Haunani Kahale, a young girl with big dreams, she had lived in Outer Banks since she was eight years old, leaving behind her home in Lahaina, Hawaii. She thought her life would end when she packed her things with her mother and father, and waved goodbye to the beautiful ocean she called home.

But living in Outer Banks brought new adventures and memories, she had discovered the divided world of the Pogues and Kooks, where she had discovered she lived in the Pogue world, making it harder for her to get her dreams of becoming a professional surfer.

Having friends wasn't too hard, she had managed to become close to a trio of guys who shared classes with her, who had the same hobby as her and supported her dream. Kiara then came into the picture, the spotlight had changed to her, all of them dreaming and drooling over the kook. Haunani felt left aside when it came to Kiara, the opportunity to tell Pope she liked him vanished, she saw the glittering eyes he had for her, the lost for words, everything Haunani had expressed for the brains of their group.

But telling him her feelings would be harder, now that a treasure hunt caught them in the middle of their summer, shifting every plan of theirs.

She works with Pope in his father's place, and if my eyes didn't play games on me, I would say that Nani has a thing for Pope, but maybe my eyes are just seeing things that aren't there."
