CALL ENDED

BEFORE

stella was finally starting to feel good again, and she could thank Pandora for that.

the now seven month old dalmatian was quite a lot of work, but it kept her mind busy, something the college student needed. thank god her apartment allowed pets.

when Pandora first came in her life, she didn't make things easy. the new environment made her uneasy and very scared. she would whine constantly at every hour, never seeming content. when stella tried to sleep, the pup was sure to keep her up and wide awake.

stella couldn't blame her though, being taken away from your mom and siblings to a new environment would make her whine too.

Pandora would not only whine, but need to relieve herself at many hours of the day. the dalmatian couldn't be left alone for more than 2 hours or the whole apartment would smell of urine and feces.

tony suggested to buy a crate and crate train her, and the suggestion was exactly what was needed. Pandora would not go to the bathroom in her 36 inch cage, and it helped train her restless pacing at night. the only downside was the pup needing to pee and poop at 2am and 4am and 7am everyday, but it was an easy routine to get into.

overall, the dog had its downsides, but the good outweighed the bad. tons of toys were bought and the puppy quickly became spoiled rotten. she was a quick learner and easily learned how to sit, stay, speak, and jump on command.

stella was finally happy, she should of known it would not last that long.

the college woman liked to chew gum a lot. it helped her think and not be distracted by food. while she would be in class, it helped distract her from listening and pay more attention to making a perfectly round ball of gum in her mouth. to sum it up: stella liked gum, so naturally she would have lots of it around the apartment. specifically sugar free kind.

today stella had a 3-6pm public speaking class. it was only three hours, so she decided to leave pandora out of her cage. she's been out of her crate for longer periods of time and been fine, three hours would be easy.

so, the white haired woman left, leaving her seventh month old puppy to wonder the place alone.

she would sniff things here and there but quickly got bored with that. the pillows on her masters bed seemed inviting, so the dalmatian decided to chew on those for a little bit. after the stuffing appeared and Pandora ate most of it, she decided to explore a little bit more. sniffing around once again, she smelled the sweet scent of the gum stella always chewed. if she could "eat" it then why couldn't pandora? so the pup ripped open a package containing 26 sticks of gum and went to town. they were hard to swallow and it seemed like she would never stop chewing the big globs, so she just swelled all of it.

it wasn't until two hours later did the puppy start to feel funny.

it started with her drooling. not just regular drooling, but producing lots of it. there was so much that she kept her tiny mouth open as it spilled out. it wasn't long after that she started to throw up. it was mostly yellow bile and stuffing, occasionally puppy food, but there was lots of it everywhere. her mouth even began to foam afterwards.

pandora knew this wasn't right, so she whined. she whined and paced as her mouth foamed. her limbs began to stiffen, then all of the sudden jerk out. she fell to the ground once her limbs stayed stiff for a few minutes. as she laid, her muscles began to twitch, making her whole body go with the motions.

pandora was howling at this point.

the dalmatian made paddling motions as she laid on the ground howling in pain and confusion. this went on for over five minutes. the movements were happening quickly, much too quickly for the pups liking. when she started to feel sleepy and lose consciousness did she feel at peace and the jerking movements stop.

stella arrived home 12 minutes later, smelling the puke on the floor and her puppy unconscious. she rushed to her and kneeled in the pile of bile and foam, but she didn't care. one quick listen to the still lying dog was the answer she dreaded as soon as she opened the door.

Pandora the seventh month old dalmatian was dead.

she had died from a seizure lasting eight minutes to be exact. the cause of the seizure? stella's sugar free gum. specifically one special ingredient.

xylitol

beneficial to humans, but very toxic to dogs. especially consumed in large amounts.

stella screamed in grief, her face screwed up into pain she was feeling from the loss of her puppy that was taken away too soon from her careless mistake.

almost as if it was muscle memory, stella reached for her phone as she picked up her puppy and laid her gently on her lap.

stella was hysterical when tony arrived at the apartment. after a quick survey of the room, the state stella and pandora was in, he had figured out what happened. he walked over to stella as said woman had silent tears steaming down her face as she gently pet the dog.

wordlessly, tony lifted the dog from her vice like grip and laid her on the couch. he picked stella up and wrapped her in a nearby gray fuzzy blanket. he made a quick phone call as stella stared emptily at the ground.

police showed up minutes later. they took care of the scene while the college woman leaned into tony, his arm wrapped around her boney frame. the police took pandora and as the white haired woman began to protest, they promised her she would be safe until she was ready to decide on the kind of funeral she wanted. this was tony's one request to the police officers.

as they drove away, tony slowly moved the woman to his car and drove them to his vacant tower.

the avengers left long ago, the whole sokovia accords not making anyone comfortable to stay with tony.

stella was given her own room, a very nice one at that. she paid no mind to that as she emotionlessly took a shower and put on a pair of tony's clothes. she walked back to his living room and curled herself into a ball, the scent of tony's clothes surrounding her.

everything was white noise to her as she took in the death of her dog. she no longer cried but sat in shock instead. stella had no idea how long she sat there but it must of been quite a while, for she could hear voices, and they weren't tony's or imaginary ones.

is she okay mr. stark?

of course not peter, her dog just died for christ sakes. give her some space.

i wasn't talking to you, Ophelia.

quiet, both of you. leave her alone and go do something that doesn't bother me or her. go annoy each other or kill each other i really don't care at this point anymore. you both act like children.
