Chapter 7
Kitsu
Apparently, the guys were done too, and almost all of them wore yukatas that matched them. The knly ones that didn't were Bakugo, Denki, Kirishima, and Iida, since Iida dressed in a suit. Honestly, it didn't surprise me, since he came from an elite school.
"You're all looking great!" Denki said and with a grin and Bakugo scoffed and looked away.
"Let's just hurry up and get this over with." He said and I had my arms crossed nervously and I left the group quietly and sneakily, which I managed ti do and I got to a ztand and bought a pocky before standing outside the crowd.
I didn't like crowds either, which did only make me want to stay away from them as much as possible, but I figured I also had to stay somewhere where I could be spotted.
"Wasagi," I looked to see Kirishima and I smiled a bit.
"Hey, Kirishkma," I said and he seemed a bit concerned.
"You alright?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah. It was just getting a little more crowded than I was comfortable with," I said and he chuckled a bit.
"You know, if uou get that uncomfortable easily, Wasagi, you didn't have to come,"
"No, I came cause I wanted to!" I quickly said with a smile and he stared at me for a moment. "After all, I think time well spent with people you care about is a lot more important than everything else,"
He laughed a bit, catching me off guard. "I guess that's true," he said with his usual grin and I smiled a bit with a small blush.
"How about we go ahead and visit some of the booths?" I asked, grabbing his hand and he stared at me for a moment before getting a blush on his cheeks and he smiled.
"Sure," he said and I giggled a bit and we began to have a casual conversation while visiting booths. I occasionally caught him staring at me though, but I didn't mind for some reason.
"Wasagi," I looked at Kirishima and saw he had a dark red blush, and we were taking a break from going booth to booth, so we were sitting on a bench together. "Are you by any chance. . . seeing anybody?" He asked and I became confused.
"No, I'm not. I mean, aside from Mineta trying to peep in on me every chance he gets," I said with a sweatdrop at the thought as my face paled. "I kinda don't like him for it. . . He's too invasive for me to like him in any sort of way besides as a friend," I said and he seemed relieved, but there was a different look in his eyes like he was feeling skmething else, but I couldn't pin exactly how he felt that he was trying to hide. "Why are you curious about it?"
"Well, I was wondering that since you weren't seeing anyone. . .Would you-" he got cut off as I heard someone speak over a microphone to sound through the whole square.
"Time for the duo dances!"
The volume made me cringe a bit, since I realized. . .it was Present Mic who announced it. . .guess soneone called him up. . .
Kirishima stood up and I looked at him. "Would you like to dance with me?" Hd asked and I was a bit surprised before smiling and I took his hand.
"Sure," I said, happily and he smiled as I got up from the bench with a little bit of his help and he took me to where the other people were dancing as couples, mostly and after a few minutes, I had a smile.
"So about the question earlier. . ." He said and he had a small smile and I became a bit more curious.
"What is it?"
"I was wondering, if you'd like to be my girlfriend," He said and he had a hopeful look, making me bkush and I paused in the dance because I was a bit surprised before I smiled a bit and decided to give him my answer. I simply just met my lips with his, which he then put his arms around me and I put my arms around his neck. When I pulled back, I smiled at him as he stared at me in my eyes.
"That answer it for you, Eijiro?" I asked and he smiled.
"Yeah, Kitsu," He was the one to kiss me back this time, and I melted into it easily.
During the festival, we spent the rest of the time together and then we met back with the others at the end of the festival to head back to the dorms.
Blake
After the conversation with my mother, I was sent back to my room and I didn't see Twice or Aelia anywhere, but I grabbed one of the make-up kits my mother wouldn't stop buying and threw it at a wall just as Twice came out from the wardrobe and he yelped, nearly jumping back in and I froze after getfing startled.
"Jesus!" I yelled from getting startled by his sudden appearance and the fact I almost threw it at him. "Don't come out of nowhere like that, Twice," I said and he looked from the now destroyed make-up kit and came over to me.
"Are you alright?"
"Just my damn mother pissing me off as per usual when I'm in this hell hole of a place," I said and I sat in a chair and ran my hands through my hair.
"What exactly did your mother do this time?" He asked and he came over to me.
"She told me she had arranged one of the suitors my dad chose to marry me because I refused to choose one," I said and he seemed shocked for a moment.
"Suitors. . .?" He asked and I nodded.
"That's apparently the reason my father wanted me brought back here. They wanted me to marry off to someone else just so I'd either be a tool to give them a stronger alliance with someone or give them a chance of having me able to have stronger children so they could use them more than they tried to use me." He looked towards the window and I stared at him for a moment.
"Let's leave then," he said and I blinked a couple of times before he hugged me.
I sighed and was about to sag something before he pulled me onto his back, making me cling to him tightly and I was surprised. "Twice, what are you thinking?!" I asked and he began moving towards the window.
"We're leaving. I'm not going to let you sray if you're parents are going to only use you," he said and he had a smile, from the creases on his mask. "Besides, you were happier when you were with us, right? You've only felt trapped when you're here and being a villain is all ablut having your freedom of doing what makes you happy," he said and I stared at him for a moment before I smiled a bit.
Guess he's right. . .I've been an idiot for a phoenix not to realize that sooner. . . I thought and he jumped out the window, making me shut my eyes as I buried my face into his back and I instinctively held on tighter with my full body so I didn't fly off of his back. I heard rapid gunfire and I became a phoenix and I used my body to sheild Twice and I let mt body flare knn flames except towards Twice to melt the bullets before they touch me and the gunfire eventually stopped and I realized that I had my orange streaks, which gave me relief. I felt Twice using his hand and he touched a spot I rather he didn't touch and I used my talons and pushed him away from the spot and I looked back at the men who had opened firs and they were all shaking in fear at the fact I had been able to use my flames to melt the bullets so easily. I then picked up Twice and set him carefully on my back before I flew off quickly.
