Sitting by the hospital bed for hours was very tiring.
As I exited the building, my legs tingling from sitting on my knees, I whipped out my phone. The girls would flip out if I didn't tell them.

I shut my phone off, shoving it away into the abyss that is my bag. I feel the soft cover of the book, and shudder. After all she's done to me, now she brings it up that we used to be friends? The worst timing if you ask me.
I spot a bus coming towards the stop, and take out money to pay. It halts in front of me and some random guy standing next to me who has a hoodie covering his face. I step onto the platform and place the money in the slot and grab onto a pole. The man with the hoodie is staring at me through he small area he has to look. I glare at him and he eyes flicker elsewhere.
The bus jerks forward, throwing me a tiny bit. Out of the corner of my eye I see the man looking again. He seems very interested in me. I check the stops and make sure I'm going the right when I realize that this one is mine. Darting off the bus, I catch a glimpse of mystery man, as I have named him, following me off.
"What do you want?" I whisper scream, turning around to look at him. I'm met with green eyes and scruffy, light brown hair.
"David? Why the hell are you stalking me?"
Meet David Hansen. He's about 6'0 and very sarcastic. He's been in the same class as me since I was four all the way to high school. His eyes are about as green as green can get and his hairy is always tangled.
"I want to ask Alexis to prom."
I feel my eyes grow large on that sentence. The words linger in my head, floating around and around. I finally process what it means and smirk.
"I'm actually going prom dress shopping with the girls today, you should wait outside the shop! I mean, it will probably take hours because of Ange, but still!" I tell him, and his face lights up.
"Thanks Rea! Knew I could count on you!" He shouts, running ahead of me to the store.
Huh, Rea. That's a new one.
I start heading towards the shop, knowing my way around town. I pass the local diner, where my friend June works. I wish I could stop in and say hello, but priorities. I spot the store and wish I could run, but high top converse would beg to differ.
David waits on a bench outside the door, his earplugs already in listening to some rap music.
I prefer pop.
I open the door, almost banging my head. I immediately spot Jamie looking in the purple section and Amelia in the red. Jamie spots me and pulls me over.
Oh god, this is going to be a long day.

After trying on fifteen million dresses and throwing dresses at everyone, we had all found our own and were happy with them.
Mine was a ruffled back dress with spaghetti straps. It had lace sleeves and a opening in the front. Emma had a dress that changed from purple to peach. Amelia was a short burgundy dress that clung to her shoulders, which Alexis had a icy blue dress that was lacy and short sleeved. Jamie's was a dark purple one that hung from her neck and Ange's was a light pink sleeveless one that had a flowing back piece.
(view chapter prom dresses and hair, and suits for the boys suits!)
We paid for the dresses and left the shop. Everyone was touching Emma's dress when we realized Alexis was still standing in front of the shop with David. I grinned slightly and Emma noticed.
"You're like a matchmaker you know." She whispered to me and we broke into fits of laughter. Alexis walked back over, a huge smile covering her face. I look over to Dave and give him a thumbs up.
"Alex! You just got asked to prom!" Angie days, screening for the whole world to hear. Alex punches her lightly in the shoulder, while the rest of us resumed the laughter.

As soon as I reached the house, I knew something was wrong or right. Dan wasn't in his normal spot on the sofa, and Mel and Becca weren't bickering over who got to pick the first anime.
I walk around for a little bit, looking for a trace of a note or something, but come up empty handed. My phone had died hours ago so I decided to plug it in, hoping for some sort of connection to my lost friends.
As soon as it powers up, the dinging is unbearable. I had missed so many messages from all of them when I noticed I had a peculiar one from Phil's phone.
phillipcoma:(
hey kid, i just happen to have woken up
A grin that has been unimagined by any person ever seen enters my face. I race out the door, not caring that I had nothing but clothes and a wallet on me at this point. I sprinted all the way to the hospital, trying to avoid people's feet. I reach the room, slamming open the door.
I'm met with blue eyes that I thought I would never see again. My feet seem to have froze even though I wanted to hug him. Dan was holding his hand and Mel and Becca were crying. Tears poured down my face and I must've looked crazy, but enough to make him cry to. Suddenly, I'm rushing into him and I wrap my arms tightly around his body.
"I though you were dead." I say, my voice barely a whisper.
What I say was true. I though that when I saw a look of shock on his face, it would be the last time those eyes met mine, the last time I saw his face contort.
"Well, I'm not. Let's just celebrate that."
And I knew we would have to wait to celebrate. I knew we would have to wait for him to come home, but it didn't matter. Phil was alive, breathing, not in a sleep where he might not wake up. I look to Dan, the person who understood what pain I was going through. I turn my head to Mel and Becca, whose tear stained faces have not stopped them from smiling or from being my friends.
I in case them with my arms and they hold me back. Behind me I can hear Dan weeping slightly, knowing his best friend and fiance was alive.
And I know its going to be alright.

are any of you crying yet?
