Chapter 5: The Other Side Of The Portal
All around Percy bits of rocks and other stuff floated as the tunnel pulled him towards someplace.
Finally, he came to the end of the tunnel and got spat out into a mess in a chamber.
It was barely lit, with Greek fire torches lining the walls. Eerie green light bathed the chamber. Then with a gust of wind, the room fell into darkness.
"Perseus Jackson," a voice whispered.
"Who are you? Where is Kronos?" Percy said, turning in every direction, trying to see something, anything, around him, but it seemed as if the inky darkness were getting darker, as if it were falling on him like layers of blankets, getting heavier, heavier, until he could no longer breathe-
"Son of Poseidon and Sally Jackson. Mate to Kronos, and the Titan's new toy. Pity the one who loves you interrupts us. I will find you again Perseus.
"Meanwhile, remember, Connor Stoll, Lou Ellen Blackstone, and Sherman Yang. Not to worry. They're safe with me, so don't fret. Bye bye!"
The darkness evaporated, and Percy fell to his knees, his sword clattered to the ground. He grasped his neck, taking in as much air as he could.
"Percy?" Kronos.
Thank Chaos he was okay. "What are you doing here? I said to stay!"
Percy growled then stood up. "In case you haven't noticed, I'm not a dog, so I don't stay and I don't quite get along with rules,"
"D-Did you hear that? The darkness, the voice?' Kronos asked, suddenly concerned. Percy nodded and weakly grasped Kronos's hand.
"Let's go home," Kronos whispered. He gently kissed Percy and slung one of Percy's arms around his shoulders and supported him towards the portal. The exchange with the person in the shadows had drained too much out of him for some reason.
He partially carried and partially dragged Percy through the portal, and appeared on the other side on his feet. Many campers cried out seeing their Hero in the arms of the Titan King.
"Drakos? Percy's fiancé?" Someone said slowly. Kronos scowled.
"A mere disguise. I am Kronos, your king, and you will need to fucking deal with the fact that I am engaged to your Hero," Kronos's voice echoed throughout the hall.
Gasps filled the room.
Percy Jackson, the legendary Hero Of Olympus was engaged to Kronos, the dictator who was the reason many of them were dead and the monster who had imprisoned their parents.
----
Laying down Percy on their bed, Kronos looked down worriedly.
Things like messaging through thoughts weren't supposed to take such a toll on anyone, mortal or immortal.
Kronos gently opened Percy's mouth and stuffed a piece of ambrosia down his throat along with a swing of nectar.
He placed on hand on Percy's forehead and thankfully Percy hadn't been as warm as before.
Kronos bit his lip.
It was time.
He was going down to the mortal world to visit the one and only- Sally Jackson.
----
Annabeth curled her fists into balls and then opened up her palm. Repeating the action continuously, tears pricked the corners of her eyes.
Percy had lied to them about being Kronos's lieutenant. He was fucking engaged to the Titan Lord.
Annabeth knew there had been something fishy how Percy behaved. He didn't smile and joke as much.
The Seaweed Brain had probably done it to keep the whole Camp safe- he would do anything for those he loved.
Now, soon Percy would probably get married to the psychopath, and Athena's owls Percy always had dreams of having children- there was no way it was possible with Kronos.
"Annabeth?" Piper called out, gently pushing the door open and peeking inside. "You good? Can I come in?"
Annabeth quickly wiped her damp cheeks with the hem of her t-shirt. She nodded.
Piper came in and sat next to Annabeth on her bunk in the Athena cabin. She held Annabeth's hand and listened as Annabeth went on and on about Percy.
"I still love him," she confessed, averting her gaze. Piper's gaze softened.
"I know," Piper whispered, then kissed Annabeth on the cheek. "But now its us. Focus on us?"
Annabeth smiled. This was why she loved Piper McLean. This was why she had loved Percy.
She kissed her.
----
He pressed his palms together and smirked. Everything was going according to plan.
The Poseidon boy was weakened and Kronos was in the mortal world.
A few more weeks.
Then he would release the storm.
A person in black raced up to the side of his throne and whispered in his ear, "Hermes and Poseidon have escaped, the other Olympians are all unconscious on the floors of their cages and have no recollections."
He raised an eyebrow and then flicked his right wrist.
"Release Castellan."
