When a person works for a company, him or her, besides money, want to be recognized and highly appreciated.  Of course, promotion and awards are necessary, too. So, how does the boss give the reward and promotion? There are many ways to reward a staffer for his or her exceptional contribution to the company. Many people think the way of rewarding depends on the living situation and society.

Firstly, everybody knows that the main purpose of working is to earn money. All workers or employees need it to pay for all their needs in life. Some young people study hard to get a good job, to be rich and even to get out of the poverty. They think hard work must be paid off. So, money is the most important thing for employees. They can work in enthusiasm if the salary is acceptable and good enough. In additional, the award they receive from the boss will make them work harder and harder, stay with the company longer. However, the award of money and salary should be kept in an unofficial way in order to avoid the jealousy. In my company, each person’s salary is private and confidential. Colleagues must not know about others’ salaries. In my opinion, this is the suitable way for working efficiency. Knowing each other’s salary means that strong impact on work begins to come up because we cannot value our colleague’s ability of work except the leader.

Secondly, besides extra money, there are other way to reward excellent employees such as giving a flexible time of work, they can go to work or work at home optionally on condition that their task is well completed. Also, they can take a few days off with payment if they get into a bad situation like sickness or accidents. This will make them so much satisfied. Moreover, their achievement can be announced on the bulletin board or through internal mail because most people enjoy being highly appreciated in front of the rest. Of course, some special coupons for holiday or entertainment are sometimes considered as spiritual value, based on their comparative results whatever contribution to the company they offer. However, the official promotion may act as an incentive for some employees but it also has impact on others. This means that jealousy may exist among the rest.

Finally, the reward should depend on the living situation and society. For example, in my company, there are a lot of ways of appreciating such as employees’ work announcement of their hard work, financial reward, and promotion, but, most of them like to be given more training. Because it is flexible for them to do anything they want. However the financial reward should be given in secret by transferring through the bank account or letting it go with the salary envelope.

In conclusion, most people like receiving rewards, being appreciated and improving their skills by more training. In my opinion, the boss should find the best way to encourage employees to work hard, but avoid causing a negative impact on others. Especially, the salary and financial reward should be kept in secret.
