm and myself have history with Shinra. This could be the worst decision I ever made, so before I change my mind, you two better get going

Y/N and Aerith proceeded to slide down the ladder to regroup with Cloud, Tifa, Barret and Red XIII.

Tifa: you made it! All in one piece?

Y/N silently nodded.

Aerith: sorry we're late!

Barret: for the love of... where the hell have you two been?

Aerith: on a date... kind of

Tifa: wha?

Y/N: uhh...

Cloud can only stand silently and crossed his arms as he sees his friend's predicament.

Y/N: correction, it was a friendly date

Barret: well that was the last one! Least till things calm down. Got that?

Y/N, Cloud, Tifa, Aerith and Red all nodded and understood.

Barret: now, let's move

The party went along the escape route.

Tifa: where to now?

Red XIII: where there's a draft, there's a way

Barret: looks like a job for me

They continued to follow the route until they saw some metal doors. Cloud went to open the doors and the party were blinded by the bright sunlight and revealed the open Grasslands.

The party were in awe at the beautiful sight of the planet.

Aerith: wow... just look at it all, it's so green. A living breathing planet, even after everything we've done to it, it's still going strong

Red XIII: it make look that way, but in reality it is still hanging on

Aerith: guess I still have a lot to learn

Barret: what do you wanna know?

Aerith: for starters... how do we cross these plains?

Barret: come on now, that's easy, the same way where you get anywhere. Pick a direction and start walking! 

Aerith then took a little leap.

Aerith: and there it was, the first step on our new journey. You coming?

Tifa: yeah

Y/N: you can count on it

Barret: of course we are

 Red XIII: follow me

The party free ran through the big open area of the Grasslands with their mind set on their main objective, finding the farm Broden the innkeeper mentioned.

There they saw a local chocobo farm in the area. They were told that they can rent some of the birds for faster travel, but the price for rent is a bit steep for them, however it can be free of charge if they managed to return one of their chocobos named Piko who ran off somewhere.

The party agreed to the conditions and proceed to search for Piko. They then spotted some wild chocobos and amongst the pile was Piko.

Y/N: they said to use stealth, so sit back, let me get him

Y/N used the surrounding vegetation to blend in without being spotted by large bird and used rocks to provide a distraction whenever Piko is facing his direction. He then slowly snuck up on the bird and got on its back like he was riding an angry bull.

Y/N: whoa easy boy, easy!

With Piko under control, Cloud fed it some greens.

Aerith: aw, isn't he the cutest?

Then Tifa and Aerith noticed quite a resemblance between Cloud and Piko.

Aerith: you know, they are kind of similar

Tifa: totally

Cloud was not amused of the girls' chocobo hairstyle joke, but Y/N chuckled silently under his hood. They then followed Piko back to the farm and proceeded to rent and ride the chocobos to their next destination, the region of Junon.
