Author:- Shooketha
Interviewer:- Chenhui

Shooketha or should I say Dia is well known author on Wattpad. Her book 'pervert teacher' made a huge success. Her award 'The Trivia Award' is one of the best award on Wattpad.
Thank you for accepting the offer for getting interviewed and welcome to the magazine of Kpop House Community, Miss Dia.

As a big fan of 00:00 and Addiction, I would really love to know what inspired you to write such beautiful creations?

Ah thank you! For 00:00 I had read this idea online and thought it was truly beautiful but nobody continued it. I wrote credits for whoever wrote it but I used my own characters and plots. It’s a very confusing book, I myself know that. Though when you finally put the clues together then it all comes along.
For Addiction, I was trying to do this cliche type of mafia book, but with a little twist. When reading, it doesn’t specify what the story involved other than mafia related themes, but that’s a little twist it has further on. I left little hints on the main plot in the first few chapters and then later on it was discovered. Mostly in my books, there is always a sort of twist or something you don’t expect. Nothing yet has been so simple to understand.

Oh that's actually good way to write a book. Stories are surely written with different references. Out of all your creations which is that one book you will never loose love for?

Out of all my current stories, I’ve personally developed a strong bond for King of Hearts and 00:00. I have put my soul into this books and I would appreciate it if more people took that into consideration. Lately I’ve also been keeping in mind Pervert Teacher. The rewritten version has me craving for new chapters of the book myself! I used to not value in the importance of the book, yet many people discovered me by it, but now it’s just a book that I enjoy writing because people do enjoy reading it. If others enjoy it then I’m comfortable with anything.

Pervert Teacher is something I believe most of your followers anticipated for the return. How have you kept up your hopes up to write those books? What's your motivation to complete them without giving up?

Ah, Pervert Teacher. That one book. Recently I’ve struggled too much with it that nobody can imagine the amount of pain I go through. Rewriting a book that has been deleted with no reason why and with no backup drafts is just a nightmare no writer wants to ever go through. I kept working on it and I re wrote the book because of the people who wanted to read it. Everyday people would ask me what happened to the book and yet I only have one answer. Now, it’s slowly coming back and little by little people are enjoying this new version more than the last one which is my goal. I want a new and improved Pervert Teacher. The plot, the sequence, the grammar, the setting, the characters. I want it all to follow a certain rhythm and go accordingly to how it would make sense to the reader. It’s the book I’ve worked on the most lately and I want to make it just perfect to be able to be read smoothly. With people reading it everyday with no sort of reason to leave, that makes me want to keep writing it. I don’t want to let them down and I don’t want to make them disappointed in me which is why I continue.

Motivation by followers it is. Noticing so many cliche plotted books rising and getting famous without great amount effort and grammar, what do you think about it?

I really think it needs to stop. I get that many people like those cliche plots and it’s their favorite type of topic to read, but we need innovative authors that are willing to make sacrifices for a new plot. Yes, I know it’s hard, but it needs to happen. All these cliche books are just books copied from another book. To me a book needs to have a proper plot and a proper dialogue. If the author can’t put those two together and include a proper sequence of grammar then there is no reason for the book to be considered famous or ever be on its way to getting famous. I take it as if it was some sort of plagiarism, and I can’t tolerate that. If you don’t put your effort on something and expect people to like it then you won’t get anywhere— and if you do then there is always a limit to poor work.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

I completely agree with you. I love how you called cliché plots as a plagiarized revamp of already existing books with such ideas. Do you think your motive on wattpad has changed from the day 1 to now?

Definitely! Day 1 of wattpad I was never interested in writing, it never came to my mind, plus I was never good at it. My motive in that first month of being there was just to make a book in which my friends casted in it and we could enjoy reading it together. It wasn’t a fan fiction, it was just for fun. Yet a while later, I did start writing fan fictions. I wasn’t really inspired by any book, I was just tired of picking incomplete books with amazing cliffhangers. So I did my own. That’s when I started writing properly but I still needed to work up my way and knowledge on writing something that I wasn’t comfortable with or used to. It all went by fast. Just with one book an author can blow up and with one book, I started writing more. Ideas came to me daily and I always wrote them down. From Day 1, I still have them written. I went from wanting to just have fun with my friends and read books to writing them myself and hoping people enjoy them as much as I do one day.

That's great! To see that your small interest in writing touched hearts of many. Impressing indeed!! I have heard many praises about the awards you conduct; in your opinion, how different is the awards conducted by you?

My award, mostly Trivia, could be considered one of the most hated or loved awards out there. In my opinion, it’s nothing like other awards. I try to make something unique and most of the things that happen in my award, don’t happen in others. I do a lot of work in it, I host, judge, review, etc. Other awards, their host doesn’t judge or review the books. What if the judge lied about the score? What if the book deserves more? Or what if a friend is the judge and they are helping the author win? How can you call that fair? I don’t do that. Every book accepted, no matter what, has to go through me in order to receive proper qualification. If not, it is invalid. I have my rules and I want people to follow them properly. I keep an eye on every participant. I have over 600 of them. I will, without hesitation, update my blacklist if the case is given. Only the best win and they all know this. I’m not here to sugar coat things just like awards tend to do. Awards nowadays are like a plagiarized book. They don’t find anything innovative to do and yet they still do it. If the host doesn’t care about the awards then it will not succeed at all. I judge ethically and my judges know they have to do so too. There’s always a blacklist waiting for them if their job isn’t fulfilled correctly. That’s why the award flows so smoothly, because the rules are there and they are followed, yes or yes.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Blunt, honest and giving recognition who needs it. Awards have lost that these days. It's great to see you are making sure that people get what they deserve. Last question to end the conversation, what would you like your readers and the people reading this interview in the magazine know about you and your books?

I would like them to understand me. I just want a chance to be given to fully comprehend my motives and actions. I tend to me misunderstood a lot and it causes certain misunderstanding between others. I’m not a rude person, I just don’t joke around. I’m not a patient person but that doesn’t mean I’m not normal. If people understood me then they would know who I really am and who I tend to be. My books, I just want them to be appreciated and read. If nobody reads them then my motivation will be lost. If my motivation is lost then why would I consider spending my time on wattpad? Half of my readers know what I’ve been through, yet the other half is still clueless and don’t take in consideration what type of person they are following. I want them to know who I am and who they read books from. If they enjoy my books and stick with me then at least understanding who I am is all I ask from them. I want to be able to give them what they ask for through my books but it becomes hard at times when I’m left all alone in certain occasions.