"What the-This is actually kinda cool! Where's Blake?" He asked as he looked back towards the ground and I huffed before I ruffled my neck feathers and he looked at me. "And what's with you? I was just wondering where the woman I care about is," My eyes widened a bit, but then I sighed and made myself land on a roof in the city and I let him off of me, in which he did so.
"Normally, I would think an idiot would piece it together quicker," I said as I became human again. Twice froze for a moment. "But, I guess you do get a few points for the quick getaway from the building," I said and he smkled, gleefully before pointing at himself.
"And? What did you think of my speech before?!" He exclaimed and I chuckled a bit.
"A bit amusing, since I thought the last person to lecture me would be a villain that isn't either my mother od father. Now, come on. I know someone we can head to who'll have us there for as long as possible," I said and I walked with him through the city and he wore jeans and a blue jacket over his suit, leaving his mask on.
"Who is it exactly we'll be visiting?" Twice asked and I looked at him.
"She's old and still the last person you want to mess with, but she's my grandmother and knows every one of my mother's tricks and knows how to curve around certain situations."
After a while, we arrived at my grandmother's house and I opened the door. "Ah, here once again, huh, my little bird? And I see you've brought a friend this time," Grandma said and she had a pretty youthful look, but she had slight case of wrinkles and grey hairs in her red hair.
"Yes, he's a friend of mine. Look, would you mind if we stayed for a little while? Kinda just got here from not-so-homey home," I said and she sighed.
"Let me guess, your parents tried to get you into an arranged marriage without your consent?" I nodded.
"Ywah, you could say that, actually," I said and she smiled while opening her green eyes as she stood from the chair.
"So, you're not surprised that she just came home with a strange guy?" Twice asked and Grandmother got an amused grin.
"Always expect the unexpected in this house, domino," She said and Twice froze at being called a domino and I giggled a bit.
"She always makes up nicknames like that, so you may have to get used to it while you're here," I said and he seemed to crouch with his arms around his legs like a depressed child who couldn't get any ice cream and I pat his head a bit. "Come on," I said and I took him up to the onlt spare room in the house which I used when I was over after escaping my parents with Lillie. I found myself spacing out at the picture of me and Lillie that sat on the desk in the room and Twice noticed.
"I'm sure Lillie will be alright, Blake," He said and I smiled a bit.
"I know, but I guess spending ten years without much seperation from her kinda gets to me easily." I said and I sat on the side of the bed where I sat right in the middle of it and Twice sat next to me, with his mask taken off.
"She seems really close with you, but it's not surprising since you acted more like a mother to her than your mother did," He said and I chuckled with a small smile
"Yeah," I said and he smiled back at me. "But it's only cause my mother didn't want to take care of her and she thought of Lillie as worthless, which I couldn't even begin tolerating that kind of behavior from her," I said and Twice frowned.
"Yeah, I haven't met her, but I'm pretty sure she'd be the type of person to put up a lot of barriers from everyone else," Twice said and I looked at him.
"That wouldn't exactly begin to start it, if she did so." I said and he smiled.
"As long as you're away from there, I'd be happy enough," he said and I felt myself blush a bit.
Varek
I was outside the hideout and I stared at the sky as I heard All for One come out. "Varek," He said and I looked at him as he held my phone to me. "You forgot this. Any word from your niece since Twice left?"
"Nope," I said sinply and I grabbed my phone from him and smiled a bit. "But, I'm hoping that Trisha and Gideon aren't expecting Twice to be there either," I said and he nodded.
"Once you get word from Blake or Twice, let me know," I nodded at him and he went inside the hideout again. I heard my phone start going off and I looked at it to see my mother was calling and I answered.
"Hey, Mom," I said and she sounded like she was smiling.
"Hello, Varry. I have Blake and her domino friend here at home and it sounds like they may have fun."
"Alright, tha- wait. . ." My fathering instincts kicked in and I paled. "What kind of fun do you mean, exactly?"
"The kind you and Seraphine do. And don't overreact. She's a grown adult and can choose whatevrr she wants," She said and I was standing still for a long time and I felt like I started withering.
"Not. . .Blakie. . ."
"Oh, hush, Varek. You should know Blake is a very careful person around others, so she wouldn't be doing it if she didn't really love him," She said snd J quickly shook my head.
"Mom, stop them! I'm going straight over!"
"Cities away from where All for One's hideout is? I don't think so, son," she said. "You made the decision to move over to that city to work with the League of Villains," She said and I froze further and sighed.
"I guess so. . .then again, I was only on a mission for All for One the whole time I was there. . ." I muttered as I stared towards the ground.
"Varek," I blinked with a stern look. "Blake amd the domino have a great relationship going, so you need to trust me on this," She said and I rested my eyes.
"I am, Mom," I said and she probably smiled.
"Alright, I love you, son,"
"Love you too, Mom," I said with a small frown as I hung up and I stared at the sky.
I know I'm not supposed to be worried abour her. I'm more or less worried about if he'd be able to handle her when she gets our of control in her phoenix form without hurting her. . .It's a commonality between my mother and Blake, which seems to make it a drawback. They both rage and it's hard to get them to get back in control again unless it's one they care a lot for. . . I thought as I began to walk into the woods. I suppose I'll have to see over time. I thought as I stared at the ground for a moment.
I ran my hands through my hair and I heard a gun next to me and I glanced over with a blank expression. "Who are you?!" A man said and he seemed to wear some sort of plague mask that was worn during the Black Death and I sighed.
This is going to be a trouble, isn't it. . .?
