Rika rarely ever left the comfort of her home. In fact, leaving her apartment was almost as rare as a solar eclipse—something that only happened when absolutely necessary, like, say, for toothpaste.

Her entire life, she craved order—a predictable routine where every step was planned, every move known. Like a game of chess that she could easily win. It was a life of safety, of control. Her brother, Karube, though? He was the complete opposite. He thrived on chaos. The more unpredictable, the better.

His idea of a successful month was one spent jumping through flaming hoops while juggling a dozen problems.

So, naturally, you can imagine her surprise when, one ordinary day, her trip to the store for toothpaste took a detour. There she was, minding her own business, when Karube—of course—decided to rope her into some wild new "adventure" with his friends. Before she could even register what was happening, she was being pulled across an intersection at full speed with fireworks in the sky.

'Fireworks?' You might say— yes, fireworks, exploding in the distance during broad daylight. And then, like always, everything went south. They ended up crammed into a tiny bathroom stall, trying (and failing) to lay low after causing an absolute mess in the streets.

But here comes the real kicker: while they were hiding out from the trouble they had stirred up, everyone suddenly disappears. Poof. Gone!

Next thing they know, they're in an empty world, forced to play deadly games for their survival. No pressure, right? A simple borderland of life and death, where every decision feels like a gamble, and only their determination to stay alive keeps them from breaking. But hey, at least they didn't have to get that toothpaste.

okay so tiktok is going bye bye and all of a sudden i have motivation to write a story! what a wild day! anyways i binged alice in borderland within like 3 days and now i'm obsessed so i deemed it necessary to make my return to this app

now i THINK the love interest in this story will be my beloved chishiya, but i'm also kinda leaning towards arisu so i'm gonna go with the flow and see which pairing gets the most attention then the decision will be made 🙏 but if you guys have an opinion on that you can comment here cause im down to hear it
