Epilouge

Tony turned on his phone on at 7:26 am. He had another rough night of nightmares interrupting his much needed sleep. He checked the few emails that weren't really important and then went to his text messages.

Tony didn't really expect any messages from his fellow avengers; it's not like they would want to talk to him anyway. Surprisingly there was a text from stella, and he opened it up quickly.

star gazer
i know you won't read this till later. and that's a good thing. i just want to let you know that you have been the best thing to me my entire life. you have given me so much happiness in my short life and for that i want to thank you. thank you for making my final days on earth memorable. i won't ever forget you.

i have to go now. i can't keep living my life anymore tony. it's so hard to wake up everyday and pretend everything is alright.

this isn't your fault. you could NOT of prevented this. the idea of killing myself has been on my mind for over a year. no matter what you did or what you could of said could of prevented my death. i want you to know that. my mind has been set on this for awhile and after everything that has been happening to me i'm taking that as a sign.

goodbye tony
delivered at 3:49am

Tony had immediately called the police after reading her message to him. He called his suit to him in a hurry, already walking to the outside and getting ready to take off.

The Iron Man armor attacked to his body part by part and molded itself to his body. Soon enough the process was complete and the billionaire flew his way to Stella's apartment.

please don't be dead please don't be dead stella please.

He arrived to her home minutes later. Tony knocked the door down with his foot and hurried inside. His eyes frantically searched the apartment for the college woman.

F.R.I.D.A.Y locate stella lewis

shes in the bedroom sir. it doesn't look good. paramedics are minutes away

Iron Man ignores his AI and briskly walked to the hallway and into the door on the right. He stepped out of the suit as soon as he saw his friend on the bed in her state.

Stella was under the covers in her small room, looking as if she was merely sleeping. Her left hand was clutching an orange prescription bottle, the contents of it all consumed by the girl. Her hazel eyes were open and staring blankly at the ceiling. A small smile was planted on her pierced lips.

Tony gently placed his hand on her neck, searching for a pulse. Her cold body and stiff body was the only answer he needed.

"Stella," he whispered.

He shook her shoulder, as if the sudden movement would awake the sleeping beauty. "Cmon star, don't do this." He shook her harder, not grasping the reality of the situation.

Out of no where paramedics were on the scene and ushering the billionaire away from the scene and outside. He struggled against their grip, his scared brown eyes staring at her body. "Hey please be careful with her. She needs help."

They only nodded and left him outside with a few officers and an ambulance. Tony placed his hands on his face and took a deep breath. His breathing was shaky and he felt light headed. Taking his hands off his face he stared at how they shook with his breathing. The billionaire clenched them closed.

"Don't leave me, buddy," Tony whispered into the air. A paramedic was speaking to him but the man couldn't hear her. He shook his head slowly, trying to tell her he didn't understand. A blanket was soon placed on his shoulders as he lowers himself to the ground.

Stella had killed herself and he couldn't save her. She was just another person he couldn't save. Another name to his never ending list.

"Oh god what am i going to do."

Stella Lewis was someone he had trusted. Someone who didn't see him as a hero and famous. She saw him as a funny and sarcastic guy who happened to know he had a suit of armor.

Tony didn't know she was sad and struggling with a few disorders. Stella never said anything to him and he didn't even see the signs he should of looked out for. She always looked so happy. It had all been a lie to make Tony not worry.

Stella was a great and cherished friend to him. He would never forget her as long as he lived. Tony would always be thunderstruck by her kindness and willingness to always be there for him. Even if it was a simple text, it has meant so much to him.

And to think their friendship had started just because the billionaire had texted the wrong number. One little message really could change your whole life.

And at the end of the day, Tony Stark was happy to know Stella Maxine Lewis for ten months.
