Jungkook's POV
After seeing Jimin.
Jimin walked silently, leading me to his house after we had our first encounter since many months ago.
I'd never even known where Jimin lived, yet it was only a block from the castle.
It was just an average house with a wooden sloped roof, and cute flower boxes behind a picket white fence.
Heat flushed my face as we headed inside his home, the sound of a woman singing softly in the distance mesmerising me as Jimin closed the front door, locking it behind us.
That's when a woman appeared in the hallway wearing a blue dress, in her arms a little baby in a white dress that she bounced up and down, cradling to sleep.
Her eyes scanned over me as Jimin approached the women.
My eyes softened watching Jimin wrap his arm around the woman's waist, kissing her forehead before his attention was drawn to the baby in his woman's arms.
His smaller hand ran over the baby as he spoke softly to his partner.
"You're late." The woman muttered.
"I know, I know. I got distracted." Jimin murmured back while watching the baby sleep.
"What's with the man?" She asked, her eyes skittering over to me in the doorway before back at Jimin.
"He holds answers." Jimin simply replied.
"Answers to what?" She asked Jimin as he let go of her waist.
"Taehyung." Jimin told her.
"Oh not this again, Taehyung is likely dead Jimin-ah, when will you give this up!?" The women gasped.
"Taehyung is not bloody dead, and I will not give this up. He's my friend. My best and only friend." Jimin replied back, a tone of anger striking his raised voice.
I looked down at my feet hearing the baby cry as the woman stuttered, "Look what you did, she's awake now."
"Sorry, sorry," Jimin muttered softly, before humming, "Hello sweetie." To the child.
"Just he may be the answer I need." Jimin said, referring to me who still stood by the door.
I looked up, seeing the women nodding.
"Your dinner is on the table, I didn't know we'd be having guests so maybe share your dinner with him. I am going to put our wee-one back to bed." The woman said before turning her back to Jimin to head back in the direction she came from.
Jimin ran a hand through his hair before speaking, "Jungkook, come."
I followed him down the hallway as he entered the last room of the house on the left of the hallway.
We entered into a tight kitchen which extended into another room with a dining table.
"You were having a baby and never told me?" I asked Jimin as we sat down at the table together.
The baby would've had to have been conceived before Jimin went travelling, that or the baby would've had to have been born today, yet it looked a bit older than that.
Jimin sighed, standing up to grab another plate before sitting back down to reply.
"My wife could have lost the baby while I was away, I did not have importance to you so what good would've come from that information to you." Jimin replied.
"I would've taken you back." I replied back while frowning.
"And then you would've returned us all and Taehyung wouldn't have had his chance with you." Jimin replied simply, making eye contact with me.
"You did a great deal for Taehyung." I hummed.
"Jungkook, how are you alive?" Jimin asked while scraping some mash potato onto another plate.
I licked my lips while looking out the window beside us at the darkness.
"First off, I know you protected yourself, but you were one of the reasons I died to begin with. Why should I be nice to you now and tell you these details, hm?" I asked, looking back at the male.
Jimin's eyes were scary to look at, they seemed quite striking and piercing as he stared at me without moving.
"I just welcomed you into my home, I am about to feed you with my own food because my family does not have a lot of money for food, you took about 2 or so weeks away from me watching my pregnant wife," Jimin began, his voice sounding emotionless and cold.
"And I have not seen my best friend in 10 months. I'd like to know about him out of care. Plus maybe I have information that you don't. Maybe we can trade knowledge?" Jimin stated.
I poked my tongue into my cheek while resting back in the pine dining table chair.
"I can tell you what I know, but I don't know how useful my information will be in finding Taehyung." I told him.
"He's not with you? You're not just hiding him?" Jimin asked while tilting his head to the side.
Does he think I faked my death?
I shook my head.
"I wish I could say I was, but I have no clue of his whereabouts. All I know is this..." I began.
I whined, twitching my head back and forth after feeling something tapping my cheek.
My eyes opened slowly, the bright sun fanning down on my face.
I sat up after feeling something grainy beneath my body.
Golden sand surrounded me while some bugs must have stirred me awake.
My hands darted up and down my body after remembering being inside the execution hall.
I lifted up my shirt, seeing hardened blood around my chest.
Yet I am alive.
But how?
I gasped seeing Taehyung's red necklace hanging around my neck.
Did he give this to me?
Did he want a part of him with me while I am dead?
But how the fuck am I alive?
I got up, thankfully I was not in a blood stained shirt as Taehyung or someone must have changed my shirt before my funeral or something.
I then wandered towards the city as my eyes continued to adjust to the light.
The first thing I did was head over to a local stall, picking up a newspaper.
"August." I gasped out as I read the date.
