talents revealed and sibling bonding

When John found Alan he was in his own room packing up his new gifts and some clothes. He patted him on the back and began to help him pack up all of his belongings.
"You know my jet is still at the runway so someone's going to have to fly me back to school"
"Way ahead of you kiddo I'll fly you there myself tomorrow morning"
"Thanks John"
Alan hugged John before he headed out to his own room. Once John was gone he sat down on his bed and stared at all the secret compartments on his room. Alan sat there thinking of all the reason as to why he was hiding all of this from his family and they all seemed silly now.

Alan got up from his bed and flicked a switch underneath his desk. All of his paintings, certificates, medals and awards appeared suddenly and locked into place.
The thing about this switch though, was that it activated all of the hidden compartments and made them all open and lock into place so that they were no longer able to hide the things that they once contained.
Scott, Virgil and Gordon were sat in the living room telling to John when suddenly paintings came out of compartments in the walls and clamped down onto the walls. John jumped up from the sofa and looked around the room with wide eyes.
"ALAN!!" John yelled
They all listened as they heard the sounds of the kid running down the corridor and then looked at the balcony where he stood.
"Yeah Johnny" Alan announced as he looked down at his brothers.
John looked at Alan and pointed at the paintings.
"It's time to stop hiding John. They're staying where they hang. I flicked the switch there's no going back now"
"Kiddo ... you flicked the switch" John said quietly in awe
"Yep. No more hiding. I'm out in the open now for all of the house to see. If they don't like it they know where the garden is and they know what they can do out there" Alan announced loudly and then headed back to his room.

Virgil walked up to then paintings and analysed them. He looked at all the detail that was contained in them and smiled. The others watched Virgil and when they saw him smile they knew that was a good thing.
"He's good isn't he" John announced from the doorway.
"These are brilliant John. Where does he paint these and what does he do with them" Virgil asked
"He hangs them around the house and then hides them. However they're no longer hidden. Theres some at Wharton Academy and there's some in my room. And yes he has sold some but he doesn't sell them to the big museums as he didn't want to over step and get in your way" John told him
"Thats silly. These are amazing and he shouldn't hold back" Virgil announced
"Thanks Virgil!!" Alan called from his room
"He's good at alot of things. Come to my room and I'll show you" John told them.

They walked to John's room and paused every so often to look at the paintings that had appeared on the walls. When they reached John's room he flicked a few switches and all the lights in the room came on.
Covering the wall by the door was all of John's achievements but on the other walls were Alan's. Scott, Virgil and Gordon walked up to the certificates and medals and examined them. They were suprised by what they saw but they were proud of all that their baby brother had achieved.

Once they were done with looking around the room they all headed to Alan's room. When they neared the room they could hear guitar. John looked at his watch.
"Ah its time for his practice. I'm sure he won't mind cutting it short today to talk to you all" John announced as they reached Alan's door.
John knocked on the door and then opened it. Alan looked up from the music sheet he was reading but continued to strum the guitar.
"Hey guys. Hey John these songs are amazing where did you find them" Alan announced
"Thats a secret kiddo" John announced as he walked further into the room with the others following him.
"Kill joy" Alan groaned.
Scott looked around the room and saw all the pictures that appeared around the room. They were of Alan with different people and they were all in different settings. From what he could see, they were of Alan at concerts, museums and at competitions.
"Sprout you've achieved alot" Scott announced.
"I know right. I bet John's well tired from flying all over the place to meet me at all of the events" Alan said as he looked up at his brothers.
"Never kiddo. I enjoy flying to all of the places to see your latest achievements and I'm very proud to be there when I see you compete and most of the time win" John told him
"Thanks Johnny. It's great to have you there cheering me on and supporting me" Alan said smiling. Then he looked at the rest of his brothers and smiled "I have a concert that I'll be playing in, in about 3 months. Your all welcome to come and see it. John can give you the details when he receives them" Alan told them.
They all smiled and nodded at what Alan had told them.

A few hours later Jeff walked down the corridor and smiled at all of the paintings covering the walls. When he reached his youngest sons room his smile widened at the sight that he saw. All of his sons were dotted around Alan's room laughing at something someone had said while Alan played guitar and virgil played piano.
Alans laugh was the loudest and his smile was the brightest. Jeff was happy. All of his children were safe and they were getting along like they had nothing to worry about at all. He just hoped that it would stay like this once Alan headed back to Wharton in the morning.
Hopefully the sharing of stories and the bonding would help them become closer and stay that way for a long time to come.