"Oi, you have to pay for that." A local worker complained to me as I held the paper in my arms.
I suppose if everyone reads papers like this, they likely will not buy them which means the stall owner gets no profit.
"Oh, sorry." I muttered, my hand patting my pockets.
Only they were obviously empty because I died so any money I may have had was taken from me.
The only thing valuable that I had was Taehyung's necklace, yet I am not willing to sell that.
"Urm, I don't have any." I mumbled.
"Then no newspaper." The male demanded, slapping it out of my hand which made it land back in the stall.
"Um tell me, you read these papers?" I asked.
"Yeah." The male said, giving me a once over look thinking I must be a foreigner.
"What's happened to Kim Taehyung?" I questioned him.
The male sighed before answering.
"He's not here lad. King claims his son was stolen by pirates, while this city thinks he's been stuck in prison by his father after journalists claimed he kissed another male. You can presume what that would do to his reputation." The male mumbled.
I nodded.
"Ah, okay." I replied knowing that was not helpful information for me.
Especially because he kissed me.
Present time.
"Wait so you're telling me you just woke up on a beach?" Jimin gasped.
I nodded.
"How the fuck did you manage to wake up on a beach in August? That would've been 8 months after your death. Your body wouldn't have been preserved or anything. Definitely not on a pirate ship, nor in the ocean." Jimin gasped out.
I shrugged.
"Exactly why I don't even know. Part of me thinks Taehyung did something bad like made a deal with a witch and sacrificed himself for me, which is why he gave me his necklace. That or some mermaid found me in the ocean." I mumbled.
"Jungkook, witches and mermaids don't exist." Jimin huffed.
"Psh, you would've said pirates didn't exist until you met me I bet." I retorted.
"And you've been coping to stay away from the Korean military for 2 months?" Jimin asked.
I nodded, "At first I had nothing. But after a couple days of no food, a lovely local woman started feeding me," I began to explain.
"She's elderly, her partner had passed away a couple months before meeting me. She said she struggled to work in the store because it required a lot of standing around. So she gave me the job, the money goes to her mostly because I am living with her, but it gives me something to do while waiting to find out new information about Taehyung. Plus I get shelter, food and clothing from the money I make." I continued.
"I was going to offer for you to stay here but it seems you have that sorted. I doubt you'd want to be woken up at 2am by a crying baby anyways." Jimin mumbled.
"I used to wake up at 2am on my ship to take over shifts so I am not opposed to your offer, yet I think I am better where I am. Best I don't get in the way of you and your wife." I muttered.
"So you don't have any clue where Taehyung is?" Jimin questioned me as we ate the cold food Jimin's wife made for originally just Jimin.
"News article claimed he was spotted in Malaysia a month ago, but when the Navy went looking for him, apparently they couldn't find him. So it seems Taehyung is good at out thinking the Navy which I am proud of him for, but also I want to see him again." I replied.
Jimin nodded, "I want to see him again too."
"Did he actually make it onboard a boat? What if the rumours that his parents are holding him captive in prison are true?" I asked Jimin.
"He made it onto your ship, I went to the docs and said goodbye to him. I also have snuck into the prisons to check that theory is not true. He is out there, somewhere in the world. He is so hard to track." Jimin told me.
"I hope he's taking care of my ship." I hummed, resting my head in my hand while eating.
"It's his ship now according to your sentence." Jimin reminded me.
"Right..." I began.
"I don't know how he's pulling it off. The navy knows what my ship looks like." I mumbled.
"He may have changed ships. Yours could be in a harbour somewhere safe among dozens. Who knows." Jimin told me and I sighed.
"Jungkook, you need to be careful of the navy and military. If they find you, they could kill you again." Jimin told me.
I nodded.
"I know, they likely would. I am trying to be careful. This is the reason I haven't gone looking for you or the other workers that were aboard my ship for a bit. I don't know who I can trust with being here and the closer I get to the castle, the closer I may get to having my head chopped off." I explained.
"The only way I could get close to the castle would be if Taehyung is King and is here." I told Jimin.
Jimin nodded, agreeing.
Where are you Kim Taehyung? Please be alive and well... But please come back soon. I know I destined us for freedom and a future where we didn't need to go back to South Korea, but please come back. Come back to see Jimin and let me be a nice surprise for you to find...
Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns? So Jungkook is alive but he doesn't know how he is alive. Why do you's think Jungkook is alive? Feel free to leave a guess in the comments. We can see both Jimin and Jungkook have been trying to track Taehyung down as well as military/navy. Jimin is fed up with Taehyung's absence already after 10 months. His emotions even are being displayed in front of his family. The poor man. Though hopefully he feels better now after seeing Jungkook.
